Hours later, when Scáthach dived into the deep sea and saw the fish-man city before her, she exclaimed in shock, "What...what have you done?!"
Leviathan shielded the city with his own body and said to Scáthach, "I'm just protecting my child."
"This race is extinct, vanished! Do you understand?!" Scáthach's voice rose: "We are the pioneers, we shouldn't interfere with the laws of the world, it will break the balance!"
"balance?"
Leviathan twisted his body, as if he heard an utterly ridiculous term: "If you call the recurring cycle of genocide 'balance,' then you're like a lowly creature that never learns from its mistakes, repeating them over and over again!"
“Our duty is to observe and record! Not to create and destroy wantonly!” Scáthach shook her head vigorously and said, “I know you have a habit of harboring souls, and I sympathize with you and understand you, which is why I turned a blind eye and didn’t object. But! To bring back those races that have already been eliminated is beyond my limit of tolerance!”
Leviathan unleashed a forest of tentacles, facing Scáthach directly: "I've had enough of your so-called observation! I will protect my children, even if my opponent is my creator!"
Todd lowered his head, looking at the cowering fish-men in the city below. Helpless, he swam between Leviathan and Scáthach and said, "Gentlemen, please wait a moment. Can we continue our discussion somewhere else?"
Seeing the two pioneers turn their gaze to him, Todd looked down at the city below, once again indicating that this was not a good place to argue.
After finding a quiet spot in the sea, Todd first said to Scáthach, "The Pioneers' responsibility is to assist Crystal Star in conducting experiments on species and obtaining data and information. Am I right in understanding this?"
Scáthach nodded and said, "That's right."
"So, regarding your duties and authority, is there any provision that prohibits you from indirectly influencing this world?"
Scáthach frowned: "Indirect influence?"
"Think about it, you train those heroes in the Shadow Kingdom and give them those ancient weapons. Doesn't that count as influencing the world?"
Scáthach pondered for a moment before replying, "That is indeed an indirect influence, but compared to Leviathan, my actions have only a negligible impact. He, however, reactivated a group of races that should have been eliminated!"
Before Leviathan could retort, Todd continued his analysis: "As your creator—the Crystal Star—it acts as the manager of the entire universe, monitoring the entire world. Do you really think that it is unaware of the actions of all living beings?"
Leviathan rolled its enormous eyes: "You mean, the Creator always knew about my actions, but he chose to acquiesce?"
Todd slowly said, "As I understand it, as the leader of the life experiment, Crystal might allow the pioneers to adjust the environment and samples in a controlled manner, without compromising the entire experiment."
Scáthach asked doubtfully, "Moderation?"
"Based on the basic elements of an experiment, if the purpose, rules, principles, procedures, etc. of a rigorous experiment are constants that cannot be changed, then the sample, temperature, pressure, pH, etc. are variables. I think that, without disrupting the experimental constants, Jingsu might agree to let you influence the variables."
Leviathan thought for a moment and replied, "I understand what you mean."
Scáthach questioned, "According to you, Leviathan's reactivation of those exterminated races does not violate the Creator's orders?"
Todd raised his dragon claw and pointed it at himself: "You may have all heard about the Crusaders. I used biotechnology to transform a large number of humans into an extinct alien race. If this action had crossed Crystal's bottom line, he should have intervened long ago."
Scáthach stroked her chin and thought for a moment, then had to admit that Todd had a point.
Leviathan said to Todd, "Let's put this topic aside for now. I remember you said you already have a plan for dealing with genocide wars?"
"It's not really a solution; it's just an immature idea."
Todd curled his dragon tail, clasped his forelimbs together, and bowed his head, saying, "According to the history of racial development, when war breaks out between different races, it first causes the extinction of many races. When a victor emerges, that victorious race will eventually perish due to civil war."
Leviathan added: "Humans are the initiators, leaders and terminators of wars of genocide. They are hostile to, enslaved and assimilate other races, and ultimately kill each other out of greed and desire, leading to the end of one era after another."
Scáthach shook her head slightly, expressing her disagreement: "We cannot place all the blame on humanity. Even without the human race, extinction wars would still eventually break out between different races."
Todd organized his thoughts and slowly said, "In my opinion, the occurrence of racial wars and the arrival of the extinction era can be mainly attributed to two reasons: desire and faith."
“I have seen the historical fragments you showed me. Most wars between different races began with unbridled greed or different beliefs. For example, the desire for a certain ability, technology, or land of another race, or the differences in beliefs and doctrines caused by worshipping different gods. These are the sources of war.”
Leviathan agreed: "For humanity, endless greed and a lack of faith are the reasons they wage war."
