Chapter 67 Parting Ways

The next morning, Li Feng woke up groggily in the library, looking completely bewildered.

They played cards last night, and then...

Then Sister Xin and Brother Li started fighting!

They went to break up the fight, and then...

That's it?

Li Feng rubbed his head, which felt like it was filled with paste, got up, walked around the screen, and went outside.

Seeing Li Yiyuan sitting by the window in a daze, he quickly walked over and asked eagerly:

"Brother Li, what happened last night? Did I just drift off to sleep and have a dream?"

He couldn't help but wonder if he was still dreaming, since he was currently in a state of blackout from a hangover and didn't even know how he got upstairs to sleep.

As he got closer, Li Feng noticed Li Yiyuan's appearance, which startled him.

Li Yiyuan looked very disheveled, with stubble on his chin, bloodshot eyes, and dark circles under his eyes that looked like he was wearing smoky makeup. It was obvious that he had stayed up all night without closing his eyes.

"Brother Li... what are you doing...?"

Li Feng's heart was in his throat. What had he missed?

Xiaomi and Xiaomai also got up at this time. After confirming each other's situation, they knew that this was not a simple matter, and rushed out in a panic.

After Xiaomi came out, she couldn't find Li Xin'er inside the house and blurted out,

"Where is Sister Xin?"

Xiaomai, being a woman of action, ran straight to the screen behind which Li Xin'er had made the bed, only to find the bed empty.

What happened last night?

Li Yiyuan stated in a hoarse voice:

"She's gone."

Li Feng's eyes were filled with disbelief.

"Gone? Where did Sister Xin go?"

Why did Sister Xin suddenly leave? Did the two of them have such a big argument...?

Xiaomi and Xiaomai hurried to the table, eager to hear an answer.

Li Feng ran to the window to verify his memory of last night.

The headless corpses on the street were gone, but the various colored liquids that had splattered and adhered to them—black, red, pink, white—along with the pungent, stench of blood unique to zombies, all testified to what had happened last night.

So, Sister Xin and Brother Li had a fight, or rather, they fought, or Brother Li got beaten up.

None of that matters.

The important thing is that Sister Xin got angry and left!

Li Yiyuan wearily wiped his face and said in a deep voice:

“She didn’t say where she was going, but I knew she wouldn’t be coming back.”

Everything she did last night was to distance herself from him, and he knew that.

Li Yiyuan's eyes were filled with desolation, but he finally mustered his spirits, sat up straight, and glanced at the three of them.

“I will still go back to the orphanage. You can continue to accompany me, or go to find her, or make other arrangements.”

"However, I think your chances of finding her are very slim."

He's said everything he needed to say; now it's up to them to decide.

The three fell silent.

After a long discussion, the three decided to continue following Li Yiyuan to the orphanage.

They guessed that Sister Xin might go back to the orphanage, and maybe they could run into her again if they went there first.

And so, the four of them packed their things and set off again.
