The hospital is always bustling with people; it's never short of staff.
Ye Lei thought that during the solar radiation, many people must have turned into zombies, and there must still be many left there, making it a dangerous place.
So he decided to take the female knight-errant with him to the hospital.
A man and a zombie got into a Mercedes SUV and sped off towards the First People's Hospital of Tomato City.
Ye Lei had been there many times before, mostly delivering various packages to hospitalized patients.
As expected, when they arrived at the hospital entrance, there were many zombies coming and going outside the outpatient building.
Their eyes were glazed over, they waved their fists, and some rummaged through trash cans for scraps of food, stuffing them haphazardly into their mouths.
There was no food left, and the remaining survivors had all run away. The zombies were no longer fighting over the food; instead, the place was quiet.

Many of the zombies were still wearing hospital gowns, which means that before the apocalypse, they came here because of various illnesses. Little did they expect that this would be the end result.
This made Ye Lei hesitate. Although it was almost impossible for them to turn back into humans, at least they were still alive and were the most vulnerable group in society. No matter what, they could not die at his hands.
However, his purpose in coming here was to find a doctor, and also for his own survival.
Since that's the case, then we can't be soft-hearted. With that in mind, Ye Lei made up his mind.
Ye Lei pushed open the car door and got out. All the zombies stopped moving and sniffed the air, as if checking if food had been delivered.
Soon, they all turned to look at Ye Lei. In just three seconds, the strong zombies pounced on him without any fear. The female warrior was standing next to them, probably because she had been starving for too long.
Ye Lei calmly raised his Swiss Army knife, and the female knight also took out a sharp dagger, ready to meet the onslaught of zombies. They knew that there was no other way but to kill them ruthlessly.
Ye Lei, of course, understood the importance of striking first. He activated his superpower, Ice Roar, and the ten zombies at the forefront were immediately turned into ice sculptures, which stopped the zombies behind him.
The sudden mutation may have seemed unbelievable to them, but just a second later, they charged again, shattering the ten ice sculptures and scattering them all over the ground.
Ye Lei raised his Swiss Army knife and slashed at the zombie in front, splitting it in two.
The female warrior's agile figure was on full display, and more and more zombies fell in front of them.
The power of two cold weapons is limited, and their efficiency is not very high either.
Ye Lei was panting heavily when he finally managed to clear out the zombies that had attacked him.
The scene was horrific; piles of zombie fragments lay everywhere, and disgusting yellow fluid covered the ground, devoid of any blood, making one shudder at the sight.

He needs a doctor like this to help him fulfill his mission of procreation for humanity.
The entire fourth floor is dedicated to obstetrics and gynecology, and the hallways are littered with all sorts of medicine bottles, IV drip bottles, clothes, bedding, and even clothes prepared for babies.
The ward doors were all open, and almost all the zombies inside were pregnant women whose relatives had either turned into zombies or abandoned them.
Some women were walking around with their hands on their hips, heavily pregnant; others were lying in bed holding their phones, scrolling through them blankly; and most were sitting on the floor, looking like they were in pain, probably about to give birth!
Ye Lei walked along the road but did not find a single survivor.
These pregnant zombies were completely harmless, and he couldn't bear to knock them unconscious with his baton; otherwise, it could result in the deaths of both mother and child.
They walked all the way to the end of the corridor but found no survivors, let alone a doctor.
Ye Lei pushed open the door to the operating room in the obstetrics and gynecology ward and went inside.
Ye Lei suddenly discovered a pregnant woman lying on the operating table. She had turned into a zombie, but the wound on her neck indicated that she had been bitten and mutated. Her belly was very big, and the child had not yet been born.
The pregnant woman struggled to sit up, staring blankly at Ye Lei without any aggression. Ye Lei stopped and observed the situation.
Suddenly, the pregnant woman held a scalpel. Ye Lei was startled and quickly raised his Swiss Army knife in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
However, the pregnant woman did not attack Ye Lei. Instead, she slashed her own stomach, and her thin belly quickly tore open.
She threw away the scalpel, felt around inside her belly for a while, and then took the baby out, holding it up in her hands.
The baby was still moving; he was still alive.
Ye Lei instantly understood the pregnant woman's intention; she still retained a sliver of rationality and wanted to give the child to him.
However, this is the end of the world, and Ye Lei doesn't want to raise someone else's child.
He shook his head and muttered to himself, "I'm sorry, I can't help you. All I can do is send you on your way."
Ye Lei slowly raised his Swiss Army knife. He could no longer bear the cruel scene and decided to end it all as soon as possible.
Upon seeing the military knife, the pregnant woman looked up to the sky and roared.
Ye Lei could sense that it wasn't a roar, but rather a plea.
He stopped in his tracks. He knew it was a life that had just arrived in this world, but was born at the wrong time.
What should he do?
Looking at the baby covered in yellow liquid, Ye Lei was filled with questions. Was this baby human or a zombie?
If he were human, he certainly couldn't raise him, but if he were a zombie, wouldn't he be considered a second-generation zombie? Would he be even stronger?
Ye Lei put down his military knife and slowly approached. He knew that the pregnant woman had no offensive capabilities, and the newborn baby was even less likely to be.
Upon getting closer, he was astonished to discover that the baby's forehead was tinged with a faint green, which was clearly a crystal core!
On ordinary zombies, the crystal core on their foreheads can only be seen by cutting it open, but this crystal core has already revealed its green color, which can only mean that its level is higher.
Ye Lei wanted to see if the baby was a boy or a girl, but he was disappointed. The baby was neither a boy nor a girl, and only had a urinary tract. This mutation shocked Ye Lei.
He couldn't imagine what the world would become, nor did he know what the baby's appearance meant.
