Chapter 684 I'm Not a Saintly Bitch

In the end, under Xiao Yi's tenacious resistance, the situation on the battlefield took a dramatic turn.

Xiao Yi's body was covered with scars, and his clothes were stained red with blood, but his eyes were still as hot and determined as a burning fire. He gripped the weapon in his hand tightly, and every swing was filled with endless anger and determination.

The mercenaries' initial arrogance was gradually suppressed by Xiao Yi's tenacity. They found that no matter how they attacked, they could not make this man of steel surrender. Xiao Yi's counterattack was swift and fierce, and each move was full of power, leaving the mercenaries overwhelmed.

As time went on, the mercenaries began to grow timid. Their attacks became disorganized, their eyes filled with fear and anxiety. However, Xiao Yi fought more and more bravely, his roar echoing throughout the battlefield, as if declaring to the enemy his determination to never give up.

Finally, the mercenaries could no longer bear the pressure and began to flee in all directions. Some abandoned their armor and weapons, looking utterly miserable; others even ignored their injured companions and only cared about their own survival.

Xiao Yi looked at their fleeing backs, breathing heavily, but a smile of victory appeared on his face. At this moment, he used his tenacity and courage to defend his dignity and repel the powerful enemy.

After the mercenaries fled, Xiao Yi seemed to have lost all his strength and collapsed to the ground exhausted. His limbs seemed to have lost control and clung to the ground, unable to support his wounded body.

His chest heaved violently as he gasped for air, each breath coming with difficulty. Air rushed in and out of his lungs, making a rumbling sound like a bellows.

Xiao Yi's face was covered in a mixture of sweat and blood, which continued to flow down along his resolute outline and drip onto the ground beneath him. His eyes were half-closed, revealing extreme fatigue and a hint of relief.

His lips were chapped and slightly open from his deep breaths. Every breath he took felt like swallowing fire, and his throat burned with pain. But he ignored all that and desperately tried to absorb every bit of precious oxygen, trying to regain a little strength in his nearly exhausted body.

Xiao Yi's body trembled slightly, a reaction to overexertion and extreme fatigue. His muscles ached, every inch of his skin protesting the brutal battle he had just endured. Yet, despite this, a faint smile played across his lips, a smile of victory, a smile of pride in his own tenacious perseverance. He raised his head with great effort, looking at the corpses and damaged armored vehicles scattered across the ground. His eyes were not at all relaxed, but rather filled with solemnity and worry.

The bodies scattered about, some still retaining the grimace and terror of their last moments, while others lay as still as if asleep. Blood pooled in streams on the ground, emitting a sickening stench. And the wrecked armored vehicles, once a symbol of the enemy's might, were now reduced to a heap of scrap metal. The twisted bodies, shattered glass, and smoldering wreckage formed a gruesome scene.

He knew in his heart that this was just one more obstacle on the long road of escape. Although the balance of victory was temporarily tilted towards him, the road ahead was still full of thorns.

He thought of the hardships he had endured, the countless brushes with death, the countless times he had searched for hope amidst despair. This victory was but a tiny glimmer of light in the darkness, insufficient to illuminate the entire future.

More challenges await him in the future. Perhaps even more brutal enemies, perhaps a harsher environment, perhaps even the fear and loneliness that creeps deep within him. But he knows he can't retreat, he can't give up.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. Looking at the unknown road in the distance, he secretly vowed in his heart that no matter how many difficulties and obstacles there were ahead, he would grit his teeth and persevere until he found his own light and peace.

On the battlefield where the smoke had not yet dissipated, Xiao Yi walked cautiously and steadily towards the mercenary's vehicle.

His body was tense, every muscle ready to explode with force at any moment. The smoke around him thickened like a veil, blurring his vision, but his gaze remained fixed on the damaged vehicles, unwavering.

Xiao Yi's footsteps were very light, making almost no sound, like a cheetah quietly approaching its prey. His ears pricked up, listening carefully to even the slightest movement around him. Any slight movement could alert him.

The battlefield was still filled with the pungent smell of gunpowder and burning smell, which irritated his nasal cavity, but he ignored the discomfort and concentrated on approaching the target.

He held the weapon tightly in his right hand, his finger on the trigger, ready to respond to any unexpected situation. His eyes kept scanning the ground around the vehicle, observing whether there were any hidden traps or enemies who were not dead yet.

Xiao Yi's heartbeat was particularly clear in the silent battlefield. He took every step carefully, fearing that he would fall into unknown danger if he was not careful.

As he approached the mangled car, a shocking sight came into view without warning.

Inside the train car, the light was dim and oppressive. A young woman huddled in a corner, her body tightly bound with thick ropes that dug deep into her delicate skin, leaving horrifying marks. The tape covering her mouth mercilessly silenced any cries for help she might have uttered, leaving only heavy, rapid breaths through her nose.

Her eyes were filled with fear and helplessness, a panic of an unknown fate. Tears welled in her large eyes, gleaming with despair in the dim light. Her gaze wandered, as if desperately searching for a figure that could bring her hope.
