Chapter 81 Collecting Meteorites

Yuewu could only come up with one answer: people are too lazy.

Before she could even knock, the door opened automatically, and a man around 40 years old walked out. He was wearing an ill-fitting suit and kept smoothing his hair back with his hand, thinking he looked handsome. In Yue Wu's eyes, he was just a pretentious idiot.

Yue Wu sighed to herself, "When you travel a lot, you're bound to encounter some oddballs."

But she tried her best to suppress her discomfort and communicate with the man opposite her in a polite tone, "Um, your house has a very stylish design, huh?"

"Absolutely. I repaired this old house bit by bit. Look at the other houses in the village, they're all the same, so boring, right?"

"Ha...hehe...yes."

"Could you show me how you repaired that house?"

"sure......"

Suddenly an old woman rushed out, frowning as she looked at Yuewu. "What are you doing here? Who are you? I've never seen you before."

The greasy man panicked. Wasn't his mother ruining his plans? He immediately leaned down and whispered to his mother, "Hurry up and come inside. Don't waste my time. Can't you see how much she admires me and wants to learn my house-repairing skills? Don't you want a daughter-in-law anymore?"

The old lady was very skeptical and didn't believe at all that the woman in front of her would appreciate her son's house-repairing skills, but she couldn't resist her son's temper and was pushed into the house.

The greasy man quickly ran back to Le Wu's side and invited her in. Then he eagerly brought over a ladder so that Le Wu could go up and watch.

Le Wu had no intention of going up; she dared not stand that high and have a man hold the ladder below.

Yuewu deliberately put on a gentle expression and asked the man to go to the designated spot to show it to him.

The man was initially puzzled, but in front of such a beautiful girl, he had to try to show his gentlemanly manners.

So they climbed the ladder, and Yuewu pointed to a patch of thatch and said, "Move that patch of thatch aside, let me take a look."

The man did as she was told, lifting the thatch, and Yue Wu saw the meteorite fragments on the wall below, and her heart immediately raced with excitement.

Pointing to the stone, she said to the man, "Could you help me take that stone down?"

"Of course, this is the one."

The man came down with the stone and was about to hand it to Yuewu when the old woman suddenly rushed out, snatched the stone, and examined it closely. Apart from being covered in mud, it was just an ugly stone.

The old lady squinted at the music and dance with her bright little eyes, as if trying to see through them.

Yue Wu smiled and said, "Did you notice anything?"

The old lady glanced at the music and dance, then looked down at the stone. "Then why do you insist on having this stone?"

"Don't you think it has been weathered by time, riddled with holes, and has a lot of artistic appeal? Although it's just a stone, the marks of time have etched its beauty on it. Those who know how to appreciate it will find it beautiful, while those who don't will find it worthless."

The old lady didn't understand anything else, but she knew the stone in her hand was valuable, so she immediately asked Yuewu, "How much are you planning to pay for it?"

The greasy man was unhappy. This was the person he had his eye on; how could money measure her worth?

The old lady wasn't going to tolerate him when it came to money. She shoved away his hand that was trying to grab it and continued to stare at the music and dance.

Yue Wu was also very direct, saying, "I didn't bring any money. I just thought it looked pretty cool from a distance, but now that I'm so close, I realize it's nothing special. I didn't expect this old rock to be so ugly and not worth much money."

As Yue Wu turned to leave, the old lady became anxious. "Hey, how can you do this? I made my son climb so high to get it for you, it's even on my roof, and now you're saying you don't want it anymore? I'm telling you, you have to buy it, or you're not leaving."

Le Wu laughed angrily, "You think I'll just buy it because you want me to? Everyone's here, help me judge this. You want this piece of junk? And you want money too?"

Some people around were egging her on, saying, "This old lady from the Huo family must be obsessed with money."

The greasy-looking men were too embarrassed to approach, feeling it was too shameful.

The old lady started throwing a tantrum, insisting that she had to buy it.

Le Wu couldn't stand it anymore. She rummaged in her bag, pulled out 10 yuan, and handed it to the old lady. "Take it if you want, or don't. I'm leaving soon anyway."

Upon hearing this, the old lady sprang to her feet, snatched the 10 yuan, threw the stone to Yuewu, and then turned to shoo people away.

Seeing that everyone had left her house, she immediately slammed the door shut.

Le Wu's lips were tightly pursed, trembling slightly. She clutched a fragment of meteorite in her hand, lowered her head, and quickly left, her heart already leaping with joy.

The meteorite was about the size of a fist. Yuewu secretly put it into her backpack and then entered the space, planning to open it when she returned.

Unexpectedly, the first piece of meteorite was a great success, and Yuewu immediately began to check the location of the second meteorite fragment.

Continue south along the road until you reach about halfway up the mountain, and you'll see a two-story building with fresh bok choy growing in the vegetable garden outside.

Yue Wu stepped forward and knocked on the door. After a while, a boy of about thirteen or fourteen years old came out and looked at Yue Wu with a puzzled expression. "Who are you looking for?"

"I came back with Feng Xuanlang. I was just passing by. Can I have a drink of water?" Yue Wu made up a reason.

The boy's eyes lit up as soon as he heard Feng Xuanlang's name, and his voice rose a few decibels, "Brother Lang is back! Come in quickly, I'll get you some water!" Then he turned and ran into the house, calling out, "Dad, little sister, Brother Lang is back!"

Le Wu followed him into the house and found a man lying in the living room. As soon as Le Wu entered, he turned to look at her and said with a smile, "You must be Xiao Lang's girlfriend! You're really beautiful. Xiao Lang has good taste."

Standing at the door, Yue Wu suddenly felt her feet were burning hot and dared not go any further inside, but still awkwardly explained, "We're just friends."

The boy came over with a glass of water. "You two are dating?"

Music and dance: ......
