Chapter 674: Blade Unsheathed 4

At the same time, its genetic structure was undergoing drastic recombination and mutation under the monitoring of the instruments. The originally orderly genetic sequence became chaotic, and new gene fragments were constantly inserted and fused, forming an unprecedented genetic combination.

The people in the lab nervously recorded all this, their breathing rapid, their eyes filled with excitement and fear. Because they knew that the octopus undergoing mutation before them was beyond their control and had become an unknown and dangerous existence.

The octopus's body seemed to be inflated by an invisible force, expanding at an astonishing rate. Its already massive form now grew even larger, like a mountain, nearly filling the entire laboratory.

Its tentacles, as if under a spell, rapidly thickened and lengthened, their muscles bulging like giant pythons writhing. The suction cups on the tentacles also grew several times larger, each edge covered in sharp, serrated structures, giving it a hideous and terrifying appearance.

The octopus's eyes were no longer those of an ordinary creature; they were two balls of fire that flickered with an eerie light. Sometimes they were a faint blue, sometimes purple-red, as if imbued with endless evil and madness. Each flicker of light sent a shudder through the depths of one's soul.

The light in his eyes seemed to possess some mysterious power, capable of penetrating people's hearts and instantly plunging them into deep fear. When this light swept across the people in the laboratory, their faces instantly turned pale and their bodies trembled uncontrollably.

The octopus's thick and powerful tentacles kept waving, hitting the surrounding instruments and walls, making a dull loud noise. Each impact shook the laboratory, as if a doomsday storm was raging in this small space.

In that chilling laboratory, the atmosphere was tense as researchers held precision syringes filled with mysterious genetic fragments extracted from mutant octopuses.

They slowly approached the horrific looking zombie lying on the lab table. Its body was shrunken and twisted, emitting a foul odor, and its skin was a sickly bluish-gray color.

A scientist took a deep breath, steadying his trembling hands, and precisely inserted the needle of the syringe into the zombie's neck vein. As the gene fragment was slowly injected, the zombie's body began to react violently.

Its muscles twitched violently, its limbs kicked uncontrollably, and a low roar emanated from its throat. A strange light suddenly flashed in its previously dull eyes.

The injected gene fragments rapidly spread throughout the zombie's body, colliding and merging with its original genes. Large bulges appeared on the zombie's body, as if countless creatures were surging frantically beneath its skin.

Its bones crackled and its body began to twist and deform. Its once stiff joints gradually became flexible, and the nails on its fingers and toes grew rapidly, becoming as sharp as knives.

The zombie's chest heaved violently, its breathing rapid and heavy. Its mouth opened wide, spewing out a black, foul air with a sickening stench.

The people in the laboratory watched all this nervously, with beads of sweat on their foreheads, but they did not dare to relax or be distracted in the slightest.

As soon as the octopus's gene fragment was injected into the zombie's body, the zombie's body instantly erupted with a strong rejection reaction like a ignited barrel of explosives.

Its body trembled violently, every muscle twitching wildly, as if in extreme pain. Its skin first turned red, then blue, and its blood vessels protruded like earthworms beneath the skin, seemingly ready to burst at any moment.

An inhuman howl erupted from the zombie's throat, so sharp and piercing that it made the glassware in the laboratory buzz. Its limbs flared wildly, breaking free from the chains that bound it and smashing into the surrounding instruments and equipment, sparks flying and debris flying everywhere.

However, this group of crazy researchers did not back down. They took swift action, some urgently preparing new drugs, others constantly adjusting the parameters of the experimental equipment, trying to change the experimental conditions to alleviate the zombie rejection reaction.

After rounds of trials and adjustments, the drug dosage was precisely controlled, and factors such as the temperature and humidity of the experimental environment were optimized to the optimal state.

Slowly, the zombie's struggles began to weaken, and its body gradually calmed down. Its distorted face gradually returned to normal. Although still hideous and terrifying, it was no longer as out of control as before.

Its breathing gradually steadied, and the trembling of its body lessened considerably. Over time, the zombie seemed to adapt to the new genes, no longer experiencing strong rejection.

But its body had undergone a terrifying transformation. Its muscles had become stronger, and its bones were crackling, as if they were regrowing and strengthening. Its eyes gleamed with a strange and ferocious light that sent shivers down its spine.

The film details their efforts to find a way to combat the mutated zombies while simultaneously investigating the source of this disaster, hoping to fundamentally resolve the problem and save a world on the brink of collapse. The fused zombies have become even larger and more distorted, like monsters straight out of a nightmare. Their once shrunken and rotting skin has now grown a thick layer of stratum corneum, a strange, dark black, as hard as iron. Ordinary weapons strike them with little more than a few sparks.

Its head was severely deformed, and in its previously empty eye sockets grew several eyeballs gleaming blood-red, allowing it to observe its surroundings in all directions. Its mouth was wide open, filled with razor-sharp fangs. Green slime dripped from it from time to time, making a corrosive sound when it touched the ground.
