Carl told Ali and the golden eagle to continue their search a little further ahead, while he went back to where he had been to check on the wounded.
As soon as he approached, Gavin quickly stood up and reported on the condition of the wounded.
"Boss, the snowy owl and the falcon are still unconscious. The snowy owl's wound is near its heart, and the falcon's is in its lung. They both need surgery as soon as possible."
Gavin paused for a moment, then continued:
"The bullet in Vulture's arm has been removed. Most of the other wounds are superficial, which can be managed for now. But there's a problem: we're really short of medicine."
Without medicine, even with his exceptional medical skills, he would be helpless.
Carl nodded solemnly.
"Yes, I'll take care of the medicine. You keep them calm for now."
Gavin didn't say anything more, nodded, and turned back to continue monitoring the injured.
Everyone has their own expertise, and all he can do now is to protect them to the best of his ability. As for the rest, he believes his boss has a solution.
Carl seemed to be an omnipotent being in the eyes of the Warwing team members, except for Li Xin'er.
It's not shameful that the eldest brother can't beat Li Xin'er...
After all, in their eyes, Li Xin'er wasn't even human...
Carl called Pigeon over. As a technician, Pigeon was always well-protected, and at this point, he only had some scratches on his face and was otherwise unharmed.
"Boss!"
As soon as the pigeon arrived, it handed the satellite phone to Carl.
Carl took it and began to make arrangements:
"We need to plan a route to the nearest hospital so we can find some medicine."
"Okay, boss."
Pigeon took a computer out of his backpack, sat down on the ground, and started working while holding the computer.
Carl glanced at the satellite phone in his hand, walked a little to the side, and looked at the ruins of the Ye family's house, his eyes darkening slightly.
He was incredibly grateful that he hadn't confronted Li Xin'er head-on before, and even more grateful that he had sought her help immediately.
Carl dialed Li Xin'er's number.
"Thanks."
Upon connecting the call, before Li Xin'er could even speak, he eagerly expressed his gratitude.
At this moment, Li Xin'er had just finished tidying up and returned to her room to lie down, and she responded without any politeness.
"Hmm, you should thank me. So, how many of you survived?"
Carl hesitated slightly, "They're all there now."
"Oh? It seems someone is seriously injured."
"Um."
Li Xin'er said dismissively, "No matter how many you have left, I want to see you before lunch tomorrow."
Whether someone dies or not doesn't matter, just don't delay her lunch.
Carl pursed his lips and lowered his eyes, not answering immediately.
This is a bit difficult. The helicopter they used to fly to Haishi belonged to the Ye family, and it was destroyed in the bombing. Not to mention that they have two seriously injured team members waiting for surgery, just finding a means of transportation is a tricky matter.
To get there so quickly, there was no other way but by helicopter or airplane; however, only wealthy and powerful families could afford such things, and at that time, the value of an airplane was immeasurable…
After waiting for a while without a response, Li Xin'er's voice turned cold.
"What? You can't do it?"
Carl's voice was hoarse and unclear, but he still gave his assurance.
"We will get there as quickly as possible."
Li Xin'er was finally satisfied, and with a hint of schadenfreude, she gave a reminder.
"Well, if you don't want to be detained by the authorities, you'd better leave early."
After saying that, he yawned, but didn't add anything further:
"Your technician knows the address, so don't bother me unless it's absolutely necessary."
Without giving Carl a chance to speak again, she hung up the phone.
Carl listened to the dial tone, his large hand gripping the phone, his thumb gently rubbing the receiver, as he repeated a word Li Xin'er had just uttered.
"official."
The low, hoarse murmur, in the darkness, sounded like a caged wild beast, carrying an extremely dangerous signal.
·
Kyoto, at a military base.
The room was filled with various monitors and operating instruments. Soldiers dressed in Chinese military uniforms were carrying documents in and out, their feet barely touching the ground as they worked.
The person sitting in front of the screen was so busy that their hands were flashing in afterimages as they worked on the control panel, sweating profusely even in the dead of winter.
An information soldier, holding the final monitoring results, stood up and ran quickly to the command table. He saluted a man in his fifties, dressed in military uniform, and then reported rapidly.
"Reporting to Commander Wei! Target location: Ye Family Hillside Manor!"
Upon hearing this, Wei Ping paused in his busy work, looked up from the documents in his hands, and gazed at them with a puzzled expression.
"Sure?"
The information soldier stood with his legs together, handed over the documents with both hands, and affirmed firmly once again.
"It's confirmed!"
Wei Ping grabbed it and eagerly began flipping through it, his brows furrowing more and more as he read.
"Mirage launch?"
He closed the file and gave a stern order to the information soldier beside him.
"Continue to maintain strict control measures and ensure the air defense security of the entire Kyoto!"
"yes!"
The information soldier straightened his back, saluted, and then spun around and jogged back to his workstation.
Wei Ping glanced at the document in his hand, sighed, and said to the vice-committee member beside him:
“This matter is probably not simple. You stay here and keep watch. I’m going to the Marines.”
The deputy committee member next to him was so busy he didn't even have time to look up, and only managed a brief response.
"good."
This enormous military base, which originally belonged only to the Air Force's surface-to-air missile division, now houses half of the surviving military forces from Kyoto.
The original buildings and dormitory areas were divided among different departments to serve as command posts. Since there weren't enough rooms, many military tents were set up around the area.
