Ye Lei asked the pregnant woman.
"Do you want me to raise it? If you understand, nod if yes."
The pregnant woman surprisingly nodded. It seems she still retained a sliver of rationality, perhaps in order to find a home for her child?
"In that case, I'll give it a try!"
Having no experience taking care of a child for the first time, Ye Lei took out a blanket from his spatial storage and threw it to the pregnant woman.
The pregnant woman took a blanket and wiped the yellow liquid off the baby's body clean. The baby immediately looked much prettier and even smiled at its mother.
When the pregnant woman saw the baby smile, she actually let out a loving, maternal laugh, which made Ye Lei wonder if they were human.
Ye Lei glanced at the clean baby in the pregnant woman's arms.
Only then did they realize that the baby's entire body was a zombie-like white, devoid of any color.
Its pupils were a deep blue, and it had two sharp teeth.
All signs indicate that this is a zombie, definitely not a human.
Ye Lei tried to control the zombie, and twenty seconds later...
[Congratulations, host, you have successfully bound yourself to a zombie.]
After the system notification, the baby actually turned its head and looked at Ye Lei, waiting for him to give it an order.
[Please name the zombie for easier control.]
Since he's a child, let's call him Red Boy!
[Zombie successfully named: Red Boy.]
Red Boy seemed to understand and gave Ye Lei a smile.
This smile sent chills down Ye Lei's spine, making him feel a cold shiver down his spine.
Ye Lei didn't know if he had the ability to raise Hong Hai'er to adulthood.
Judging from Red Boy's crystal core, if he is successfully nurtured, he will definitely be more powerful than Ripper, Female Knight, and Engineer in the future.
However, if he gives up halfway and Red Boy unfortunately dies, there is nothing that can be done, after all, he has already done his best.
Just as Ye Lei was deep in thought, the pregnant woman placed Red Boy on the bed.

He then took out a carton of classic milk, inserted a straw, and drank it in large gulps.
The pregnant woman looked at the baby in Ye Lei's arms and showed her last smile.
It was a smile of accomplishment, full of satisfaction and contentment.
She picked up the scalpel again, aimed it at her heart, and plunged it in. Then she collapsed onto the bed, motionless.
The pregnant woman died; she committed suicide.
"ah!"
Suddenly, a gasp from behind the operating room cabinet interrupted Ye Lei's thoughts.
"Someone's there!"
Ye Lei's first reaction was that this was a human, not a zombie; otherwise, it would have been impossible for it to have remained completely silent for so long.
"Who's there? Show yourself!"
Ye Lei shouted sternly at the cabinet.
"Come out right now, or I won't be polite!"
There was still no movement.
"I'll count to three, 1..."
Ye Lei picked up his Swiss Army knife and walked towards the cabinet.
"2..."
Clear footsteps can make someone hiding behind a closet feel threatened.
"Don't come any closer, I'm coming out now."
It turned out to be a girl, which excited Ye Lei.
She slowly stepped out from behind the cabinet, wearing a white coat. Judging from her attire, she was a doctor, not a nurse.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?"
Ye Lei suddenly realized that the other person should be the one asking this question.
"I'm the doctor here, and I'm here to deliver the baby for that pregnant woman!"
"You mean you're a doctor who delivers babies?"
"Yes."
Upon hearing this, Ye Lei realized that this was the person he had been searching for. However, he needed to clarify things first.
"May I have your name?"
"My name is Xiuyan."
Xiuyan! That's a pretty name.
"What about the people who were with you?"
Ye Lei was referring to the person who performed the surgery with her.
"When the apocalypse came, they all ran away, and now nobody knows where they are?"
Why don't you run?
"There are zombies everywhere outside, where can I run? I'll just hide and wait for someone to come and save me."
"You're not stupid, though. Those who ran out basically all turned into zombies!"

Ye Lei pointed to the pregnant woman lying on the operating table.

"My name is Ye Lei, and I came here specifically to find you."
