When Todd entered the Mother Nest that Eleanor had mentioned, he was not only shocked by what he saw, but also gasped in astonishment.
The vast underground space covers an area the size of three football fields.
Rows upon rows of vertically installed culture tanks are evenly placed in the center of the underground hall, while a dense network of pipes for transporting liquids and gases spreads like capillaries throughout every corner of the hall.
Todd approached a culture tank containing the body of an adult male floating in liquid, with countless tubes inserted into his body.
Todd asked Eleanor, "Who are these people?"
Eleanor touched the culture tank with her hand and said, "The result of heterozygous breeding, my carefully selected child."
Todd's expression turned serious: "I'm asking about their identities."
Eleanor said, "I told you before that in order to prolong the lifespan of the Xenomorphs, I had powerful Xenomorphs mate and reproduce to produce offspring with even stronger abilities. Then, with the help of Eliard's life technology, I extracted the physiological tissues of those offspring, cultivated them, and sealed them here."
Todd looked at the man in the incubation tank: "So, these people are all clones of powerful mutants?"
“That’s not all,” Eleanor said, pointing to the pipes. “The first Xenomorph cloning experiments in Eliard involved extracting a part of an Xenomorph’s body and growing it into an adult.”
"But this method has a drawback: the cloned individuals are actually new life forms, possessing complete bodies and souls."
Eleanor looked at Todd: "Ratchel is the product of Eliard's first alien replication experiments."
"The first batch of alien clones, after learning that they were consumables used to provide organs and bodies, organized a riot that caused considerable trouble for me and Eliad."
“After that, Eliard improved the replication experiment. He added a purification process to the cultivation process to ensure that each replicated individual only had a physical body and no soul.”
Todd's heart tightened upon hearing this: "Only a body, no soul?"
"Yes, a soulless body, so it can be taken at any time for the repair and soul transfer of alien species, and there is no risk of riots."
Todd slowly closed his eyes and sighed deeply: "Your actions have crossed my line."
Eleanor gently placed her hands on Todd's shoulders and whispered in his ear, "I like people with principles, but principles can't protect you from the enemy's swords and spears."
Todd opened his eyes: "You said before that you have a way to fight off the undead. Where is that way?"
Eleanor slowly released Todd: "Come with me."
Passing through rows of culture tanks, Todd followed Eleanor to one of the innermost culture tanks in the hall.
This enormous culture tank is ten times the size of a normal culture tank. It has much more complex piping, and there are even gunpowder barrels around the tank, which are similar to self-destruct devices.
Todd stared intently at the enormous culture tank, and using his X-ray vision, he saw the figure of a woman in the culture medium.
It was a body completely covered by parasitic limbs, with two pairs of wings made up of huge parasitic limbs extending outward from the back of the woman's body.
Eleanor looked at the incubation tank and said, "Remember when I told you that Theodore, who was researching the Necromancers, gave me a gift, saying it was a body that could grant immortality?"
Todd carefully observed the culture tank and suddenly noticed countless black insects swirling around the woman.
These black insects, in both appearance and movement, are extremely similar to necromancy parasites.
“Iliad not only shared the Resurrection Worm with Theodore, but also gave him a clone of my body tissue that I had grown.”
"Theodore used the technology of the Necromancers, plus a whole bunch of other random things, to create this hideous monster."
Eleanor seemed extremely dissatisfied with the body surrounded by parasites: "Although she has my appearance and body, and in Theodore's words, she can also control the Necromancers and never age, I will never allow myself to become such an ugly being."
Ignoring Eleanor's complaints, Todd approached the culture tank and carefully observed the female body.
Numerous keel-like parasites completely enveloped the body; on the chest, there was a protrusion resembling a honeycomb parasite, and looking into the honeycomb, one could see a large number of undead parasites swimming inside the woman's body; on the back, huge parasitic limbs grew outwards, resembling two wings about to take flight.
Eleanor leaned closer to Todd: "See this? This body is Theodore's first creation in his research on the undead. She has the power to control undead parasites. If you can possess her, you can unlock the secrets of the undead, and your kingdom can be saved as a result."
Todd carefully examined the necromantic parasites in the tank and said, "If what Theodore said is true, and possessing this body grants the power to control the undead, then why don't you use it?"
Eleanor shook her head: "Like I said, I will not let my body become a corpse, nor will I let my appearance become such an ugly form. She is of no use to me, but she is your savior."
Todd turned to Eleanor and asked, "What do you want?"
Eleanor brushed a stray hair behind her ear and moved closer to Todd's face: "Isn't it obvious enough? What I want is... you."
Todd suddenly felt dizzy, and his consciousness became hazy, as if he were drunk.
Eleanor gently unbuttoned her blouse, revealing her delicate and fair skin, and lightly brushed her lips against Todd's neck: "I don't understand what's so good about that little wooden puppet. She's just a part of me."
"She's like a sample of a delicious meal. Now that you've already tasted her, why not try me?"
Eleanor slowly brought her lips to Todd's, a strange light flashing in her eyes: "Todd, possess me, now, right here."
As their lips drew closer, Todd suddenly opened his eyes wide, and dragon scales appeared on his skin. Then, a powerful force sent Eleanor flying.
"What did you do to me?!"
Todd's roar made Eleanor, who had fallen to the ground, stand up angrily. She muttered to herself, "If we've been found out, there's nothing we can do."
Todd's body slowly grew larger, his hands transforming into dragon claws, and dragon flames flickered in and out of his mouth: "I'm warning you! Don't try anything funny!"
Eleanor dusted herself off, acting as if nothing had happened: "Let's renegotiate the terms?"
“I can let you take this body back to Muxi City, but I have one condition.”
"explain!"
"I want all the information about the Crusader's conversion ritual. I want to know the tyrant's secrets."
