Chapter 240 Internal Strife

Lu Sheng had no intention of revealing that he had a decoder, and watched them bustling around with a clear conscience.

Led by them, the two teams quickly entered the working area inside the pharmaceutical factory.

They encountered a few low-level zombies along the way, but Liu Wei took care of them all by himself without Lu Sheng and the others having to lift a finger.

Lu Sheng remained silent the entire way, quietly observing the group of people.

The team's performance can be described as terrible, roughly summed up by Liu Wei and his four weaknesses.

Liu Wei did all the work of dealing with the zombies. The other two men and two women couldn't help and were lucky if they didn't get in the way.

Zhao Jiahong, in particular, shouted and yelled throughout the entire process, causing a lot of unnecessary trouble.

Even someone as oblivious as Han Rui could tell that there was something wrong with the team's composition.

"If this guy didn't team up, he might have lived longer," Han Rui whispered quietly next to Lu Sheng.

Zhang Xiaojuan rolled her eyes at her, "You don't understand male heroism."

Lu Sheng smiled but didn't reply, though her gaze on Liu Wei became increasingly intrigued.

The two groups walked through the long sterile area and finally stopped at the stairwell leading to the basement.

"The elevator is broken, you have to take the stairs." Liu Wei pressed two buttons on the gray elevator control panel, and the numbers on the display screen flashed by and then went dark.

"Forget it..."

Zhao Jiahong suddenly plopped down next to the elevator door, rubbing her thigh in complaint, "We've been walking for over an hour, let's rest for a bit."

Then, pointing at Zhang Qianqian as if giving an order, he asked, "Does your superpower have any way to fix the elevator?"

"I don't know," Zhang Qianqian replied in a voice as soft as a mosquito's buzz.

"What a useless piece of trash, all you can do is open a broken door. I really don't know what use you are." Zhao Jiahong glared at Zhang Qianqian with annoyance, then leaned against the wall and refused to move.

Liu Wei looked a little embarrassed. "Sister Zhao, get up first. We're already here, we have to go down and check on things."

"What if there are zombies down there? I don't want to move anymore, you guys go instead."

Zhao Jiahong simply closed her eyes, like a dead pig that doesn't fear boiling water.

"Sister Zhao, what are you saying? How could we possibly leave you here alone?" Ji Feng squatted down and coaxed her softly.

Most middle-aged women are attracted to the "puppy-like" type, and Zhao Jiahong is no exception.

"I'm tired." Zhao Jiahong's attitude softened noticeably.

"Sister Zhao, you can try going down with plants first. If there are zombies, we'll find another way," Qin Dali suggested from the side.

With someone offering a way out, Zhao Jiahong slowly stood up.

"I'm only doing this because of you guys, otherwise I wouldn't have agreed." As she spoke, she glanced at Lu Sheng and the others.

Lu Sheng said calmly, "Whether there are zombies or not is none of our business. You all need to take care of your own lives."

Zhao Jiahong's face stiffened, and she stood up awkwardly, twisting her plump body as she leaned half her body out into the stairwell.

A vine covered in tiny pink flowers timidly peeked out and then cautiously spread down the stair railing.

Liu Wei and his group nervously peered down from the doorway.

Not long after the vines burrowed down, a series of howling and wailing sounds soon came from below.

There are clearly a lot of zombies down there; judging from the sounds, there are at least dozens or even hundreds.

Zhao Jiahong's face turned deathly pale with fright. She was frantically trying to retract the vines when she suddenly stumbled and tumbled down the stairs.

"Sister Zhao!" Qin Dali reached out to grab her, but Zhao Jiahong was a bit chubby and he couldn't hold her.

Soon, Zhao Jiahong's shrill screams and horrifying chewing sounds came from below.

A few seconds later, Zhao Jiahong's voice disappeared.

Liu Wei and his group were covered in cold sweat, while Zhang Qianqian was trembling like a leaf.

"Aren't you a speed-type? Why didn't you help earlier!" Qin Dali glared at Liu Wei resentfully, then angrily pounded his head.

"She lost her balance when she was gathering the vines, and I was caught off guard and couldn't grab her," Liu Wei said, slightly out of breath.

Lu Sheng raised an eyebrow with interest.

Although Liu Wei moved quickly, Lu Sheng still managed to catch him.

In the chaos just now, it was Liu Wei who pushed Zhao Jiahong down.

The man endured it all the way, and finally found an opportunity to get rid of Zhao Jiahong.

Not only did they kill the troublemaker, but they also tested the zombies downstairs. Sure enough, when men get ruthless, women have nothing on them.

“Sister Zhao is too impatient. This was an accident, so it’s not right to blame anyone. Let’s think about what to do next first,” said Ji Feng, the youngest member of the team.

Lu Sheng ignored the group and casually led Rocket and Zhuangzhuang downstairs.

Liu Wei and the remaining few people looked at each other, but finally gritted their teeth and followed.
