Chapter 82 Collecting Meteorites (Part Two)

She took the water, drank a sip, looked at the boy and then at the man lying down, and said, "We're just friends, we're not dating."

The boy exchanged an awkward glance with his father, having made a fool of himself.

Yuewu drank a few more sips of water and began to observe her surroundings. The scroll panel pointed to this area, but where exactly was it?

Suddenly, Yuewu noticed a faint fluorescent light floating near the knees of the man lying down; so that's where it was.

I was so focused on looking at the face that I didn't realize it was on someone's body.

Yue Wu took the initiative to ask, "Are you very familiar with Feng Xuanlang?"

The boy said, "He is our benefactor."

The man lying down nodded quickly.

In a flash of inspiration, Yue Wu suddenly remembered the bricklayer—wasn't that the man right in front of her? A paralyzed man with two children—it all made perfect sense.

After thinking for a moment, Yuewu said to them, "Today we've come to pick up the families of the brothers who are working. You can all go together, so you can look after each other."

Yue Wu was really worried about whether this family could survive the extreme cold. Although they had built a new house, there was hardly any furniture inside, which meant that a lot of money must have been spent building the house.

These days, men who are paralyzed must have spent a lot of money, which is why the facilities are rather basic. At least in villa complexes, there's heating equipment.

The man and his two children were stunned. What did this mean? They could go too?

In their minds, Feng Xuanlang had attended university and served in the military, so following him was definitely the right thing to do.

But now they are a burden, and even people in their own village rarely take care of them, for fear of getting entangled with them.

Yue Wu said confidently, "We'll leave together in a bit. You guys pack your things quickly."

The family couldn't hide their joy.

"Also, may I see what's strapped to your knees?" Yuewu asked again.

"This one?"

This time, the little girl spoke up, and at the same time, she untied the cloth strip, revealing the stone fragments inside.

"Yes, this is it. Can I have it?" Yue Wu was actually a little embarrassed, feeling like she was being robbed.

The girl looked at her father and brother. Her father said, "I told him it was no use. Xiao Heng insisted that it felt warm to the touch and must be a gemstone. Hahaha, it hasn't worked these past few days. Since you want it, take it."

The man thought he would agree to whatever Yuewu asked, as long as the children could follow them, they would have a way out.

Yuewu realized it was the boy who had discovered it, so she looked at him, and the boy nodded.

The little girl ran over and handed the stone to Yuewu.

The boy looked at the stone, feeling reluctant, but if he could go to City A, perhaps his father could receive further treatment.

Previously, his father gave up treatment early and went home because he was afraid of spending money. Now, he often hears his father bearing the pain alone in the middle of the night.

Therefore, there are better hospitals in City A, which can at least alleviate his pain.

As Yue Wu was about to leave, Feng Xuanlang's voice came from outside, "Xiao Heng, Xiao Huan, your brother Lang is here."

Good heavens, this is Feng Xifeng! I heard her voice before I saw her, and it's completely different from her usual composed personality.

Feng Xuanlang entered the room and was a little surprised to find Yue Wu there. Xiao Heng greeted him happily first: "Brother Lang, I missed you so much!"

The little girl immediately ran to Feng Xuanlang's side, her eyes crinkling with laughter, "Brother Lang!"

Feng Xuanlang patted the little girl's head. "Hey, let me see if Xiao Huan has gotten fatter? Oh dear, I can't carry her anymore, hahaha."

"I haven't gained weight, Brother Lang is lying." The little girl pouted.

Everyone watched with a smile as Feng Xuanlang teased the child, and then Feng Xuanlang began to inquire about the child's father's health.

Le Wu was caught in a dilemma, unsure whether to leave or stay, and thus stood awkwardly to the side.

Then Feng Xuanlang suggested that they go to live in the city together, saying, "Why don't you come with us instead of staying here? We can all live together over there and take care of each other if anything happens."

At this point, the boy named Xiao Heng next to them said, "My sister just told us to pack our things so we can leave together in a bit."

Feng Xuanlang gazed intently at Yue Wu, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

Le Wu didn't meet his gaze, nor did she want to know what he meant; all she wanted to do was leave as soon as possible.

"Then hurry up and pack. You don't need to bring too much stuff; there's plenty over there."

Just as he finished speaking, someone rushed in from outside, panting, "Ah Lang, Zhang Erhui is causing trouble, and Da Hui can't control him, you'd better go and take a look."

The sound of lively music and dance immediately energizes them, and they dash out as fast as their feet can carry them, instantly locking onto their targets without needing anyone to point them out.

From afar, you can see two men arguing. "Either take us with you, or leave Mother behind, so people won't say I, Zhang Erhui, am unfilial."

"What am I supposed to do with you? Can you move bricks or carry cement?" Zhang Dahui was so angry that his face turned red and his neck bulged.

Before coming, Feng Xuanlang had made it clear that bringing relatives was fine, but those who liked to cause trouble were strictly prohibited.

Therefore, his younger brother would never allow him to go. He spends his days fooling around, doesn't do any proper work, and has a foul mouth. If he went, he would only cause trouble. Plus, his sister-in-law is the same kind of person.

"Dahui, we're all leaving now. Mother is worried about leaving your younger brother behind. Wouldn't it be better if we went together?" the gray-haired old woman pleaded.

“Mom, he’s so old, and he’s already married. I’m willing to support you. Look at him, is he reluctant to leave you? Is he reluctant to leave the money I send him every month as a filial offering?”

The old woman's eyes were filled with tears. She knew there was nothing she could do; a hand was tugging at her clothes from behind.

“I’ve been dutiful to our mother too. When you’re not home, I’m always the one taking care of her.”

"What filial piety have you shown? Did you bring food or do laundry? When our mother was sick, it was your sister-in-law who borrowed a tricycle to take her to the hospital. When she asked you for help, you said you were drunk. During those days in the hospital, did either you or your wife visit our mother even once?"

"Anyway, I don't care. If Mom leaves, I'll leave too. Nobody can stop me." Zhang Erhui simply acted like a scoundrel.

Yue Wu watched from the side, her lips pursed in disapproval. Two elderly women nearby whispered, criticizing Zhang Erhui, "He's a real scoundrel, all he does is slack off and never does anything productive."

"That's right. I heard from Da Hui's neighbor that the second son keeps going to his mother's room to get money, and that money is all earned by Da Hui."

"What a piece of trash!" Yuewu couldn't help but complain.

"yes."

"yes."

The two women answered in unison.

......

"Who are you?" The two turned around and looked at Yuewu strangely.

"I'm a fairy." Anyway, I can't say I'm Feng Xuanlang's friend anymore, otherwise who knows what kind of rumors will spread.

"You're crazy."

I think so!

Music and dance: ......
