Chapter 44 Doomsday Crisis 3

Liu Yile thought that if he ran out of food, he might want to jump off a building and end his life like those desperate people who committed suicide.

"No." Wei Zizhou said affirmatively.

"Why?" Liu Yile asked him doubtfully.

"What they're facing now is already the worst. Compared to the ongoing pressures of paying mortgages, medical care, and saving for their children's education, they can handle it. Facing this extreme situation, they're just temporarily overwhelmed, not because they lack courage."

Wei Zizhou looked at Liu Yile and said, "You spent the entire night recording inspirational speeches and encouraging words. Aren't you also believing that they will find hope and live on?"

Liu Yile nodded, then suddenly shook his head. "I just thought they shouldn't commit suicide like that. I didn't think too much about it."

"Don't be afraid. Humans are actually soft creatures. They may look fragile, but they are also very resilient. It's true that being alone can easily lead to fear, but as long as there are others to face it together, they will know that they are not alone. As long as they hope to survive, they will create opportunities for themselves."

Wei Zizhou was so convinced that he analyzed to Liu Yile one by one with a firm gaze why this city was still able to survive and the problems they had to face.

Listening to his description and analysis of the dilemma, Liu Yile realized that he had always been influenced by movies and television, and viewed the end of the world in an extremely negative way. He believed that once zombies appeared, mankind would be on the brink of collapse.

Unexpectedly, I blinded my own eyes and failed to see the world clearly.

"According to what you said, it is possible for us to escape from the city?"

Suddenly, Liu Yile's heart lit up.

"Yes." Wei Zizhou nodded. "As long as we find the right direction, we can get out alive."

"This..." Liu Yile wanted to ask how to get out, but they had already arrived at Nanny Feng's door.

"Is this the door, Grandma Feng?"

Liu Yile knocked on the door as usual, but still no one opened it.

"Grandma? Grandma Feng?"

After a few calls, there was still no sound.

"Could it be that it has turned into a zombie?" Liu Yile said somewhat unconfidently.

"No, she must be inside, and she is listening to our conversation at the door." Wei Zizhou said affirmatively.

"Ah? Impossible?" Liu Yile looked at the peephole on the security door, as if he could really see an eye looking at them from inside.

"Please open the door, we would like to borrow your loudspeaker. Don't worry, we are not here to steal your things." Wei Zizhou said seriously towards the door in front of him.

His voice was neither loud nor soft, as if the person opposite was right at the door.

After a long while, there was still no movement.

Liu Yile persuaded Wei Zizhou, "Well, Grandma Feng is not at home, should we think of another way?"

"If you don't open the door, I will break it down and you won't be able to close it." Wei Zizhou stood motionless outside the door and continued.

There was still no movement from inside the door.

"Let's go back and think of a solution first, shall we?" Liu Yile persuaded again.

"We absolutely don't want your extra stuff." Wei Zizhou spoke again.

After a minute, the door of Feng's house finally opened slowly.

A door lock, followed by another door lock.

A crack in the door was revealed, and an old lady's voice came from inside, "What do you want?"

After looking through the zombies' heads, Xu Xuening finally discovered the crystal inside. Almost all zombies had a small grayish-white stone in their heads. The stones varied in size, but were all roughly the same gray.

She washed a stone, opened the space, and put the crystal into it. Soon, her space was displayed, and she could choose to hide the space display.

"Hide." Xu Xuening said.

Soon, that space disappeared from before his eyes.

She was startled and reached out her hand to feel over, until she felt out a space of about two meters, then she breathed a sigh of relief.

This storage space has more than doubled in size since it was stimulated by Dr. Jones's last experiment, and air can now enter it.

She watched Xiao Hai happily playing with the toys in his hands. When he heard her voice, he immediately became excited, put down the toys in his hands, and ran towards Xu Xuening.

"Mom! Hug me!"

Xiao Hai said coquettishly.

Xu Xuening hugged Xiao Hai, not wanting to waste time. After coaxing the child, she closed the space again.

She looked at the buildings in the city. The straight street in front of her was the largest traffic artery leading to the city center, and it was also the most congested one.

Looking at this wide road, which has now become a cemetery for zombies and cars, she looked ahead worriedly.

How to get in?
