Chapter 20 Refusal to Answer

Chapter 20 Refusal to Answer

Hearing his own name out of the blue caught him off guard, and he thought he had been exposed, but seeing Shan Qiu and the others' reactions, he realized that he had been too sensitive.

But it was because of Shan Qiu's words that Sui Cheng suspected that someone in the base might have tipped them off.

Their mission was kept secret. Apart from the people in the Procuratorate, no one knew that they had come to Yancheng. But even the people in the Qinglong Base knew that they had come here. If they showed themselves too much, they would definitely be suspected.

With that in mind, Sui Cheng used the excuse that it was getting late to say goodbye to Shan Qiu and the others, and quickly returned to the small building.

When I got back, Lu Zhi had just come out of the shower, his upper body was naked and still damp, and his pants were loosely draped over his shoulders without a belt. I wondered who he was trying to seduce.

Noticing his companion looking at him, he smiled, hooked his fingers around his waistband, and pulled it down a little to reveal his V-line and toned abs. "Want to see more?"

Accompanying passenger: "..."

It's a bit too much for my eyes.

"If you're not dressed properly, get out of here," the attendant snapped coldly.

Lu Zhi raised an eyebrow as he watched his slightly reddened earlobes, then obediently put on his pants and fastened his belt.

The room had a double bed, but Sui Cheng was determined to sleep on the sofa. He quickly washed up and walked past Lu Zhi toward the sofa.

But how could Lu Zhi let the duck that was about to be eaten get away? He grabbed Sui Cheng's waist and picked him up.

Sui Cheng's eyes widened, not because he was frightened by Lu Zhi's hug, but because he was shocked that Lu Zhi could lift him up so easily.

Sui Cheng, who is 185 cm tall and weighs 80 kg, is a real macho man, yet he was picked up by someone who looks frail.

He was thrown onto the bed, the bed legs creaking as if afraid it would collapse at any moment.

"Cough cough cough."

Hearing Lu Zhi cough, Sui Cheng paused for a moment before saying, "If you're not feeling well, don't even think about doing physical labor, lest you die."

Lu Zhi coughed a few times, but smiled nonchalantly, saying, "Sui has a good physique."

Sui Cheng was teased. She placed her palm against Lu Zhi's chest, feeling the contours of his muscles, and retorted without backing down, "Yours is so-so."

Instead of getting angry, Lü Zhi smiled and said, "My back is fine, and I can try it anytime if I'm interested in joining the team."

Sui Cheng's lips twitched; this sounded like a dirty joke no matter how you looked at it.

Seeing that he was about to get up, Lu Zhi pressed him down again and whispered, "Just sleep here. I won't do anything to you. Otherwise, I'll sleep on the sofa. Wouldn't it make me a jerk if I let you sleep here?"

Sui Cheng paused for a moment and said, "What does this have to do with scumbags?"

“How could a gentleman let his sweetheart sleep on the sofa?” Lu Zhi chuckled.

"You call yourself a gentleman?" Sui Cheng's lips twitched, and he said, "You're more like a rogue."

"Ah, really." Lu Zhi sighed softly, his gaze deepening, and he raised his hand to brush his hair back. "How could you doubt me like that, my darling? It hurts a little."

Sui Cheng wanted to kick him away, but just as he raised his knee, he remembered that the man was in poor health and that one kick might really kill him. So he used his superpower, Frost, to freeze Lu Zhi's hand.

Lu Zhi pouted, looking somewhat aggrieved, and said, "How could you do this?"

Sui Cheng sat up in bed, looked at him calmly, and repeated very seriously, "I don't have those kinds of feelings for you."

“Yes, I know.” Lu Zhi was very frank and did not resist. He just let his hands get cold and laughed, “I do care about you.”

He made no attempt to conceal the aggression in his gaze, scanning everyone in the carriage from head to toe, from eyes to lips, from neck to chest... his thoughts practically written all over his face.

Sui Cheng felt as if his gaze had stripped her naked, leaving her standing bare before him. She couldn't help but grit her teeth and slap Lu Zhi across the face, blocking his burning gaze.

The ice melted into water, and Lu Zhi's icy hand gripped the back of Sui Cheng's neck, pulling him close. Their foreheads touched, their breaths mingling.

Sui Cheng tried to resist, but the vines on his wrists moved on their own and bound him.

"Law Enforcer, what are you going to do?"

Lu Zhi smiled and said, "Don't be afraid. I won't do anything to you without your permission."

Sui Cheng glanced at the vines binding him and asked with a dark face, "Then what are you doing?"

Lu Zhi sighed, "I'm afraid you'll run away."

He lay down on the bed with his companion in his arms, pulled the thin blanket over their chests, and completely imprisoned them in his embrace.

Sui Cheng could feel the heartbeat behind him, not a strong thumping, but rather very calm and weak, as if this person was really about to reach the end of their life.

Lu Zhi had one hand around his waist and the other hand behind his head. His fluffy head rested against the back of his neck, and his breath brushed against his skin, making his heart itch.

“Sui Cheng, I really like you, why don’t you believe me?” Lu Zhi’s weak voice came from behind.

The passenger closed his eyes and did not give a reply.

How could he believe his claim of love at first sight? They had only known each other for less than a month, and Lu Zhi's feelings for him seemed out of nowhere. If it wasn't for some ulterior motive, who would believe it? Nobody would.

“I won’t hurt you,” Lawyer said again.

"I know," the passenger replied this time.

Upon hearing his reply, Lu Zhi tightened his grip, perhaps taking advantage of the situation, as his hand slipped under Lu Zhi's clothes and moved upwards, eventually pressing against Lu Zhi's chest.

“Lawyer, this is sexual harassment.”

"Hmm, how can it not count?" Lu Zhi said shamelessly, "You trust me, so you also have feelings for me. You'll like me sooner or later."

"If you can untie these vines, I can beat you so badly you won't be able to get out of bed for three days," Sui Cheng said through gritted teeth.

Lu Zhi reached out and hooked the vines binding him, smiling meaningfully, "But my darling could clearly untie them by himself."

Accompanying passenger: "..."

He turned his face away and didn't say anything more.

Lu Zhi, however, remained persistent, teasingly asking, "Why not untie it? We share dual elemental abilities with our captain; there's no way we can't even untie this weak vine. It only takes a little bit of our abilities to break it, hmm? So why is that?"

"Shut up." The vines on Sui Cheng's body felt a tingling, numb electric power. It wasn't strong, but it wasn't pleasant either, so they retracted on their own. Now free, Sui Cheng pressed his hand against Lu Zhi's face and pinned him to the bed.

Lu Zhi let out a muffled chuckle and continued to provoke, "Captain Sui, are you afraid that if you hurt the vines, I'll get hurt too?"

Sui Cheng's thoughts were exposed. He bit his lip and was about to speak when he felt his palm being licked. He quickly withdrew his hand and met Lu Zhi's smiling eyes.

"I won't bother you anymore." Lu Zhi held his hand and, under Sui Cheng's shocked gaze, lightly kissed his palm, as if a feather had brushed against it. "It's late, go to sleep."

His casual change of topic made the passenger feel as if his heart had been scratched by a kitten's paw.

The room fell silent immediately.

Lu Zhi remained in the same position, but he didn't make any more physical advances.

Sui Cheng couldn't fall asleep. He thought about it again and again but still couldn't figure it out. He turned over and saw Lu Zhi's bare chest, which was fair and smooth with no wounds.

"Will the injured vine really affect you?"

"Don't you already have the answer in your heart, baby? Why are you still asking?" Lu Zhi said softly with his eyes closed.

"I'll only ask this once. No matter what our relationship is in the future, or what the outcome, I won't ask again." Sui Cheng grabbed his neck, forcing Lu Zhi to open his eyes, his voice low and menacing: "Are you an ordinary person?"

“I refuse to answer.” Lu Zhi gazed into his eyes, his lips brushing against the tip of his nose, and said gently, “I haven’t spent enough time by your side, nor have I won you over, so I cannot answer this question.”

But that is already the answer.

Sui Cheng released his grip. He should have killed Lu Zhi at that moment, but he didn't.

This was also unexpected for Lu Zhi, who had been prepared.

Anyway, he won't die, so it's good to let his attendants kill him to vent their anger.

Sigh, he might be a good husband who loves his wife dearly.
