Todd said warily, "Let's get down to business. You've probably heard about the spread of the undead plague."
Eleanor said nonchalantly, "Of course I know about Theodore's failed experiments."
"The plague has completely destroyed the city of Tero and has begun to spread to the surrounding areas. Many kingdoms on the continent have become lands of the dead."
"I know all that."
Todd emphasized, "The notes and principles of necromancy originated from the Elders. I believe you have a way to stop the continued spread of the undead."
Eleanor stretched and asked, "Why should we stop the undead?"
Todd was taken aback, then asked, "What do you mean by that?"
Eleanor said, “Although I don’t get along with that old man Eliard, we agree on at least one thing. That is, this world simply cannot tolerate the existence of outsiders. We are outcasts and monsters in the eyes of those worldly people. They will not show us any pity or mercy, and have always believed that the best fate for outsiders is to be burned at the stake.”
“Todd, think about it. Isn’t the spread of the undead plague a good thing? It’s helping the alien races to purge the world of worldly forces, allowing them to become the ones who ultimately hold power.”
Todd denied it without hesitation: "Once the undead spread, they will completely destroy all the kingdoms and living things in the world, including the Council of Elders. Do you really think you can survive this disaster?"
Eleanor laughed and said, "It seems Illid wasn't telling you the truth."
"What?"
"Did he tell you that he was powerless to stop this necromantic catastrophe?"
You mean he's lying?
Eleanor stood up from her chair, slowly walked to Todd's side, leaned down and pressed her ear against his back, whispering, "The old man and I both have ways to deal with the undead, but he'll never tell you... As for me, I'll see how you perform..."
