Chapter 640 Resurrection of Lover

In front of him were some samples collected from zombies, emitting a disgusting smell. John completely ignored them and concentrated on performing the complex experimental operation.

He carefully placed the sample into the centrifuge, and the machine began to spin at high speed, making a humming sound. As a series of chemical reagents were added and reacted, John nervously observed every subtle change.

Suddenly, during a seemingly ordinary mixing process, a strange green liquid began to appear. John's heartbeat accelerated involuntarily, and he realized that something unusual might have happened.

He picked up the dropper, sucked out the green liquid, and put it under the microscope. When he saw the tiny particles twisting and wriggling through the eyepiece, a chill ran down his spine.

He began further attempts to separate and purify this mysterious substance, a process fraught with uncertainty and danger, and each step put his nerves on edge.

After countless failures and adjustments, John finally succeeded in purifying a small bottle of pure green liquid, which was the zombie virus. It flashed a strange light under the light, as if mocking John's actions.

John stared at the vial of virus in his hands, feeling a mixture of fear and indescribable excitement. He knew he had inadvertently opened a Pandora's box, unleashing a terrifying force capable of destroying the world. And yet, he was already trapped, unable to extricate himself. At this moment, he felt as if he stood on the edge of an abyss, oblivious to the impending disaster. John stood quietly in the laboratory, the vial of purified zombie virus resting on the lab table before him. His eyes revealed a madness and determination, and the darkness within him grew.

The image of his lover turning into a zombie reappeared in his mind over and over again, and the pain and despair followed him like a shadow. He felt that the world was so unfair to him. Since he could not have a complete lover, no one else could live a good life.

He clenched his fists tightly, his teeth chattering. "If that's the case, then let everyone come with us and become like Ellie!" He thought viciously in his heart.

He began to plan this terrible action, imagining the scene after the virus was released on a large scale. He wanted to plunge the entire city, and even the entire world, into chaos and fear.

He selected some special devices to be used to spread the virus, and he carefully injected the virus into these devices, each movement with an almost perverted concentration.

Throughout this process, he showed no hesitation or mercy. His heart was filled only with hatred and revenge, as if he had completely lost his humanity. When everything was ready, a twisted smile appeared on his face. He carried these virus-filled devices and quietly infiltrated every corner of the city, ready to implement his mad plan.

He stood on a high roof, overlooking the bustling crowd below, without a trace of emotion in his heart. He looked at those innocent people coldly, and then activated the virus delivery device without hesitation.

With a slight noise, countless invisible virus particles began to drift through the air, rapidly spreading toward the crowd. John watched it all, his heart filled with a twisted pleasure. He seemed to see everyone transform into the walking dead, sinking alongside his beloved into this mad world. And he, the master of it all, would continue his mad experiment amidst the ruins.

At first, the infected people began to show some common zombie symptoms: their movements became slow, their eyes became dull, and they let out low roars from their mouths.

However, over time, the virus began to display terrifying mutations. Some zombies began to undergo strange changes. Their skin gradually became as hard as iron, as if covered in a thick layer of armor, making them virtually invulnerable to ordinary attacks. Some zombies sprouted sharp bone spurs, like hideous weapons, capable of easily piercing objects as they moved. Their behavior also became increasingly unpredictable. Some zombies became extremely agile, able to slither through the streets at astonishing speeds, making them ghostly and difficult to guard against. Others were able to cling to walls and buildings, moving with the agility of spiders and attacking from unimaginable angles.

Some zombies' facial features began to distort, their eyes becoming enlarged and bulging, seemingly emitting eerie light. Their mouths gaped wide, revealing sharp, jagged fangs, as if ready to tear into anything. Even more terrifying, they seemed to possess a special ability, emitting strange sound waves that disrupted human thought and action.

Moreover, the virus mutated at an ever-increasing rate, with new variants appearing every so often. Some zombies even merged together, forming gigantic, grotesque monsters. These possessed immense strength and destructive power, leaving devastation wherever they went. This uncontrollable mutation plunged the world into endless panic and chaos. People had no way of predicting what the walking dead would become next, or what disasters they would bring.

Suddenly, the sky was enveloped by a strange light, a brilliant aurora, but with a strange, heart-pounding hue.

Then, a powerful magnetic storm began. Electrical equipment failed one after another, plunging the city into darkness. All lights went out instantly, leaving only endless darkness and panic. Communications systems were completely paralyzed, leaving people completely cut off from the outside world, as if isolated in a terrifying dark world.
