Chapter 694: Flooding during Base Expansion

Xiao Yi's words were like heavy hammers, hammering at people's hearts. He panted and continued to shout: "We have experienced so many difficulties together and survived. We will definitely be able to do it this time! As long as we unite as one, there is no disaster that we cannot overcome!"

The fire of indomitable will burned in his eyes, rekindling a glimmer of hope in the hearts of those who had fallen into despair. Inspired by him, people slowly raised their heads, their eyes gradually brightened, and their low morale began to slowly recover.

Xiao Yi knew that the base alone could not withstand the disaster, so he decided to send envoys to seek assistance from the surrounding friendly bases.

Xiao Yi stood on a high place, looking at the base ravaged by the flood, his brows furrowed, his eyes revealing deep worry. His clothes were soaked and stuck to his body, and his hair was drooping wetly, but he didn't care at all.

He quickly summoned several experienced, brave and resolute members of the base and held an emergency meeting in a makeshift command post.

"This flood is beyond our expectations. If it continues like this, the base will suffer a devastating disaster." Xiao Yi said heavily, with a hint of urgency in his voice.

"So, I decided to send envoys to request support from the surrounding friendly bases. This is our last hope and we must succeed." His eyes swept over everyone present.

The chosen envoys looked serious, knowing full well the heavy responsibility they shouldered. Xiao Yi personally prepared the necessary supplies and tokens for them, carefully instructing them on every detail.

"You must get there as soon as possible, tell them the truth about our predicament, and ask for their help." Xiao Yi held the messenger's hand tightly, his eyes full of expectation and trust.

The messengers nodded solemnly, and then without hesitation set out on the dangerous journey to seek help. They rode fast horses, galloping on the muddy road, splashing water.

Along the way, the wind howled and the rain poured down. Roads were washed away by floodwaters, and bridges broke, forcing them to take detours. At times, the floodwaters almost submerged half the horses' bodies, but they continued to move forward courageously.

When they encountered a turbulent river, they would look for shallows and wade through it with difficulty. Every step forward faced unknown dangers, but they had only one belief in their hearts: to ensure the survival of the base, they must successfully seek help.

Xiao Yi was waiting anxiously in the base, silently praying in his heart that the messengers could bring back hope safely.

At this critical moment of life and death, whether Xiao Yi and his base can survive the test of this flood is still unknown.

Xiao Yi stood in the vast ocean, looking at the scene of the flood swallowing up all around him, his heart filled with worry and uneasiness. His eyes were tired and determined, as if he was fighting an invisible battle with this ruthless natural disaster.

Most of the houses in the base have collapsed, and the debris floating on the water bears witness to the fact that the warmth and tranquility of the past are no longer there. People are huddled on makeshift platforms, shivering, and everyone is shrouded in hunger, cold, and fear.

Xiao Yi's body has also reached its limit. The long period of command and rescue has exhausted him, but he is still holding on, because he knows that as long as he falls, people's hopes will be shattered.

Food and medicine are in extreme shortage, and the injured cannot receive effective treatment, causing their condition to worsen. The flood shows no sign of abating, and the continuously rising water level constantly threatens people's last refuge.

The sky was still gloomy, and the rain was still falling, as if mocking their powerlessness. Xiao Yi looked at the sky, silently praying for a miracle to happen.

However, the future is full of uncertainties. Perhaps the rescue team will arrive in the next moment, bringing hope of life; or perhaps the flood will continue to rage, completely destroying their last living space.

Every minute and every second is filled with uncertainty. Xiao Yi and his base are like a lone boat drifting in a storm, and they may be swallowed by the ruthless waves at any time. But as long as there is a glimmer of hope, they will not give up, and will persist, waiting for the judgment of fate.

Wave after wave of attacks came like a torrential rain, and the combined forces of the small base and the organization seemed determined to achieve their goal.

Outside Xiao Yi's base, smoke filled the air and flames of battle raged. Enemy shells streaked across the sky like meteors, then exploded on the base's fortifications, sending up huge plumes of smoke and flames. Each explosion was accompanied by a trembling earth-shaking tremor, leaving people trembling with fear.

The Allied soldiers surged forward like a tide, their cries of killing deafening, as if to engulf the entire world. The sounds of machine gun fire and rifle fire intertwined, forming a melody of death.

The elite troops sent by the small base rushed in the front, they were well-equipped, well-trained, and had a tacit understanding of tactics. The militants of the organization followed closely behind, their faces grim, and they attacked the base frantically, their eyes full of greed and desire.

Xiao Yi stood on the command tower, his face solemn. He looked at the surging enemy, his heart filled with worry. The base's fortifications gradually collapsed under the enemy's fierce attack, and the soldiers suffered heavy casualties, but they still held on to their posts and fought to the death.

Amid the roar of gunfire, soldiers fell from time to time, but others immediately filled the gaps. Blood dyed the ground red, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of gunpowder and blood.

Xiao Yi's base was in an unprecedented crisis. The enemy's firepower was getting more and more intense, and the defense line was broken through one after another. Soldiers shuttled through the hail of bullets and fought a desperate battle with the enemy. Fierce fighting was going on in every corner, and people lost their lives every second.
