Chapter 48 Camp Attack

Chapter 48 Camp Attack

Sui Cheng remained silent with a cold expression. Sensing a hint of murderous intent, the man instinctively shut his mouth.

Lu Zhi laughed smugly, "Ah, right, our captain probably caught a cold from being caught in the rain."

The passenger slapped him on the arm. Superhumans are generally very healthy, and they are unlikely to catch a cold from being in the rain.

"Where are the vines?" Sui Cheng then realized that his wrist was empty.

Lu Zhi said casually, "I let it go when I was kissing you."

Even without the kiss, the vines would still investigate, even with the dark expression on his face.

Lu Zhi guessed what he was thinking and whispered, "I just want to kiss you, is that not allowed?"

"No." The passenger refused, not even considering the situation. This person was far too frivolous!

Lu Zhi shrugged indifferently. Anyway, they had already kissed, so it was too late to say anything. But they should have kissed each other a little longer.

Later that evening, while everyone was resting, Sui Cheng leaned against Lu Zhi and was secretly half-pulled into his arms, his arm resting on the back of his head as a pillow for him.

When the vine quietly returned, it bypassed the law and went straight back to the wrist of the attendant.

The passenger was startled awake and instinctively touched his wrist, asking in a hoarse voice, "How are you?"

Lu Zhi covered his eyes with his empty hand and whispered, "It's nothing serious, you should go to sleep."

"You go first." Sui Cheng always put these kinds of things first, so he took Lu Zhi's hand away and let him speak directly.

"Those people from Base One are over there, looking like they're looking for something. The sounds you heard earlier must have been from when they encountered the aliens."

"So there's no danger over there?" the attendant asked.

“You can’t say that,” Lu Zhi said seriously. “The alien species there are just a drop in the ocean, and have you ever thought that Zhong Ling’s group has the same goal as you?”

The attendant immediately sat up straight, glanced at the dimly lit sky outside, and asked in a deep voice, "Has the rain stopped outside?"

“It stopped a long time ago,” the lawyer said.

Sui Cheng paused for a moment, looked at his face, and found it was still as pale as before, with some dark circles under his eyes. "You haven't slept at all?"

Lu Zhi blinked and said playfully, "It's not like I necessarily have to sleep."

The attendant stood up, dusted himself off, clapped his hands, and shouted, "Everyone, get up and let's go!"

Xu Fei was the first to wake up. He had always been a light sleeper, just so he could feel the slightest movement around him.

Everyone woke up quickly and looked at the passengers in confusion.

The attendant, with a stern and unsmiling expression, said, "Pack your things immediately, we're leaving."

Xu Fei quickly asked, "Are we walking there?"

"No, drive. Let's check the time; we should be back in Madrid by now."

In fact, Madrid had already returned; they ran into Madrid on their way back.

When Madrid saw them, he couldn't hide the anxiety on his face, and he looked extremely haggard.

"Captain, something bad has happened! The main camp has been attacked! The party and the others are all gone!"

"What!"

Not to mention those accompanying them, Xu Fei and the others were quite shocked by this news. What did they mean by "disappeared"? Such a large camp, so many people, and they were all special forces superhumans. What could possibly force so many of them to leave the main camp?

Madrid spoke rapidly: "After I came down the mountain yesterday, the main camp was already empty. If the party and the brigade had left on their own, they would have sent someone to notify us, but they left no message. All I saw was a mess, not even the tents were taken down, and there were signs of a struggle and bullet holes."

"Where's the blood? Where's the body?" Xu Fei asked hurriedly.

Madrid shook his head: "There's only a little blood, but no body."

The passengers breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that they hadn't encountered any major crisis.

"Sui, what should we do next? Should we go to the main camp to find the Party Team, or continue to the West City?"

"Back to camp." The accompanying crew had no choice but to abandon their original plan, leading everyone back to the camp before driving back to the main camp.

It was pretty much as described in Madrid—chaotic and clearly the site of a battle.

"Search everywhere to see if we can find more clues," Xu Fei said to his team.

The other reconnaissance teams also began to search the area.

The attendant instructed Chen Jiang and the others to look at the surrounding roads.

Several vehicles were missing from the main camp. If the party members and their men left by car, they would have left traces on the road.

"Go with the team, found it!" Tan Qingjia shouted from the side of a one-way street.

They hurried over and saw muddy tire tracks on the road.

"This route is so remote, it's like they deliberately chose this route," Xu Fei said, crouching down to look at the tire tracks. "Are they trying to avoid something?"

"Let's go, follow the tracks." They got into the car and let Madrid drive ahead, following the tire tracks.

But the tire tracks disappeared at the next intersection.

"There's an underground parking lot over there." They were in a community, and there was an entrance to an underground parking lot next to them, which led into the community.

"Wait." Just as the passenger was about to open the car door and get out to take a look, Lu Zhi grabbed his hand and said in a deep voice, "There's something inside."

"Be on guard!" the attendant shouted immediately, then threw a flashbang into the entrance.

"Bang!" The incandescent light exploded, and a roar came from inside.

"Ugh... Woof!" A pack of pet dogs that had been transformed into mutants rushed up from below, carrying a strong smell of blood.

The rider immediately noticed the bloodstains and bits of flesh on their mouths, and since they were still fresh, it meant there were corpses underneath.

"Clean it up, let's go down and take a look."

"good."

The group quickly cleared away the alien creatures, then turned on their headlamps and cautiously descended. Following the trail of blood, they encountered some lone alien creatures, and then reached the elevator entrance, where a still-fresh corpse lay, bleeding profusely, its abdomen ripped open, its internal organs devoured.

Someone stammered, "This can't be..." The rest of the sentence caught in their throat; they were all afraid it was a member of the special forces.

Xu Fei stepped forward, suppressing his nausea, to examine the clothes on the corpse.

There were many members in the special forces team, and he didn't know them all, so he could only identify them by their clothes.

The official superhuman uniforms at the base are specially made, with their names embroidered on the collar.

Not seeing a name, Xu Fei breathed a sigh of relief and said, "They're not from the special forces."

"That's good." The others immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Sui Cheng said, "Since someone died here, it proves that someone came here, but those alien species were not eliminated."

This is strange; it's like the humans die first, and the alien species arrives later.

Lu Zhi surveyed the surroundings and said in a deep voice, "Captain Sui, there doesn't seem to be any trace of the alien species living here. These alien species must have appeared suddenly."

Sui Cheng immediately thought of the organization that controlled the alien species.

He wasn't the only one who thought of it; Xu Fei and the others also knew about it and thought of it at the same time.

He said with a serious expression, "So, it's also possible that the party members encountered people from that organization?"

The attendant said, "There are also different species."
