"Gentlemen, please get in the car!"
Yan Qing glanced at her watch but ignored him. It was five minutes to nine o'clock, their agreed-upon time.
"Damn it!" the garbage truck driver cursed as he drove off.
A minute later, another car pulled up in front of her. The same questions were asked, and Yan Qing remained silent and refused each time.
She counted; in just ten minutes, six garbage trucks had passed by. Without exception, every driver tried to get them on, but she silently refused.
It was almost nine o'clock when another garbage truck drove up in the distance.
Yan Qing's eyes lit up; it seemed this was the one.
The driver was an acquaintance, the one she had seen during the day. He seemed different from his appearance during the day; he smiled and waved to them from afar.
"Miss, please get in the car!"
Yan Qing looked behind the garbage truck and found that it was spotless, without a single piece of trash.
However, there was an extra person in the back of the car—or rather, a human corpse.
The person's head was a bloody mess, as if something had gnawed it off, revealing a round skull, making it impossible to recognize who it was.
As luck would have it, judging from his clothes, she recognized him from the daytime; he was one of the four new adventurers.
Yan Qing felt a moment of regret, just then the driver shouted at her again.
"Girl, are you getting on the bus or not?!"
Yan Qing glanced at her watch; there were still thirty seconds left, so she remained standing motionless.
The driver seemed to be provoked by her attitude, and he instantly went berserk. He simply jumped out of the car, grabbed the people in the back, dragged them to the ground, and began to eat them voraciously.
"Ding-dong!"
It was already nine o'clock, but the driver was still eating as if no one else was around.
Yan Qing took Xiao Tao's hand and silently walked around to the side and back of the truck, opened the lid of the garbage truck, and put Xiao Tao inside.
"Shh-"
Then, she carefully carried Yue Qi on her back and hid inside as well. Luckily, the garbage truck was quite large, and the three of them didn't feel anything at all.

She didn't dare go far, so she picked up some branches on the nearby shore, started a fire, and slowly dried the clothes of the three of them.
Xiao Tao calmed down and moved closer to Yan Qing. "Big sister, I'm a little scared."
Yan Qing patted her head and comforted her, "Little Tao, don't be afraid, big sister is here for you."
"Uh-huh."
Because the environment was unfamiliar, she dared not leave Yue Qi behind, so she could only carry him on her back and barely managed to get through the night.
As the first rays of morning sunlight touched her, Yan Qing finally saw where the three of them were—a shallow riverbed. Not far from the riverbed, there was a winding asphalt road.
The road stretched far into the distance, seemingly endless in her direction. But the distant lights reminded her that it must be a new instance.
