Zhang Dahui looked helpless. He really couldn't bear to leave his mother behind, but Zhang Erhui was indeed a reckless person. He even considered not going himself, but he couldn't bear to let his wife and children suffer with him.
Seeing Feng Xuanlang rush over, Zhang Dahui felt even more ashamed.
Meanwhile, some people were still throwing a tantrum, and Yuewu wanted to punch them twice to shut them up.
Feng Xuanlang also knew Zhang Erhui's nature; he was a troublemaker wherever he went.
But Da Hui was a straightforward person. Seeing his flustered and helpless expression, he knew that Da Hui was also helpless. No one wants to have a younger brother like this.
Actually, there was no other choice today. Even if Zhang Dahui stayed, Zhang Erhui would definitely go with him. If we didn't take him, he would cling to the car or lie down in front of it to block us. He was definitely capable of doing that.
Feng Xuanlang didn't waste any words and said to Zhang Erhui, "You can follow me, but if you don't act according to the plan, I have plenty of ways to send you back."
Zhang Erhui, who was lying on the ground, immediately stood up. "Okay, okay, I'll be obedient."
Feng Xuanlang: I don't believe him!
Then, watching Zhang Erhui drag his wife home to pack their things, they went a few steps before turning back to pull his mother along, afraid that she wouldn't wait for him.
Zhang Dahui approached Feng Xuanlang, bowed his head, and said, "I'm sorry to have troubled you."
Feng Xuanlang patted Da Hui on the shoulder, those who know, know; no further explanation is needed.
We set off around 8 a.m. and arrived in the village around 3 p.m.
By the time everyone had gathered and were ready to go back, it was already 6 p.m. We had to rush back that night.
Before setting off, Feng Xuanlang tried to persuade the old village chief one last time, wanting him to come along.
A few years ago, the village chief's son joined the army and died a heroic death in a border conflict. His wife was depressed because of this and passed away a couple of years later. Now he is all alone.
When Feng Xuanlang was young, the village chief took good care of him, and now Feng Xuanlang wants to take care of him in return.
He shook his head: "I can't leave. There are still so many people here. I've protected this village for most of my life, and I have to keep doing it. There's also my wife and children. I'm afraid if I leave, they won't be able to find their way home."
"Child, you should go now. This old body of mine was born on this land, and I will die here too. I'm content, like fallen leaves returning to their roots. Take care of yourself and live a good life."
The village chief waved his hand, his cigarette dwindled to just the mouthpiece, and exhaled the last puff of smoke, blurring his complex and weathered face.
He understood the implication in Feng Xuanlang's words: the weather had become unusual, and he knew it would probably be a difficult time.
Soon he organized everyone to cut down trees and store firewood to withstand the possible coming cold. He would talk to those who could be persuaded, and let those who couldn't be persuaded go their own way. Good words are useless against those who deserve to die.
As Feng Xuanlang and the others walked down the mountain, Zhang Erhui started groaning incessantly, complaining of pain in his hands and legs. He carried less and less luggage, leaving it all on Zhang Dahui.
The brothers who came to pick him up couldn't stand it anymore and took a few things from Da Hui to help him carry them. Zhang Erhui on the other side curled his lips, with an expression that said, "Why didn't you do this sooner?"
Feng Xuanlang couldn't stand it anymore, so he stepped forward and kicked Zhang Erhui in the butt, making him stumble.
He was about to turn around and yell at someone, but when he saw it was Feng Xuanlang, he immediately shut his mouth. He had been beaten by Feng Xuanlang a lot when he was a child, so he was still afraid of him now.
"Take what your mother is holding, or I won't hesitate to send you back right now," Feng Xuanlang threatened Zhang Erhui with a stern face.
Rubbing his bottom, Zhang Erhui reluctantly took the luggage from his mother's hands.
Even though it was all his own luggage, he didn't want to carry it; it was too tiring. He wished he hadn't brought so much stuff.
Looking at everything that had just happened, Yue Wu thought to herself, "Why didn't Feng Xuanlang kick him a few more times? Zhang Erhui just deserves a beating."
We finally arrived at the landslide area, not far from the vehicle. Everyone helped each other and walked across together.
In the middle of the journey, Zhang Erhui wanted someone to help him carry his luggage, but no one offered to help. Even his mother was helped away quickly by Lewu.
With no other options, Zhang Erhui had to exert all his strength to keep up step by step. If it weren't for the fact that his wife was also unable to carry the load, she would have had to pass the two bundles over.
The more I thought about it, the more regretful I became. Why did I take so much stuff?
Upon arriving at the car, Feng Xuanlang arranged for everyone to get in. Xiao Heng and Xiao Huan followed their father into Feng Xuanlang's car so that they could better take care of the patient.
Because Yuewu wasn't familiar with the villagers, she let the people in the villa area ride in her car so she wouldn't have to drive.
Another person from the villa area will drive a large truck, and someone will take turns with him to rest after a while.
Everyone was quickly getting on the bus and organizing their belongings; everything was going smoothly.
Zhang Erhui and his wife arrived last. Seeing the crowded trucks, he didn't want to get on, so he immediately ran to the car in front and found that Xiao Heng and his family were in Feng Xuanlang's car. Zhang Erhui's heart immediately warmed up.
So he ran to the dance truck to get on, but there were already 5 people sitting on it, and there was no room at all.
He started acting crazy again: "I get carsick and can't ride in a big truck. Give me a seat."
No one on the bus moved; they didn't even want to look at each other.
Seeing that no one paid any attention to him, Zhang Erhui crawled to the front of the car, lay down on the ground, and said fiercely, "No one is leaving! You're all bullying me. I told you I get carsick, and you still don't understand. How can you be so heartless?"
The people on the truck began to look at Zhang Erhui with disdain, and various complaints poured out: "He's a rotten apple, he stinks wherever he goes."
