Chapter 120 Half-human, half-corpse

The door was suddenly pulled open with a loud bang, striking everyone's hearts.

It was Jiang Qingwan who left and then returned.

Jiang Qingwan did not come in directly. Instead, she leaned against the door frame, her eyes revealing a calm and confident demeanor that suggested she had known this all along.

She saw wisps of black mist rising from the corpse and spreading to a man sitting upright.

"Who is he?" Jiang Qingwan asked Kang Xiyang, pointing to the seemingly flawless attendee.

The mastermind behind the destruction of zombie corpses sat upright, with a pen and a notebook in front of him, exuding an air of refined scholarly elegance.

“He is Liang Zhi, the head of the Institute of Biology,” Kang Xiyang replied.

Liang Zhi pushed up his glasses, his expression unchanged, even a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. His tone was gentle, and his eyes revealed affection, as if he were embracing a disobedient child.

"What's wrong, Miss Jiang Qingwan? I heard that you have a good relationship with one of our researchers. Are you trying to find out about him?"

Jiang Qingwan saw Liang Zhi's outstretched hand pushing up his glasses; his little finger was wrapped in white gauze.

Dense black smoke seeped through the gauze, resembling a charred finger.

"Stop pretending." Jiang Qingwan didn't bother to give him a nice look. She had already figured out that this was a half-human, half-corpse monster.

Liang Zhi naturally wouldn't admit it so easily, so he casually attributed Jiang Qingwan's accusation to a quarrel between friends: "Oh, Miss, did our researcher Ye Qi make you angry? I'll talk to him properly when I get back."

Jiang Qingwan and Liang Zhi each spoke their own words, pointing at his fingers wrapped in gauze, and questioned, "Do you dare to unwrap the gauze from your fingers?"

"I accidentally burned myself with sulfuric acid while doing the experiment, which is why I bandaged it up," Liang Zhi said, folding up his other fingers and leaving only his little finger out, showing it to everyone in the air.

"You've explained so much, but you're unwilling to unravel the truth, is that it?" Jiang Qingwan laughed along, her tone laced with sarcasm.

"Beautiful lady, why are you being so aggressive towards a wounded soldier?" Liang Zhi put her little finger to her lips and breathed on it lightly, pretending that it would relieve the pain.

Some people in the crowd who disliked Jiang Qingwan had already taken this opportunity to speak out.

"Yes, Miss Jiang, you've gone too far!! You can't just rely on your own strength to judge people out of thin air and then bully the injured!"

He couldn't understand why a woman possessed such great power.

All women should do laundry, cook, and serve men to live a beautiful life.

Instead of like Jiang Qingwan, who entered officialdom and became superior to everyone else.

Don't think he can't see it; Kangxi Yang has immense respect for Jiang Qingwan.

Kang Xiyang only placed Jiang Qingwan in a lower seat on the surface to protect her.

There was some commotion in the crowd; clearly, some people wanted to support the man's statement, but due to Jiang Qingwan's superior strength, they chose to remain silent.

Only this silly fool spoke up to question Jiang Qingwan.

Everyone focused all their attention on the silly boy and Jiang Qingwan, and for a moment, they forgot about Guan Liangzhi.

"Oh. You say I'm going too far. So what?" Jiang Qingwan shrugged, turned her head away from that silly guy, and continued to stare at Liang Zhi's every move.

Liang Zhi's disguise was flawless, with a gentle and kind smile on his face.

He even had the leisure to pull out a walkie-talkie, waiting for Jiang Qingwan to look over.

He said aptly, "How about I contact Ye Qi now, give him a break, and have him come over and keep you company?"

"You really are... you won't shed a tear until you see the coffin!" Jiang Qingwan squeezed out a mocking laugh.

"Isn't it because you can't see Ye Qi that you won't let go of me, the wounded soldier?" Liang Zhi asked, making up some formulas.

The simpleton stood up from his conference chair, moved behind Liang Zhi's chair to express his firm stance, and once again criticized Jiang Qingwan:

"Why are you acting so impulsively? You can't catch up with Researcher Ye, so you come here to harass his leader. Do you think you can force him to submit?"

Looking at the indignant, foolish man, Jiang Qingwan revealed a smile that was hard to decipher.

The simpleton felt a chill run down his spine, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar in the sweltering air.

He saw Jiang Qingwan's blood-red lips opening and closing, as if in the bright sunlight outside the window, proclaiming his fate.

He heard Jiang Qingwan's devilish whispers.

"You are not far from death."
