Chapter 724: Troublesome Maneuvering 5

Xiao Yi and some others were assigned to an area near the center, while others were assigned to areas further out. Following his guide, Xiao Yi entered the corridor near the center. The light seemed brighter here, and the walls appeared cleaner and smoother. Along the way, he could see advanced facilities and signs indicating different functional areas. The corridors they passed through were spacious and quiet, with occasional whispers from other rooms. When they arrived at their rooms, they found them simple yet comfortable. The beds were soft, the tables and chairs neatly arranged, and a small window offered a partial view of the outside. Those assigned to areas further out felt mixed emotions as they made their way to their own areas. The corridors they passed through gradually narrowed, and the lighting dimmed. The surroundings seemed somewhat dated, with the walls bearing the marks of time. When they finally reached their quarters, they found the rooms, while small, were reasonably clean and tidy. However, compared to the central area, they lacked some of the convenient amenities and comfortable decor. A young man assigned to a remote area frowned slightly at the sparsely furnished room, but quickly composed himself and began to pack his belongings. A mother entered the room with her child, who looked around curiously. The mother gently stroked the child's head, reassuring him, "It's okay, we'll get used to it." Despite the differences in living quarters, everyone understood that within this shelter, everyone was working towards a shared survival and future.

"Although we're separated, we must all take care of each other and work together to adapt to life here," Xiao Yi said to everyone. Standing in the middle of the crowd, his voice steady and powerful, his gaze sweeping across every face with determination. His hands raised slightly, as if to hold everyone together. "We come from different places and have endured countless hardships to get here. Now we're assigned to different areas. This is a temporary separation, but it's by no means the beginning of estrangement." His voice rose slightly, carrying an unquestionable resolve. "In this new environment, we may encounter various difficulties and challenges. But I believe that as long as we keep each other in mind and help each other when we encounter problems, there's nothing we can't overcome." Xiao Yi's eyes were filled with encouragement and hope. He walked over to an elderly man and gently shook his hand. "Uncle, please take care of yourself. If you need any help, please let the people around you know." The old man nodded, his eyes filled with gratitude. Xiao Yi then turned to a woman with a child. "Sister-in-law, take good care of the child. Don't overwork yourself. If there are any difficulties, we can all work together to find a solution," the woman replied, tears welling in her eyes. "We are one. Although we live in different places, our hearts must be connected. Let's work together to adapt to life here as quickly as possible and strive for a better tomorrow!" Xiao Yi finished speaking, and a chorus of agreement echoed around him. Everyone expressed their commitment to taking care of each other and facing the future together. In this shelter filled with uncertainty, Xiao Yi's words were like a warm flame, igniting hope and courage in everyone's hearts.

Exploring the New Surroundings Entering his assigned area, Xiao Yi began to carefully explore his new living space. He pushed open the door and stepped inside. The room was small, but well-planned. A single bed leaned against the wall, neatly made with crisp white sheets. Next to the bed was a small nightstand, upon which lay a desk lamp and a notebook. Xiao Yi walked to the window and gently opened it. Outside, a small courtyard appeared, where a few unnamed flowers and plants swayed gently in the breeze. He took a deep breath, savoring the fresh air. Then, he walked out of the room and into the hallway. Simple paintings adorned the walls, adding a touch of warmth to the otherwise plain space. He noticed a closed door at the end of the hallway and, curious, walked over to it. It was a shared storage room, filled with cleaning tools and other supplies. He then descended the stairs to the first floor. There was a shared lounge area furnished with sofas, coffee tables, and a water dispenser in the corner. Xiao Yi sat on the sofa for a while, feeling the soft cushions. After leaving the rest area, he found a small gym next to it with a few simple fitness equipment. Although it is not as good as the professional gym outside, it is already a good configuration in this limited space. Going forward, there is a laundry room with several washing machines neatly arranged. Xiao Yi checked the instructions and memorized them silently. Finally, he came to the exit of the area. Outside the door was a quiet path with a row of green trees planted on the roadside. He walked along the path for a while, observing the surrounding environment, and had a preliminary understanding of this new living space in his heart.

He discovered that while the area boasted comprehensive facilities, it also adhered to strict rules and regulations. Upon entering, the first thing that caught his eye was a row of brand-new, modern buildings. Towering buildings, wide roads, and neatly manicured green belts all demonstrated the comprehensive facilities. Inside, the bright lighting, smooth marble floors, and advanced electronic equipment gave him a futuristic feel. The gym was filled with high-end fitness equipment, the library boasted a rich collection of books, and the multimedia room featured state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment. However, he soon realized that things were not as free and easy as they seemed. At the entrance, strict security procedures ensured that every person entering was carefully checked and registered. Pedestrian lanes and lanes were clearly demarcated, and any violations were promptly stopped. Within the community, garbage disposal had clear timelines and separation requirements, and violations resulted in warnings and penalties. Detailed regulations also governed the use of public areas. For example, conference room reservations required advance notice and were strictly enforced. At work, starting and ending hours were strictly enforced, and lateness and early departures were subject to severe reprimands. The workflow was standardized; every step had to be carried out according to prescribed procedures, with no room for deviation. Even leisure activities weren't completely free; for example, the swimming pool had limited hours and required adherence to a series of safety regulations. He couldn't help but lament that, despite its enviable facilities, it was also tightly bound by a set of strict rules and regulations.

"We need to familiarize ourselves with everything here as soon as possible and find our place." Xiao Yi thought secretly in his heart. Standing in this strange yet rule-filled place, Xiao Yi's eyes revealed determination and contemplation.
