Chapter 45 Gun Users

"Is anyone there? I'm from the Final Fortress!"

Every few steps Wang Lan took, he would shout loudly, and his voice would echo endlessly in the cave.

In fact, Wang Lan was gambling. He was betting that the person who fired the shot was not from the final fortress, but a survivor ravaged by the infectious virus.

Judging from the bullet holes on the infected person's body, the person was clearly not proficient in using a handgun. It would take an average of four shots to kill an infected person. Although all the shots hit the head, which is a fatal wound, the bullet holes on the body were too scattered, and it cannot be ruled out that there was an element of luck involved.

As the person in charge of the safe zone, especially under these circumstances, Wang Lan felt that the person sent out should not be someone with the skill level of a mere gun whiz.

A headshot with one shot is the norm.

Wang Lan even speculated that the gun only had fifteen bullets. The first eleven were used to kill the infected, and the remaining four bullets were intended to kill Lu Ren and the others, but unfortunately, the skill was too poor, and none of the four bullets hit the target.

Ordinary civilians had never even seen a gun, let alone reloaded one. If Lu Ren and his group hadn't been afraid of the gun's power and dared not go forward, they would have probably killed that man and then robbed him.

"Is anyone there? I'm from the Final Fortress!"

Wang Lan continued shouting.

At that moment, someone finally responded to him.

A man's voice, trembling, came from the darkness ahead.

"Who are you?"

Wang Lan stopped and said, "I am from the Final Fortress, and I have come to save you."

A man's voice rang out, "I'm also from the Final Fortress. How can you prove you're one of us?"

Wang Lan countered, "Then how can you prove you're one of us?"

"I have a gun! If you don't believe me, look at the corpses on the ground; I shot them all!"

Wang Lan's eyes darted around, and she said in broken English, "Em is the heaviest, carrying him is exhausting!"

"What...what the hell are you saying?"

Wang Lan sneered, already certain that the other party was a cunning, idiotic civilian. He explained, "I speak English, I'm from the Final Fortress, and I also have a headlamp, which is powered by electricity!"

As he spoke, Wang Lan shook his head, and the light from his headlamp swayed left and right in response.

"Okay! I believe you're one of us, so go ahead!"

"good!"

Wang Lan replied and then continued walking forward.

He saw that the end of the tunnel was an earthen wall, and below the wall were several iron pipes that looked a bit like elongated guns. Wang Lan judged that they might be a type of gun, but one he had never seen before.

But this is an excellent discovery. Having guns in this chaotic world is like taking one's strength a step further.

However, just as Wang Lan was both surprised and delighted, a figure jumped out from beside the stone wall, pointing a pistol at Wang Lan.

"Don't move!"

Wang Lan was taken aback because he recognized the man with the gun.

"Er Niu Zi!"

Da Ming Shengli is a notorious bully in the safe zone. He is a coward who picks on the weak and often takes advantage of his large size to rob the weak of their food and supplies.

Erniu was also surprised when he saw the person's face clearly.

"Wang Lan?"

As a notorious hoodlum, he might not know many people in the safe zone, but there were almost none he didn't know.

"You're kidding me!" Erniu glared angrily at Wang Lan, pushing his gun forward and pointing it at Wang Lan's head, saying, "You're a member of that damn fortress!"

Wang Lan frowned.

Since the other party pointed a gun at him, it meant that he had murderous intent, and once someone has murderous intent towards him, such a person cannot be allowed to live.

Wang Lan snorted and said, "You're not one of the people in the fortress either."

"But I have a gun!" Erniu aimed at Wang Lan's forehead and said, "I can forgive you for lying to me, but you have to protect me until the Eternal Night ends!"

Wang Lan shook her head without hesitation, "No."

A murderous glint flashed in Erniu's eyes. "If you don't protect me, I'll shoot you dead!"

Wang Lan sneered, "I bet your gun... has no bullets in it."

Erniu's eyes widened, and his face turned pale instantly.

“And…” Wang Lan smacked her lips, “I actually hate liars the most.”

"What?!"

Erniu's face was filled with fear.

Wang Lan gripped the Vajra Umbrella tightly as soon as he uttered his first words, and the instant Er Niu finished speaking, Wang Lan swung the Vajra Umbrella, sending Er Niu flying and crashing into the wall, where he was instantly killed.

"But thank you anyway for the equipment, my buddy."

Wang Lan glanced at the corpse and picked up the pistol from the ground.

A voice suddenly rang in my mind.

The system's voice fell silent after it finished speaking.

Wang Lan looked at the gun in her hand.

Immediately, a series of pieces of information about the gun flashed through my mind.

Information about the barrel, grip, firing mechanism, launching mechanism, and slide appeared one by one. It seemed that Wang Lan had a natural talent for the gun and knew it inside and out.

"No wonder…"
