Todd interrupted Theodore: "So, what is the 'Relief Society' looking for me about?"
The old man put down the food in his hand: "Todd, cooperate with me. I know you have unlocked the secret of the 'Inheritor'. With your help, I can improve the technology of the 'Necromancer Inheritor' and make it perfect."
Rachel finally couldn't hold back any longer: "And then? Theodore? Let the 'Elders' enslave the whole world?"
Upon hearing this, the throat bone whispered, "Miss Rachel, the 'Elders' Council' is aware of your treachery, and you have been officially expelled from the 'League of Conflict.' I believe an executioner will be visiting you soon..."
Rachel raised her head, her face showing no fear despite these words.
Todd looked at the person opposite him and said softly, "President, if I'm not mistaken, the technology of 'Necromancer Inheritor' is still immature and may have major flaws. It's still a long way from practical application."
Theodore and the throat bone exchanged a glance, and the former nodded slightly, confirming Todd's guess.
Todd added, “Chairman, you want me to cooperate with you. But to be honest, as an alien, I cannot agree with some of the practices of the Elders.”
Theodore glanced at Todd, then at Rachel, a different emotion appearing on his weathered face: "Todd, since you're willing to tell me the truth, then I'll tell you my own story. In my youth, I was a member of the 'Dissident Legion'."
Theodore's voice was low and sorrowful: "As a scholar in the Legion, I once participated in an 'Eclipse Ritual'."
Upon hearing the term uttered by the chairman, Rachel's face instantly drained of color.
Theodore, seeing Todd's puzzled expression, sighed: "It seems Miss Rachel didn't tell you about this. The 'Eclipse Ritual' is the most inhumane act the 'Elders' have ever performed in order to cultivate an army of successors."
"In order to replicate the abilities of the Xenomorphs into the bodies of their successors, the 'Elders' Council would periodically select a suitable Xenomorph as a sacrifice, dismember him alive, and distribute the remains among the successors. This ritual was filled with fanaticism, bloodshed, and brutality; it is the darkest chapter in the history of the Xenomorphs!"
Theodore covered his forehead with his hand, trembling all over: "I joined the 'Elders' Council' to fight for peace and tranquility for the alien races, not to become an accomplice to this disgusting ritual!"
“After participating in one of the ‘Eclipse Rituals,’ I chose to distance myself from the central leadership of the ‘Elders’ Council’ and came to the Silver Ring Kingdom to take over the ‘Relief Society’ here. I hope to find a way, a more reasonable and civilized way, to strengthen the power of the alien races.” Theodore looked at Todd, his eyes filled with hope and expectation: “From the first time we met, I knew that you and I are both scholars burdened with a mission. We pursue the truth, but we have not lost our conscience.”
Todd gave the old man a deep look: "Mr. Theodore, this invitation you gave me was probably your own idea, wasn't it? What exactly do you hope to get from me?"
Theodore glanced at Rachel: "Compared to the 'Elders' Council,' I see a place more suitable for the survival of aliens."
The man with the prominent throat, sitting next to the old man, widened his eyes: "Chairman, do you know what you're saying?! These people are lackeys of the Church's Knights! To side with them is to side with the Church!"
Theodore looked at the 'umbrella' symbol on the knight's armor and laughed.
