Chapter 683: Terror Mercenary Group

After a moment, he slowly opened his eyes, a look of composure and calmness in them. He tilted his head slightly, his gaze as sharp as a hawk's, and began to observe the mercenaries' position.

His eyes quickly scanned the surroundings, not missing any slight movement. Every swaying leaf, every passing figure, would arouse his high alert.

His breathing became slow and even, trying not to make any noise to avoid revealing his position. Beads of sweat slid down his cheeks, but he didn't dare raise his hand to wipe them away, only staring intently ahead.

Xiao Yi's brain was working rapidly, analyzing the possible routes and attack directions of the mercenaries. His eyes revealed determination and courage, ready to deal with any possible danger at any time.

He was like a cheetah that had been dormant for a long time, suddenly rushing out from behind the tree like lightning.

Xiao Yi's figure was so fast that it was almost invisible. His movements were smooth and swift, with a determination to burn his boats.

He gripped the gun tightly with both hands, his arm muscles tense, his eyes filled with a fierce determination to kill. As he charged, he didn't hesitate at all, quickly aiming at his target.

Several crisp gunshots pierced the air, and bullets shot towards the mercenaries at lightning speed. Before one of the mercenaries could react, the bullet accurately pierced his forehead. His eyes instantly lost their luster, and his body fell straight backwards.

Just as another mercenary raised his gun to shoot, Xiao Yi's bullet hit his heart first. He covered his chest in pain, blood spurted out of his mouth, and then he collapsed to the ground.

Another mercenary was stunned by the sudden attack. Just as he was about to turn around and run away, another bullet from Xiao Yi mercilessly penetrated his back. He staggered and fell to the ground, never to get up again.

All this happened in a flash. Xiao Yi's swift attack made the other mercenaries panic and their formation was disrupted in an instant.

After this thrilling, life-and-death battle, the battlefield was filled with thick smoke and the smell of blood.

The mercenaries, once so aggressive, were now in a state of disarray. Corpses lay scattered everywhere, and the wails of the wounded echoed in the air. Their ranks had been largely wounded and killed, their once neat formation now in tatters.

The surviving mercenaries' eyes had long since lost their initial greed and ferocity, replaced by deep fear and despair. Their bodies trembled, and the weapons in their hands seemed to have become incredibly heavy.

The mercenaries began to retreat, their steps chaotic and hurried. Some fired randomly as they retreated, trying to give themselves courage; others completely ignored their companions and only cared about their own lives.

They pushed and shoved each other, their former tacit understanding and unity gone. Their original arrogant offensive posture had disappeared, leaving only the fear of death and the desire to survive.

The situation on the battlefield was reversed in an instant. Xiao Yi's tenacious resistance and brave counterattack made the mercenaries realize that this battle was no longer the easy plunder they had imagined, but a cruel nightmare.
