In the magnificent and luxurious Muxi Grand Theater, the heavy curtains of gilded purple basil were removed and replaced with elegant white gauze curtains; the solid wood stage was temporarily transformed and covered with a bright red carpet; countless flowers and green plants decorated every corner of the venue, making the interior of this huge domed building look more like a garden.
The originally closely connected audience seats were divided into several areas by ribbons and potted plants.
On the first floor of the theater, the central area was occupied by the officials and knights of the Twilight Knights, the left side of the audience seats were occupied by guests from the Twilight City Guild, the University, the Alliance, and other institutions, while the right side of the audience seats had the most diverse composition.
Sitting at the very front of the right-hand audience seats were the three major races: elves, orcs, and werewolves. They held a numerical advantage within the Crusader Army, hence their prominent positions.
The Crusader soldiers in the middle section of the right-hand audience area are mostly minotaurs, dwarves, lizardmen, and so on. Although their numbers are small, they mostly play important military roles within the Crusader army.
The last part of the Crusader's army is quite diverse, including harpies, rat-headed people, dwarfs, and so on.
Moreover, the seating arrangement and order among each species is also quite interesting.
For example, the elves sat at the far right front of the entire theater, making sure they were far away from any humans.
The minotaurs demanded that the dwarves not get too close to them, because "the dwarves always smell of money."
The second floor of the theater, also known as the VIP seating area, was occupied by cabinet members from the city hall, the highest-ranking officer of the Knights, a gathering of shamans from the Crusader army, and of course, the supreme Deirdre, as well as the jewel of the entire kingdom—Princess Aurora.
In addition to these people, a special guest was invited to the wedding – the mermaid clan chief, Ms. Rita.
This mermaid chieftain possessed stunning beauty, but what was most remarkable was that she transformed the once desolate Wailing Island into a burgeoning commercial center for the entire kingdom in just a few months.
As the ancient woodwind instruments slowly rise, the notes of the harp, like a mountain spring flowing in a brook, nourish everyone's body and mind.
Aurora, who was sitting in a chair, immediately stood up when she heard the music start and ran to the edge of the second-floor stands, standing on tiptoe to try and see what was happening downstairs.
"Sit back down!" Deirdre, dressed in her finest attire, glared at Aurora and said in a low voice, "Don't forget the etiquette you were taught in your daily lessons!"
With his white hair and beard, Cumberland waved to his servants, who cheerfully placed a footstool next to Aurora's feet, watching with doting eyes as the princess climbed onto the stool and leaned against the railing.
Then, Cumberland smiled at Deirdre and said, "The princess is still young, so it's natural for her to like to play."
Deirdre frowned, then nodded and said nothing more.
When Cumberland returned, Prime Minister Emerson's eyes were fixed ahead, but his voice was audible only to the old knight: "She is the princess's mother, and your actions are tantamount to challenging her authority."
Cumberland sat down in his chair, crossed his arms, and said softly, "She is not yet the queen."
Emerson turned around in surprise, only to find that his old friend's gaze was fixed on the last seat of the second-floor stands.
Near the back corner, at the very end of the table, Mary, who was in charge of the royal finances and was also the Queen of St. Victory, sat quietly flipping through the brochure of the season's women's clothing.
She was wearing a rather plain dress, and a long-brimmed hat covered most of her face.
He seemed somewhat absent-minded, as if he had no interest in anything around him.
Emerson turned around and lowered his voice: "I'm warning you, don't cause trouble."
Cumberland shrugged.
On the left side of the first floor, the human guests from Twilight City were discussing the newlyweds who were getting married today.
“I’ve heard that some people in the city are already planning to propose to the elven woman.”
What are the advantages of marrying an elf woman?
"According to the research findings of Twilight University, elves age at only one-fifteenth the rate of humans."
"What's the meaning?"
"Imagine if you marry a human woman, when you're in your seventies or eighties, you'll come home to a grumpy old woman; but if you marry an elf woman, she'll always be young and beautiful."
Such words were heard from one side of the theater to the other.
The elves seated in the Crusader's quarters all had ashen faces.
Some of the elves, in their anger, had pale blue patterns of light flickering on their bodies, which looked particularly glaring in the dim theater.
In the strange atmosphere of the venue, urged on by the music, today's groom, Randall, finally came out from backstage.
Perhaps due to nervousness, Randall nearly tripped and fell when he stepped onto the stage.
This scene drew laughter from the audience.
Some people were whistling and shouting, "Relax! You're the luckiest guy in town today!"
The high priest, who was in charge of the wedding ceremony, watched as Randall walked to his side. Then he nodded to the priest beside him, indicating that the wedding could officially begin.
As the soothing music transitioned into a solemn hymn, the theater doors were slowly pushed open.
First to enter through the gate were a group of flower children carrying wooden baskets. These seven- or eight-year-old boys and girls skipped and hopped into the venue, scattering flower petals from their baskets into the air.
On a red carpet strewn with petals, a bride in a pure white wedding dress and a floral crown slowly walked toward the stage.
