Chapter 640 Resurrection of Lover

I am getting closer and closer to the truth of the conspiracy.

The flame master carefully studied each newly discovered clue, his gaze focused and fervent, as if he wanted to see through them to see everything hidden behind them. "I feel like we're almost touching the edge of the truth," he whispered, a hint of uncontrollable excitement in his voice.

The wind-powered user felt subtle ripples in the wind, as if the truth were whispering to them. "The air seems to be filled with the scent of the truth about to be revealed." He closed his eyes and took it all in.

The water user let the water flow through her fingertips. She gazed at the clear stream, as if she could see the threads of the conspiracy gradually becoming clearer. "Every clue is leading us to the final answer," she whispered softly.

The power user punched with unwavering determination, feeling the surge of power and the urgency of getting closer to the truth. "We must uncover this conspiracy and expose it to the world," he said through gritted teeth.

The lightning user's body flickered with increasing frequency, his eyes revealing a resolute look. "The truth lies just ahead. We must not stop." His voice was filled with determination.

They searched for clues in various situations, and every subtle discovery brought them one step closer to the truth. Sometimes it was a cryptic text found in ancient ruins, sometimes a strange look noticed during a battle with the enemy, and sometimes a key word heard inadvertently.

These little clues gradually pieced together a complete puzzle, and the outlines of the conspiracy began to unfold before their eyes. They could sense that the truth hidden in the darkness was about to be fully revealed, and their hearts were filled with both excitement at the prospect of knowing the truth and tension and worry about facing the unknown. But no matter what, they moved forward resolutely towards the truth, without flinching.

In the dark and damp laboratory, the lights were dim and flickering. The evil scientist John, with a gloomy face and bloodshot eyes, was frantically conducting his forbidden experiment.

His lover, Ellie, who was everything to him, was killed by a sudden disaster. John could not accept this fact and vowed to bring Ellie back to life at all costs.

He studied ancient and mysterious documents day and night, looking for a way to break through the boundary between life and death. Finally, he found an evil ritual that was said to be able to call back the souls of the dead and let them return to the world.

John couldn't wait to start preparing, collecting all kinds of strange materials and mixing strange potions. The laboratory was filled with pungent smells and strange energy fluctuations.

When everything was ready, John placed Ellie's body on the experimental table with trembling hands and started the evil ritual. A strong light flashed, followed by an eerie silence.

Slowly, Ellie's body began to stir, her fingers twitching slightly. John's eyes widened with excitement, anticipating his beloved's awakening. However, when Ellie truly "resurrected," her eyes were empty and lifeless, and a low growl escaped her lips. Her movements were stiff and twisted, completely devoid of her former grace and gentleness. She began to wander aimlessly around the lab, unresponsive to John's calls.

John watched in horror, realizing he had made a terrible mistake. His beloved was no longer the Ellie he knew, but a mindless, walking corpse. He collapsed to the floor in agony, filled with regret and despair, while Ellie continued to wander the lab, seemingly trapped in this agonizing, semi-death state forever.

John stood there blankly, looking at Ellie who had turned into a walking corpse, his body shaking uncontrollably.

His eyes, once brimming with anticipation, were now filled with endless pain and despair. It was as if they had lost all their brilliance, leaving only a deep darkness. His lips trembled slightly, as if he wanted to say something, but no sound came out, only a faint breath escaping his mouth.

He slowly stretched out his hand, wanting to touch Ellie, but when his hand was about to touch her, he suddenly retracted it as if he had been electrocuted, as if he was afraid to face this cruel reality. Tears flowed uncontrollably from his eyes, streaking across his haggard and pale cheeks, and fell drop by drop to the ground, splashing a bunch of sad tears.

John's legs gave way, and he collapsed to his knees. He clutched his hair tightly in his hands, pulling hard, as if trying to use the physical pain to alleviate the pain within. A low, hoarse sob emanated from his throat, a sound filled with endless regret and sorrow. "Why... why did this happen..." he muttered to himself, his voice filled with pain and self-blame. He began pounding the ground, again and again, until his hands were covered in blood, oblivious to the pain.

His thoughts began to swirl as he recalled every moment he had spent with Ellie. Those beautiful times now seemed like sharp blades, slicing at his heart. His body convulsed violently, as if trying to release all the pain within. In that moment, the entire world seemed to have deserted him, leaving him alone in this endless sorrow and despair, unable to extricate himself. The once mad and persistent evil scientist was now completely overwhelmed by grief and devastation. In the gloomy laboratory, various instruments and bottles and jars were cluttered. John sat at the laboratory table with a gloomy expression, his eyes bloodshot, obsessed with his research on the virus.
