Todd and Deirdre had a daughter named Aurora. Todd lived in constant worry and self-blame because of this, and he always felt that he should bear most of the responsibility for Aurora's health problems.
That's why Todd hesitated so much when facing humans and the Crusaders, not wanting these believers to suffer the same fate as him.
Having figured all this out, Mary reached out and gently smoothed the wrinkles on Todd's forehead, saying softly, "You seem to have forgotten something very important."
"The most important thing?"
"emotion."
Mary rested her head on Todd's chest and said slowly, "Human or other race, the union is always voluntary, and no one forces anyone. When one being falls in love with another, race, origin, wealth, appearance, family... nothing can become an obstacle to their love."
"Emotion is the most powerful force in the world. It can turn the most timid coward into the bravest warrior, and the most cruel thug into the most devout believer."
Mary gently kissed Todd's chin and said softly, "Even you, the Holy King, cannot stop a woman's pursuit and longing for love."
Todd lowered his head, looking into the light in Mary's eyes, and said helplessly, "So, what's your advice on this matter...?"
Mary leaned forward, pushing Todd down onto the sofa. She slowly bent down, reaching her hands under her body, and whispered with a smile in Todd's ear, "Let nature take its course."
