That's very strange.
The library's main door was open, and there was a figure inside. The security guards seemed not to see him, and continued to patrol around as if nothing was wrong.
Zhou Xiaoning suddenly became furious.
Her delicate face had some freckles, and now they were all bright red.
It must be! Absolutely!
These security guards took money from the family and did nothing but shirk their duties. No, they must have taken money from others to steal their family's ancient books!
Sell it, okay, I can tolerate that.
As a junior, she had already done everything she could by arguing her case reasonably, so there wasn't much else to say.
But if it were stolen, she felt that her great-grandfather would be so angry that he would jump out of his coffin, his body riddled with over a hundred bullet holes and spitting blood!
"Hey, you guys!" Zhou Xiaoning ran over.
She wanted to question the security guard, saying that even though she was a weak woman, she had to fight the thief!
Suddenly, everything went blurry. Even though I had rushed to the security guard's side, I couldn't see him. I turned around in surprise and found a very cute little yellow cat standing at the door.
"Meow? You can see through my demonic realm?"
Tiger Tyrant didn't share Fang Zong's love for books. When he noticed Fang Zong was engrossed in reading, he sat at the doorway, basking in the sun and licking his paws.
Then, Zhou Xiaoning rushed over.
He was astonished, his cat eyes flashing with an eerie light. Suddenly, he meowed excitedly, "Fang Zong, come out and see the monster! This woman has no energy nodes or yin-yang eyes, but she actually has a monster's eyeball! Her left eye is a monster's eye!"
"Get lost, I want to read a book... What? A monster's eye?"
Fang Zong turned his head away.
The library was dimly lit, and Zhou Xiaoning could only see a silhouette. When Fang Zong turned his head, she saw that his eyes were blazing with pure blue flames, like will-o'-the-wisps. She thought to herself, "You're the one with monster eyes!"
Because she had seen monsters before, Zhou Xiaoning was not afraid of Fang Zong.
Fang Zong walked out, first stepping on the sunlight shining in, and then his entire body.
Zhou Xiaoning noticed that Fang Zong was tall, with well-defined muscles, and very handsome.
He glanced at the little yellow cat and suddenly realized, "You're a monster like this cat, aren't you?"
He suddenly took a step back, his face hardening as he threatened, "Whether you're a monster or not, tell me who you are and what you're doing here? Hurry up, or I'll call the police, I'll call the demon-slaying squad!"
Everything seemed eerie. If a monster wanted to steal the book, it would have been easy for it to do so. How could she have discovered it?
"Hehe, the Ghost Slayer Team?" Fang Zong smiled meaningfully, also a little embarrassed at being caught red-handed. He waved the ancient book in his hand and said, "I just wanted to read more books, I didn't mean to steal. Actually, if I had enough money, I would have bought them all."
"Just reading?" Zhou Xiaoning was very skeptical.
Fang Zong nodded: "If I wanted to steal, no, even rob, you couldn't stop me, could you?"
Okay, very strong reason, this man is very confident.
Zhou Xiaoning bitterly realized that the other person's confidence was quite reasonable.
The monster stealing their books was as simple as the guy who stole her wallet before.
It's already a sign of their kindness that they didn't pack anything else to take with them...
"Fine, watch it if you want, it'll be sold sooner or later anyway."
Zhou Xiaoning's face darkened.
Fang Zong smiled but didn't say anything.
He continued reading.
July 23, 2019.
Great Heat!
When it gets really hot, even the old dogs on the roadside are panting and sticking out their tongues.
The relatives were still unwilling to accept not getting ownership of the library, and each wanted a larger share or even to take it all. Unfortunately, none of them were direct blood relatives of the great-grandfather, so they couldn't reach a conclusion.
Zhou Xiaoning also wanted to compete, but not for the money. She had loved reading and writing since childhood. Knowing that her family had this library, she transferred schools here and stayed for ten years. Now, as a college student, she has published a collection of essays and two novels, and is a well-known 'student writer' on campus.
She used all the royalties she received to buy books, but her family's library was about to be sold by her relatives and elders. You can imagine how resentful she felt.
Zhou Xiaoning walked to the entrance of the library and found Fang Zong still reading.
Looking around, I was surprised to find that the building was so clean and tidy. The bookshelves, cabinets, and windowsills were spotless, all the books were neatly arranged, and there was not a speck of dust in the grout lines of the floor tiles. The stair railings were polished to a shine.
Since the argument started, the building has been locked up for more than half a month. Logically speaking, even if it wasn't covered in dust, it shouldn't be this clean. Could it be that this person cleaned it all?
[He spent half a month reading and half a month cleaning?]
Zhou Xiaoning stared at Fang Zong's back, somewhat mesmerized.
"No! He's a monster! A monster just like her!"
Zhou Xiaoning shook her head vigorously, her ponytail hitting the old glass window.
"Tap tap..." Suddenly, the sound of knocking on the glass came from behind.
Fang Zong turned his head and smiled. He opened the window, holding a book in his hand.
Zhou Xiaoning blushed and asked, "Are you still reading?"
"Yes, I'm a little engrossed," Fang Zong replied with a smile.
He knew he was neglecting his important business by spending so much time reading, but the fragrance of ink and the flavor between the lines of these ancient books completely captivated him.
"Actually, I was looking for the top ten yin places, but I got so engrossed that I forgot about them all."
"Have you found it yet?" Zhou Xiaoning's eyes revealed a sly glint.
