Xiao Yi frowned, his eyes fixed on the timeline where the video was missing. "This is definitely not a coincidence. Someone deliberately erased this key evidence." His voice was low and suppressed. The team members began to check the surveillance equipment, trying to find the possibility of data recovery. They opened the chassis, checked the wiring, and checked the storage hard disk, but everything seemed to have been carefully handled, leaving no useful clues. "This is obviously a premeditated theft. The other party is very familiar with our surveillance system." Xiao Yi folded his hands on his chest and fell into deep thought. "Could it be an inside job?" A team member whispered his guess. Xiao Yi was silent for a moment, then said firmly: "No matter who it is, we must find him!" At this time, the atmosphere in the room became more and more solemn, and everyone felt unprecedented pressure and challenges.
"This was clearly a premeditated theft, and the perpetrators were very familiar with our base," said the investigating officer, his face gloomy, his brow furrowed, and his eyes revealing deep worry. He stood in front of everyone, his voice low and serious, "This is obviously a premeditated theft, and the other party is very familiar with the situation in our base." As he spoke, he gestured with his hands to emphasize his tone, "Think about it, there are no signs of forced damage to the door lock, which means that the other party either has a key or has mastered some tricks to enter without breaking the door lock. And the missing surveillance video, how could someone who is not familiar with the operation of our surveillance system delete the content of the critical time period so accurately?" He took a deep breath and continued to analyze: "To be able to know the weak links of the base so clearly, understand the layout of the warehouse and the loopholes in the surveillance, this person must have been in the base for a long time and is familiar with our daily operations. Maybe it's someone we see often around us." At this point, his eyes became sharper, as if to penetrate everyone's heart, "This is a carefully planned conspiracy. We must be fully alert to find this traitor hiding among us and restore peace to the base!"
Xiao Yi decided to begin the internal investigation by investigating the personnel within the base. Standing in the center of the base's plaza, Xiao Yi's expression stern, he faced a group of nervously-looking staff members. "From now on, we will conduct a comprehensive investigation of all personnel within the base." His voice was firm and forceful, echoing throughout the empty plaza. He quickly divided the personnel into several teams, each responsible for investigating a specific group. "Team One, collect all personnel's movements and recent work schedules; Team Two, search each person's living area, noting any suspicious items or signs; Team Three, interview each person individually, observing their expressions and reactions." Xiao Yi methodically assigned tasks, and the teams immediately sprang into action. Team One busily moved through the various work areas, carefully questioning and recording each person's whereabouts at key moments. Team Two, armed with search warrants, meticulously inspected each room, opening wardrobes and rifling through drawers, searching every corner for clues. A solemn atmosphere filled Team Three's interrogation room. The investigators wore serious expressions, their eyes fixed on the individuals being questioned, not missing a single subtle change in their expressions. "Where were you last night?" "Did you touch the key to the warehouse?" Sharp questions were hurled one after another. Xiao Yi himself was not idle either. He patrolled the various checkpoints, keeping abreast of progress and offering guidance and support. The entire base was enveloped in a tense and serious atmosphere. Everyone knew that this investigation was related to the safety and future of the base, and that the "black hand" hidden within had to be found.
He summoned all personnel who might have had access to the warehouse and questioned and investigated them one by one. Xiao Yi stood solemnly in a spacious conference room, before a row of people with varying expressions. His gaze was sharp, fixed on everyone who entered. "Please take a seat," Xiao Yi said in a deep, forceful voice. "I'll ask you some questions now, and I hope you'll answer truthfully." The first person to be questioned was Xiao Li, the warehouse manager. He rubbed his hands nervously, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. Xiao Yi looked him straight in the eye and asked, "Have you been keeping the warehouse keys properly? Have you lent them to anyone?" Xiao Li stammered, his eyes evasive. Next came Lao Zhang, the person in charge of transporting the supplies. He sat there with a calm expression. Xiao Yi asked, "Did you notice anything unusual during the transportation?" Lao Zhang recalled carefully, then shook his head. Xiao Yi meticulously examined every detail of each person who entered, sometimes pressing them with questions, sometimes quietly observing their reactions. When Mrs. Wang, the warehouse cleaner, came in, Xiao Yi gently said, "Don't be nervous, Mrs. Wang, this is just a routine inquiry. Did you notice anything unusual while cleaning the warehouse?" Mrs. Wang frowned, pondering. Then, Xiao Yi seriously asked Xiao Zhao, the security officer, "Did you see anyone suspicious approaching the warehouse during your shift?" Xiao Zhao answered firmly. And so, Xiao Yi questioned each person, one by one, not missing a single one who might have come into contact with the warehouse. His questions were precise and insightful, trying to find even the slightest flaw in their answers.
But everyone claimed innocence, bringing the investigation to a standstill. Xiao Yi sat in his office, a thick stack of interrogation records before him, his face grim. In every record, the person being questioned adamantly denied any involvement in the warehouse theft. "I really don't know, Commander Xiao Yi. I was doing my job properly and absolutely didn't touch anything in the warehouse," said Xiao Liu, who patrolled the warehouse perimeter, looking aggrieved and helpless. "I didn't even approach the warehouse door, how could I have stolen anything?" Xiao Zhang, a warehouse support worker, widened his eyes and frantically defended himself. "This has nothing to do with me, Xiao Yi, you have to believe me!" Old Wang, the usually honest warehouse porter, stamped his foot anxiously. Xiao Yi rubbed his temple, a headache pounding. He had thought that by questioning each person one by one, he would eventually find some clue or flaw, but he hadn't expected such a resolute denial. The members of the investigation team were also dejected, their once-brimming confidence now shattered. "What should we do? No one admits it. Are we heading in the wrong direction?" one member couldn't help but complain. Xiao Yi stood up and paced the room. "No, there must be something we've overlooked. One of them must be lying, but we haven't found the evidence yet." However, without clear leads or suspects, the investigation felt like a dead end, with no way out in sight. The entire base was shrouded in a gloomy and anxious atmosphere. Xiao Yi knew that if this deadlock couldn't be broken quickly, not only would the stolen supplies be lost, but the trust between the base personnel would also be severely affected.
