Chapter 44 Doomsday Crisis 3

"Will this thing work?" Squatting next to Liu Yile, Yu Fei watched him fiddling with the speaker in his hands.

"We have to try it first to see if it works." Liu Yile wiped the sweat from his forehead. He had been working on it all night and was finally done.

"You were shouting and singing last night. What were you doing?" Yu Feiguang knew that he was still fiddling with the player in his hand this morning.

"You don't understand. This is a unique secret manual I recorded myself. Okay, everything is ready, only the east wind is missing."

Liu Yile finally stood up, put the things in his hands in order, and looked at Wei Zizhou, "With this, put it on the roof, it can be transmitted. When the time comes, once the sound inside is broadcast, maybe many people can be saved."

Liu Yile said confidently.

"You said you still owe Dongfeng, what do you want to do?" Yu Fei asked him.

Liu Yile smiled and said, "To be honest, all we need is a huge loudspeaker, the kind you can use for square dancing."

"Where can you find that kind of loudspeaker now?" Yu Fei looked at him and felt that this kid had been busy all night, but it was all in vain. Where could he get that kind of loudspeaker?

The young soldier, who had been completely separated from his unit, looked outside and said, "I'm going to go out and look in the electronics store."

"Are you stupid?" Yu Fei looked at Duanduan. "There are so many zombies outside right now, and we're still in the city center. If we just go downstairs, we might get bitten to death by tens of thousands of zombies. And we have to cross the entire district to get to the electronics city. Do you think zombies are yours? You can't just say no to them?!"

Duanduan had a sad face and looked at Yu Fei helplessly, "What should I do?"

"Stop arguing," Wei Zizhou looked at the two of them. He really didn't understand why they loved to argue so much.

Wei Zizhou looked at Liu Yile and asked, "Where else can I find the kind of square dance you're talking about?"

Liu Yile immediately said, "She's at Grandma Feng's house upstairs, but I don't know if she's alive or dead at this moment."

"Let's go up there and find Grandma Feng later." Wei Zizhou decided.

"Wait, what are you going to do?" Yu Fei suddenly grabbed Wei Zizhou and looked at him, feeling uneasy.

"Knock on the door. If it doesn't open, it means the person inside has turned into a zombie." Wei Zizhou said.

"What if they're afraid you'll steal their food?" Yu Fei looked at Liu Yile, pointed at him, and said, "This kid is so smart that he's managed to store more than half a year's worth of food and water at home. I don't believe those old people who've experienced famines don't have this ability. They might just refuse to open the door for you."

"You can't just watch so many people die because of depression, right?" Wei Zizhou looked at Yu Fei like a little lion, looking irritable after losing his territory.

Yu Fei looked at him. Although both were policemen, their identities before the end of the world had become two completely different ones.

One is a law enforcer and the other is a lawbreaker.

He could see that Wei Zizhou really disregarded his own life for those unrelated people and risked his life to remind them.

Now, he understood even more clearly that Wei Zizhou's heart had not changed.

Yu Fei kindly advised Wei Zizhou, "Those people are scared to death. Since they chose to commit suicide, you should let them choose. Even if they go out like this, they might just increase the number of zombies."

Duanduan looked at Yu Fei and Wei Zizhou. When he heard what Yu Fei said, he was a little dissatisfied. However, when he thought about the current situation, he felt that this was the only way.

Wei Zizhou shook his head stubbornly, "If we can save one, then we'll save one. We have to try."

"You're too naive." Seeing that he couldn't persuade Wei Zizhou, Yu Fei could only sigh and let him try it. Anyway, he also thought it was just a futile effort.

Wei Zizhou and Yu Fei have different ideas, and he also knows that there are problems in their communication, so he simply comes up with his own ideas.

He looked at Liu Yile and asked, "Which floor is Grandma Feng on?"

Liu Yile stretched out his hand and pointed, "Sixth floor."

"Come with me. Let's see if we can get her to open the door."

Wei Zizhou said to Liu Yile.

"Ah, it's not a good idea for me to go, right?! I'd rather not go." Liu Yile looked at Wei Zizhou awkwardly, "I've known her for so many years. If she knew I brought people to rob her, she would hate me until she died."

"Who said I was going to steal her things?" Wei Zizhou looked at Liu Yile in confusion. "I negotiated with her and asked her to lend you some food in exchange."

Upstairs, Liu Yile looked at Wei Zizhou, still skeptical of his serious expression. The apocalypse was approaching, and he was still trying to persuade those who were about to commit suicide by jumping off a building. Would that work?

"Do you think the same as Yu Fei?" When he went up, Wei Zizhou noticed Liu Yile's gaze on him and started chatting.

"I just feel that those who want to live won't find a chance. For those who can't bear it and 'commit suicide', is there any point in saving them like this? After this period of time is over, they will still face the fate of being bitten by zombies when they go out, or starving to death due to lack of food."

Liu Yile had been observing this central area since the beginning of the apocalypse. He'd roughly calculated, based on the zombie population's rate of change, that the entire city was now in a frenzied growth phase. At least half the population was infected, and the rest were surely holed up in their homes, afraid to leave. The streets were now teeming with zombies, making escape nearly impossible. They could only wait for the army to assemble and return to rescue them. Otherwise, they would die here.
