Chapter 151 I Will Not Give Up

After Li Jin abandoned her again, Lin Mengru was in a daze for several days.

Since her adolescence, she has always been invincible when it comes to dealing with men.

In that short year, she was dumped twice, and for the first time, she began to doubt her own charm.

Has she really lost her appeal to men?

Lin Mengru sat blankly in Li Jin's lounge, almost as if she had lost her soul.

In the northwest corner of the lounge, there was a suitcase full of personal belongings, Li Jin's last memento of her life.

There were more than 50 packs of instant noodles, some bread, sugar, salt, a small box of cold medicine, and even half a bottle of vitamin C.

Given Li Jin's stingy nature, the fact that he left behind so many supplies shows that he truly loves Lin Mengru.

Unfortunately, Lin Mengru didn't think so.

Is she really only worth a few dozen packs of instant noodles? She couldn't believe it, she really couldn't believe it!

"Beep beep beep!" The piercing alarm pulled Lin Mengru back to reality from her reverie.

"What's going on?" Lin Mengru opened the window and peered down.

The entire rescue center was in complete chaos, with everyone scrambling to escape like ants on a hot plate.

This unusual phenomenon quickly alerted Lin Mengru.

"Could something big have happened again?" Lin Mengru muttered to herself.

Lin Mengru tidied herself up quickly, put on a light green sundress, and prepared to go downstairs to find out what was going on.

Although the weather was slightly chilly, her sex appeal was her invincible weapon.

She had just reached the corner of the stairs when she bumped into a woman in her mid-twenties wearing work clothes.

"Hey, how can you be so blind? Can't you see that others are in a hurry?" the girl complained as soon as she opened her mouth.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't notice! I just heard the announcement on the radio. Do you know what's going on?" Lin Mengru asked quickly.

The girl rolled her eyes at her. "Don't you know? The zombies are coming soon! We have to evacuate now! I don't have time to talk to you right now! I have to go upstairs to get some documents!" As a staff member at the rescue center, she naturally had more information than the average person.

With that, she pushed Lin Mengru aside and ran up the stairs without stopping.

"Zombies? What are those? Are they some kind of animal?" Lin Mengru asked, her face full of confusion, but her intuition told her they were definitely not good things.

Forgive Lin Mengru for her lack of intellectual depth; all she does is study how to dress up and how to attract men! She knows absolutely nothing about anything cultural.

This includes, but is not limited to, novels, newspapers, movies, and television.

Lin Mengru went downstairs with a puzzled look on her face. Almost everyone was craning their necks to wait for the helicopter to land.

Before the cabin door even opened, several more people quickly climbed up.

The people at the scene almost came to blows in their struggle to secure a spot to go to country H.

Lin Mengru also tried her best to push forward. She was already thin and weak, and since she wasn't a staff member of the rescue center, she had no chance at all.

Fortunately, amidst the jostling of the crowd, she finally obtained the complete information and learned the whole story behind the alarm.

It turns out that a large-scale zombie outbreak has occurred in the five northern cities, and now a large number of zombies are heading towards City A.

The helicopters flew away and returned repeatedly, but the number of people waiting did not decrease; on the contrary, it continued to grow.

However, the number of helicopter trips has been decreasing.

After waiting for half a day, she finally realized in despair that she could not possibly get on the helicopter, and even if she did, she would definitely be thrown off.

Perhaps, those who remain have already been abandoned.

Since she couldn't get on the helicopter, she had to figure out how to survive there.

She went to a secluded spot and dialed Wang Fuli's number, but Wang Fuli was the kind of person who would often show up when nothing was wrong, but once something happened, he would become unreachable.

She silently hung up the phone. It seemed that she could only rely on herself. According to the information she had just received, as long as she stayed in her room without making a sound or being seen by the zombies, she would not be easily discovered by them and would be able to survive.

She had to take advantage of this time to quickly stock up on supplies in her room, ideally enough to last her three to five months.

She still remembered eating a packet of instant noodles every day at Li Churan's house, and that old hag Shangguan Rong would always skimp on her noodles, eating the noodles herself and only letting her drink the soup.

She didn't want to live like that anymore.

While everyone was outside waiting for the helicopter rescue, Lin Mengru quickly went to the food storage area in the cafeteria. Whether it was due to the warehouse manager's carelessness or intentional, the door was not locked.

"There really is no one here! This is truly a stroke of luck!" Lin Mengru had only guessed, but she never expected that there really was no one guarding the cafeteria.

Lin Mengru picked up two boxes of instant noodles and ran towards the office where she and Li Jin lived.

After carefully placing the instant noodles, she repeated the process, moving several more boxes of instant food, as well as compressed biscuits, sugar cubes, and other items.

Lin Mengru made four trips before the people in the warehouse returned.

After such a long and complicated process, the other staff at the rescue center realized that it was impossible for country H to transport them all away, and they could only hope for the best while they were there.

"Hey, why isn't the warehouse door locked?" The warehouse manager walked into the warehouse.

The warehouse was piled high with all sorts of ingredients, like a majestic mountain. Thankfully, everything was still there.

The next second he locked the door.

Lin Mengru looked at the seven or eight boxes she had moved over with a smug expression, her excitement overflowing.

With this batch of supplies, at least for the time being, she won't have to worry about food.

She also grabbed a kitchen knife for self-defense.

Lin Mengru carefully piled the boxes in a corner and covered them with Li Jin's discarded old clothes.

Then she went out again, hoping to find some other things she might have missed!

Unfortunately, by this time, almost half of the people had already returned to their positions in despair.

Seeing that she couldn't find any opportunities, Lin Mengru could only helplessly run back to her room.

After returning to her room, Lin Mengru decisively nailed all the doors and windows shut, and then propped the front door up with a sofa. She figured there shouldn't be any problems!

Now that the temperature has returned to normal, all she needs to do is ensure she has enough food and that zombies don't break into her room.
