As Evie watched Todd's departing figure, she suddenly shouted, "Oh, right! Don't forget! Tonight!"
Todd turned around and looked at Evie with a puzzled expression.
The latter sat up straight and said confidently, "Remember this! I gave myself to Deirdre last night, but tonight you belong to me!"
Todd chuckled to himself.
As Todd walked into the rear corridor of the Muxi Palace, he heard a melodious zither tune drifting from the sky.
Pushing open the door to the common room at the far end of the rear hall, Aurora sat on the piano bench with a bitter face, clumsily playing the harp in front of her.
Upon seeing Todd's arrival, Aurora's eyes lit up, and she called out loudly, "Father!"
The female musicians and their assistants, who were originally in charge of giving lessons, were so frightened by the arrival of the Holy King that they immediately knelt down on the ground. Everyone was dazed and sweating profusely, but they couldn't even finish a simple greeting.
"Aurora, pack your things, I'm taking you to town today!"
Todd's words were like a long-awaited rain after a drought, a precious and delightful surprise for his daughter.
Aurora kicked the harp over, wiggled the little dragon's tail behind her, grabbed Todd's sleeve, and dashed out of the hall.
Those who remained looked at each other, but no one dared to speak up and stop them.
Half an hour later, Aurora changed into casual clothes, combed her hair back, and tied it into two braids that hung down her cheeks. A round, disc-shaped cloth cover made of fine linen concealed her dragon horns, and a thick pleated skirt hid her dragon tail.
Skipping and hopping behind Todd, Aurora asked loudly, "Daddy, where are we going?"
Todd stroked his chin and thought for a moment before saying, "Come with me to the port area first. There's a place I'd like to show you."
