The clock in the car shows the current time as 8:45 PM.
The night in Las Vegas was still brightly lit, and the annoying music from the casino entrance and the noisy laughter of drunks on the streets could still be heard in the distance.
Clemens, who hadn't slept well for days, yawned as he leaned against the window of the Hummer.
Major Cole stared at the readings on the screen while impatiently fiddling with his gun.
Just when Clemens thought he was about to fall asleep, the car's monitor suddenly emitted a piercing warning sound.
The originally pale green screen suddenly turned bright red, and the reading in the upper right corner of the screen increased rapidly as if by magic.
Major Cole's eyes widened, he shoved the headset into his hand, and shouted into the microphone, "Singularity appeared! I repeat, singularity appeared! Everyone, take your positions..."
Before he could finish speaking, a huge pale blue halo suddenly spread rapidly outwards from downtown Las Vegas.
In the area affected by the halo, flashing neon lights exploded in sparks, and the loudspeakers playing music fell silent in the stillness.
From the air, all the lights in Las Vegas went out in an instant, plunging the entire city into complete darkness.
Clemens' Hummer also suffered the same fate; all onboard equipment malfunctioned and all communication connections were lost.
Major Cole stared at the black screen and roared, "Damn it! What's going on?!"
After checking, the subordinate quickly reported, "Sir, we may have just encountered an electromagnetic storm; all electronic equipment has malfunctioned!"
Major Cole slammed the headset onto the screen and roared, "Repair it immediately! In the shortest possible time, I want..."
Clemens, who had been gazing out the window, suddenly opened his eyes wide and interrupted Major Cole: "Major, you should come and see this!"
Major Cole looked in the direction of the sound and was so shocked by what he saw outside the car that he forgot to breathe.
About a kilometer away from them, a dazzling and bright spot of light appeared out of nowhere in mid-air.
The spot of light was originally only the size of a coin, but it is growing larger at an extremely fast rate.
In just over ten seconds, it turned into a white hole taller than a person.
Clemens and Major Cole exchanged a glance, and the same word flashed through their minds simultaneously—singularity eruption.
Major Cole glanced at the pitch-black steering wheel inside the vehicle, muttered a curse under his breath, and then gave the order: "Everyone, abandon the vehicle, take a single load of ammunition and weapons, and get to the vicinity of the singularity as quickly as possible!"
The Hummer's hatch opened, and fully armed soldiers filed out.
Major Cole tossed aside his useless electronic devices, drew his pistol, and said to Clemens, "Professor, tonight is destined to be a moment of witnessing miracles."
The latter glanced at the eerie white hole in the distance, gritted his teeth, and then jumped out of the Hummer.
The group of people were running at full speed down the street towards the White Hole.
Along the way, due to the electromagnetic storm, there were out-of-control vehicles everywhere on the road.
Upon seeing the white hole, the surrounding citizens and tourists rushed to the center of the street as if they had discovered a gold mine.
"Damn it! Make way!" Major Cole shoved through the crowd as he pushed his way toward the white hole. "You're obstructing official business! Anyone who doesn't want to go to jail, get out of my way!"
Just as the group was struggling to make their way along the road, a deafening cry suddenly erupted from the crowd closest to the white hole: "My God! Someone's coming out of there!"
"Incredible! Someone else has come out!"
Upon hearing the voice, Major Cole tensed up, quickened his pace, and became rougher with his hands.
He raised his fist and pushed aside all the people blocking his way, finally leading his men to the vicinity of the white hole, where they saw the group of "people" who had emerged from the singularity.
This group of "people" looks very strange. They do have human appearance and physical characteristics, but their clothing and accessories are more like those from centuries ago.
Major Cole held a pistol in one hand and made a circle in the air with the other.
Soon, the well-trained soldiers spread out, raised their weapons, and surrounded the group of "uninvited guests" who had emerged from the white hole.
Upon closer inspection of the group of outsiders, Major Cole noticed that some of them were carrying swords and knives. He shouted, "Put down your weapons, lie down on the ground, and don't do anything out of line!"
His words seemed to have no effect. The outsiders who came out of the white hole were looking around curiously and discussing, their expressions showing excitement, unease, and confusion.
Major Cole shouted his warning again: "I'll say it one more time! Put down your weapons!"
Clemens walked up behind Major Cole and whispered, "They don't seem to understand what you're saying."
The white hole continues to slowly expand, and more and more people are emerging from it.
The first group to emerge consisted mostly of men carrying weapons, while the group that followed was more diverse, including women, the elderly, and children—all sorts of people.
Clemens scratched his head as he saw the men and said to Major Cole again, "I suggest you have your men put down their guns. They don't look...very threatening."
Major Cole frowned and said, "Professor, whatever it is, once it comes out of the singularity, who knows what might happen? It won't hurt us to be cautious."
As they spoke, wave after wave of outsiders emerged from the white hole; a rough count revealed that their numbers had exceeded three hundred.
