When Todd used his ability to enter the consciousness of the Necromancer's Mother using the power of the Soul Space, he discovered that the entire Soul World was no longer what it used to be.
Boundless darkness engulfed the entire space, and the earth was riddled with holes, with giant pits and deep caves everywhere.
A towering tree, constructed from undead parasites, is located at the very center of the world, constantly spreading and growing outwards.
Billions of undead parasites twisted and entangled with each other, forming the trunk and branches of the tree. They wriggled and changed into the shapes of various creatures.
Pain, wailing, despair—the final expressions of living beings before their death become models for parasites to imitate.
Rachel turned her head away, forcing herself not to look at the undead.
Todd focused his attention on the undead tree, where pale blue particles slowly moved within the undead parasites, progressing from the roots to the top before disappearing into the horizon.
Todd beckoned to Rachel, gesturing for her to come closer.
Rachel walked to Todd's side, extended her right hand, and an oil lamp appeared in her hand, illuminating a space several meters in diameter.
To her surprise, when the light shone into the pits in the ground, countless parasites, like rats, crawled out of the ground and kept moving towards the light source.
Pulling the screaming Rachel behind him, Todd waved his hands, and a giant ball of light floated in mid-air, instantly illuminating the vast space.
The blinding, dazzling light forced the undead parasite to struggle and retreat, and it quickly burrowed into the ground, disappearing from sight.
Standing behind Todd, Rachel whispered, "We must gain control of the Necronomicon, but the question is, how?"
Todd turned his gaze to the distant undead tree and said, "Perhaps the answer lies there."
Surrounded by light, the two walked step by step toward the center of the undead consciousness.
Looking down from above, in the vast, dark space, a tiny point of light is slowly moving toward a "giant tree".
Todd controlled the light with his will and finally reached the "Necromancer Tree" in the boundless darkness.
The "giant tree," entangled with countless parasites, looks like an incredibly thick, deformed blood vessel. It pulsates rhythmically and makes eerie sounds, instilling endless fear in anyone who gets close.
Todd looked at the surface of the undead tree, at the faint blue particles of light inside. He was very familiar with them; they were the souls of living beings, some human, some animal, and some he couldn't identify.
Rachel frowned as she stared at the tangled undead parasites and asked Todd, "Don't tell me that to control the Necromancer Mother, I have to touch these things."
Todd stretched out his palm and slowly approached the undead tree: "I think we have no other choice."
Sensing the presence of living beings, countless parasitic tentacles gathered on the surface of the undead giant tree.
They twisted into a braid shape, extending from the tree trunk and moving ever closer to Todd's palm.
When Todd touched the undead parasites, countless pale blue particles emerged from his body, gradually merging with the undead giant tree.
Chaos, like a tidal wave, eroded Todd's soul, as if thousands of voices were trying to persuade him to abandon his sanity and join the ranks of the undead.
Todd gritted his teeth, using the only remaining sanity in his mind to resist the will of the undead.
Rachel gripped Todd's arm tightly, prepared to break the link at any moment. She shouted at him, "Don't let the will of the undead defeat you! Resist them!"
After an unknown amount of time, the undead giant tree slowly accepted his presence.
Todd's entire body was covered in necromancy, with only his head exposed.
Pale blue particles tumbled and flickered in his pupils.
Every vein, every branch, every root of the Necromancer Tree unfolded slowly in Todd's mind like a complete map.
“I can…see…” Todd said with difficulty, “everything in this world…”
A 3D holographic projection lit up in mid-air.
The entire planet of this other world, including its sky, ocean, land, and underground, was displayed.
Every active individual on the planet, including humans, animals, and the undead, was illuminated, and every city and every ruin was marked in detail.
Todd highlighted all the undead, instantly covering the entire planet, both on the surface and underground, with a dense, overwhelming presence.
Looking at the scene on the projection, Rachel murmured, "They're right, the undead have taken over this world."
Todd then turned his attention to Twilight City.
Apocalyptic disasters such as tsunamis and earthquakes are relentlessly ravaging Twilight City, and the bright spots representing life are rapidly disappearing.
Rachel said to Todd, "We must find a way to protect Twilight City."
With a flick of his finger, Todd sent the undead parasites from the ground toward the surface of Twilight City, driven by his will.
These parasites, like threads, pierced through the soil beneath Muxi City, slowly pulling the cracked earth together and repeatedly reinforcing the city's foundation to ensure that earthquakes would no longer cause serious damage.
Then, Todd turned his gaze to the sea to the west of Twilight City.
The tsunami, which reached heights of tens of meters, destroyed Jiliu Island and the port area of Muxi City, and even flooded into the main urban area.
