What else could happen in Chapter 123?

However, Jiang Li wasn't very happy. He still felt that something was going to happen, and this feeling was getting stronger and stronger. So he spoke up.

"I always feel like something else is going to happen."

"Girl, don't scare yourself. The hailstorm just ended, what else could happen?"

Fang Qingxun comforted Jiang Li after hearing what he said.

"The weather is already abnormal, so what Jiang Li is thinking isn't impossible."

Shi Lin felt that Jiang Li's concerns were not without merit.

"In this apocalyptic world, danger can strike at any moment, so we can't make predictions based on conventional methods."

Gu Jin also agreed with Jiang Li and Shi Lin's ideas.

"So what do you think will happen next if there are more disasters? Or is it possible that past natural disasters will repeat themselves?"

Shi Yuan also joined the discussion, raising his own questions to discuss with everyone.

"It seems that so far, no natural disasters have repeated themselves, but I think there is a high possibility of new disasters."

Jiang Li thought about it seriously for a moment and said that although he could not completely rule out the possibility of repeating the previous natural disasters, he felt that the possibility was not high.

"Then what else do you think could happen here? It's not like a sandstorm is coming, is it? There's no sand here."

Fu Xiaxia spread her hands, shrugged, and said.

"Sandstorm, sand, sand... There's water here, the seaside..."

Gu Jin pondered Fu Xiaxia's words, and Jiang Li, after hearing what Fu Xiaxia said, felt as if he had grasped something.

Suddenly, all six people spoke in unison.

"Tsunami!!!"

Clearly, what Fu Xiaxia just said made people think of the possibility that this is a seaside location, and any water-related disaster would most likely be a tsunami.

The group exchanged bewildered glances, realizing that if it really was a tsunami, the consequences would be truly terrifying.

"Do you think we might be overthinking it?"

Fu Xiaxia said cautiously, although she felt that it was very likely to happen, she still held onto a sliver of hope.

"But we can't rule out that possibility. Jiang Li, do you have anything in your space that allows you to dive, or maybe a boat?"

Gu Jin thought that since a tsunami might occur, she should prepare in advance just in case.

When Jiang Li thought of the tsunami, he suddenly became certain that it was a tsunami. He didn't know why he was so sure. Jiang Li looked into his space and then said.

"I have some swimming rings, diving suits, inflatable boats, kayaks and the like in my space. If there really is a tsunami and we get hit, these things will be useless at first, and we will definitely be overturned. It would be great if we had a submarine."

There were several people in the submarine. When the tsunami came, they stayed inside. At least they wouldn't be separated from each other or drown.

"This place is quite a distance from the sea, so even if a tsunami were to reach here, its power might not be as great, but there would definitely be some impact."

Shi Yuan spoke up.

"Whether it happens or not, we'd better be prepared."

Shi Lin also spoke up, saying that it's always good to be prepared.

"Let's go find Captain Zhang and his team. This place is close to the sea, so there might be submarines or something like that around here."

Gu Jin thought so too; now that the hail had stopped, it was the perfect time to go out.

So, after confirming the next day that it wouldn't hail anymore, the group split into two. Gu Jin took Shi Lin and Shi Yuan to find Captain Zhang, while Fu Xiaxia, Jiang Li, and Fang Qingxun went out to see if they needed anything.

When Jiang Li and his group went outside, they saw large craters everywhere, caused by hail. Houses, cars, trees, and boats were all smashed beyond recognition, a stark contrast to what they had seen when they first arrived.

Some hailstones in the pit had not yet melted, and Jiang Li took advantage of the fact that no one was around to put them into his spatial storage.

"Girl, what are you collecting these hailstones for?"

Fang Qingxun saw Jiang Li collecting hailstones and asked curiously.

"Yes, Jiang Li, what use are these hailstones anyway?"

Fu Xiaxia also didn't understand.

Seeing their expressions, Jiang Li smiled and explained.

"No, I just felt that these might be useful later, so I habitually put them into my space."

Afterwards, Jiang Li and his group encountered many people rushing to the underground city on the road, fearing that the hail might fall again. Passing by the river of the base, they saw well-preserved boats. Jiang Li originally planned to buy a few boats, but then he remembered that he already had assault boats and kayaks, so he decided to leave these boats for the people in the base.

Along the way, Jiang Li stored anything she found useful into her spatial storage. As they walked, they arrived at the official supermarket. They had assumed it would be closed, but it turned out to be open. They learned from the cashier that the supermarket had been open for the past few days, just in case someone needed food and came to buy it.

The group browsed around the supermarket, exchanging grain for some local specialties from S City, including seafood snacks. There wasn't much else of value to Jiang Li and his companions.

Not long after returning to the villa, Gu Jin and the others drove back. The good news was that Captain Zhang and his team did indeed have submarines; there were some at the base. The base had an artificial river, which they would sometimes use, but the ones at the base were all relatively small, only able to seat one or two people.

Submarines are quite expensive, and since they've been staying at the base, they don't have many items to trade for. So, Gu Jin and his group rented one for a month using gold.

Gu Jin and the others told Captain Zhang that they had never been to the seaside before and wanted to experience it. Since the submarine could only be operated within the base and couldn't go out, Captain Zhang readily rented it to them. He knew that Gu Jin and the others were capable, but he was genuinely impressed that they were thinking of having fun at a time like this. He thought they were really carefree.

Renting is relatively cheap, since it's usually just sitting there and the base is rarely used. It's not impossible for Gu Jin and the others to rent it if they want.

Gu Jin and the others learned from Captain Zhang that there used to be a yacht club not far from here, near the sea, which had several submarines inside. They just didn't know if they were still in use after all this time.

Captain Zhang started the conversation casually. Gu Jin and the others were interested, but even if there was a submarine inside, a few people couldn't move it. Captain Zhang assumed they definitely wouldn't go, so he just mentioned it without giving it much thought.

However, Gu Jin still asked Captain Zhang for the specific location.

So in the afternoon, the group went to the place Captain Zhang had mentioned and drove the submarine to a relatively remote corner of the base. Jiang Li then stored it in his spatial storage. For the next month, the submarine wouldn't need to return to its original location; it would be at Jiang Li's disposal.

Jiang Li and his group planned to return the base if no tsunami occurred within a month. However, if a tsunami did occur, they would have nowhere to return it. Given the current situation, this was the only option they could take.

After the group finished storing the submarine, they planned to immediately head to the yacht club that Captain Zhang had mentioned.
