Chapter 15 I Want to Kiss You, May I?

Chapter 15 I want to kiss you, may I?

After breakfast, I went to the Procuratorate to report for duty as usual. But today, I saw Vice Minister Qi as soon as I arrived at the door. Without saying a word, I asked him to go to the laboratory with me.

The base's laboratory is located on the seventh underground floor, a very secretive place where living mutants are kept, all of whom are used as lab rats.

Upon arrival, the attendant discovered that he was not the only one summoned; prominent figures and leaders of the base were all present.

"Sui, it's been a long time."

"Hello, team."

The captains of the special operations teams one through seven greeted the passengers. The passengers recognized these people and were not as aloof as usual, responding simply with a few words.

"Alright everyone, I've called you here today because I have something to discuss with you."

Commander-in-Chief Long Ting clapped his hands, and everyone immediately quieted down, looking at the screen that had been unfolded in front of them.

The head of the laboratory said in a deep voice, "This is the mutant corpse that Special Forces Team Seven and the Sunrise Squad brought back from Furong City yesterday. There is a serial number on this corpse. According to Captain Xu of Team Seven and Captain Sui of the Sunrise Squad, all the mutants they encountered had this serial number. After a night of examination, we found a strange virus in this corpse. This virus can cause organisms to evolve into mutants. We suspect that someone is conducting illegal experiments behind the scenes."

As soon as he finished speaking, the others began to whisper among themselves, hardly believing that someone would actually conduct such an experiment, and what their purpose was.

"Then there's the matter of the crystal cores." The lab assistant brought over a plate with two crystal cores on it, one green and one red, the two that they brought back yesterday.

"Master, what is this crystal core?" Someone who didn't know about crystal cores immediately asked.

The passenger glanced at the person who asked the question. He looked familiar. He seemed to be the captain of a newly formed team from the Department of Extraordinary Affairs. He was riding high and had completed many difficult tasks.

The professor adjusted his glasses and said, "These two crystal cores were taken from the bodies of mutants. They contain enormous energy. The laboratory has been experimenting with the crystal cores for two months now. The abilities within the crystal cores will greatly enhance the abilities of superhumans."

"So powerful? Does that mean the more crystal cores you absorb, the stronger your superpowers will become?" It was the same person from before. When he said this, he even glanced at his companion, his eyes filled with probing and curiosity, but even more so with fighting spirit.

Sui Cheng ignored him, still thinking about what the professor had just said: was the energy in the crystal core really okay?

Doctor looked around and saw some people with doubt on their faces. He explained, "We have already had volunteers try it. Those who absorbed the crystal cores did not experience any abnormalities, and their strength did indeed increase significantly. So from today onwards, your teams can absorb the crystal cores they obtain during missions. But remember, you can only absorb crystal cores with the same ability as yourself, otherwise it will conflict with your internal ability."

"These two crystal cores were brought back by Captain Xu and Captain Sui, so you can take them with you."

Xu Feng is of the fire element, so he should naturally take the fire element item, while Sui Cheng took the wood element item.

After saying this, they adjourned the meeting.

Sui Cheng held the crystal core and examined it for a while when someone suddenly called out to him, "Sui Cheng."

He turned his head and saw Lou Wenhua, the captain of the Fifth Special Operations Team.

"Is there something you need?" the attendant asked.

Lou Wenhua said frankly, "I want to trade this crystal core with you. I remember there are no wood-type members on the team, but we have one, so I'd like to make a deal with you."

"Sorry, I won't change." Sui Cheng put away the crystal core in front of him and said calmly, "Who said we don't have any wood-type characters in our team? Plant-type characters are also wood-type characters."

Lou Wenhua frowned. He had heard that there was a temporary member in the accompanying team, but it was only temporary. Was it really appropriate to give away something so important?

"I'm leaving now," the passenger said casually, then took the elevator upstairs.

When he returned, the house was quiet, and Lu Zhi's door was tightly closed, as if he had never left the house.

"Bang bang." Sui Cheng knocked on the door, and after waiting for a while, no one came to open it, so he called out the name of Lu Zhi.

"Law Master, are you there?"

A sound came from inside the room, and a few seconds later, the door opened.

Lu Zhi was dressed in black casual clothes, barefoot on the floor, his hair was messy, his cheeks were flushed, as if he had just woken up, and his eyes were still a little hazy.

"What's wrong?" His voice was hoarse and barely audible.

Sui Cheng frowned, raised his hand and touched his forehead. The excessively hot temperature startled him. "You have a fever."

Lu Zhi leaned against the door and nodded in a muffled voice: "Um... Shall you come in?"

The servant hesitated for only a second before pushing him into the room, saying, "Go upstairs and lie down. I'll go find your medicine."

Lu Zhi was pushed onto the bed by him. The sleepiness in his eyes had disappeared. He watched as his attendant went out and soon returned with a water glass and a box of medicine.

As soon as the passenger put down the medicine, his waist was grabbed.

Lu Zhi's face was pressed against his back, and he could feel the intense heat even through his clothes. His arms were very strong, and the veins on the back of his hands were faintly visible.

"Lv Zhi, have you gone mad from the fever?" Sui Cheng tried to pry his hand open, but couldn't. His expression was cold, and his eyes were filled with anger.

"Sui Cheng." Lu Zhi called his name, his breath hotter than usual, the temperature penetrating Sui Cheng's skin and reaching his heart.

"Follow along, follow the captain." Lu Zhi knew he was losing control, but he couldn't bear it. The backlash from the drug was more severe than he had expected. It felt like his body was on fire, with his internal organs constantly being burned and regenerated in the flames.

"I feel so bad." Lu Zhi's tone was like she was whining, but unlike her usual whining, it was softer and more gentle.

The passenger's heart skipped a beat.

"Take medicine if you feel uncomfortable."

Seeing the medicine made Lu Zhi even more upset. He tightened his arms like a child throwing a tantrum because he didn't want to take his medicine.

The passenger was speechless. This person is a grown adult and is still afraid of taking medicine.

"Don't hug me if you're not going to take your medicine." Sui Cheng placed the things on the bedside table and told Lu Zhi to let go of him.

Lu Zhi refused and pulled hard, causing Sui Cheng to fall backward, spinning around until he was pinned down by Lu Zhi.

Sui Cheng frowned. Lu Zhi's strength was unlike that of a patient. He usually looked weak and frail, but his strength was excessive, even able to knock him down.

"Law Enforcer, are you out of your mind?"

Yes, there is.

Lu Zhi's cheeks flushed; if you didn't know he had a fever, you would have thought he was just shy.

"Sui Cheng, I really like you."

The sudden confession stunned the passenger.

Having lived with the captain for 26 years, he had been confessed to countless times since childhood, but this was the first time he had ever been confessed to by a man. The excitement and nervousness that arose spontaneously made his heart beat faster.

“Suicheng, I really like you, don’t pretend you can’t see it.” Lu Zhi’s burning hot hand gently caressed his face, his fingertips tracing from his eyebrows to the tip of his nose, and then to those thin, amorous lips, his fingertips pressing down slightly.

His voice continued: "Whether it's love at first sight or love that grows over time, any reason will do. I just like you. I'm not lying to you, nor am I trying to use you or gain your trust. My feelings for you have nothing to do with anything or anyone."

"When I saw you in that coffee shop, I wanted to kiss you, baby, please?"

What a load of rubbish.

The handsome man in the carriage was already flushed red. He shoved the man away and angrily cursed, "Lv Zhi, I think you've gone mad from the fever! Get out of my way!"

He stumbled out of Lu Zhi's room, his face flushing even more intensely than before.

If you're going to die, then the law enforcement officer is a monster!

But when he thought about Lu Zhi's expression when he confessed his love, he felt his heart beat even faster.
