Chapter 104 A Horde of Drowned Water Ghosts Attacks!

Splash! Splash!

One by one, pale, swollen hands, dripping with foul-smelling slime, with long, black nails, suddenly emerged from the mud!

Next came the swollen head covered in wet, seaweed-covered hair! Then came the swollen body, emanating a putrid stench and entangled in tattered fishing nets and seaweed!

Drowned water ghosts! Hordes of drowned water ghosts!

They were utterly enraged by the violent noise and the overwhelming stench, their murky, pupil-less eye sockets fixed on the [Blood Butcher] squad in the cargo hold, which reeked of fresh flesh and blood!

"Ughhhhhh—!"

The water monsters let out a sickening roar, a mixture of bursting bubbles and grating bones, as they surged into the cargo hold like a tidal wave! They moved slowly, but there were just too many of them! Like a pale, fleshy wave, they instantly blocked the entrance to the cargo hold!

"Damn it! It's a swarm of water ghosts! It's a trap!" The captain's eyes widened in fury as he slashed his kukri at the leading water ghost! "Fire! Fire now! Charge out!" he roared frantically.

Da da da da—!

The man with the buzz cut was the first to unleash a barrage of fire from his submachine gun. The bullets struck the water ghost's swollen body with muffled thuds, splashing up foul-smelling black water and bits of flesh, but they did nothing to stop it!

Instead, because we were too close, I got splashed with disgusting slime!

"Damn! They can't kill them! There are too many!" The crew-cut man retreated in terror while firing.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The snake woman reacted extremely quickly, her hand flashing with cold light as she threw several knives precisely into the water ghosts' eye sockets and throats, taking down both of them.

But even more water ghosts surged up!

The short shotgunner fired a shot at the dense area, and with a huge roar, several water ghosts were blown to pieces, and foul-smelling fragments flew everywhere.

However, the shotgun's slow reload speed meant that the gaps in firepower were immediately filled by the water sprites behind it!

"Captain! The door is blocked!"

"Go that way! There's a small door over there!" The short man pointed to an inconspicuous, rusty little iron door on the side of the cargo hold.

"Go! Quickly!" Scarface slashed off a pale arm that was grabbing at his ankle and led the charge toward the small door.

The four fought their way through the enemy lines and rushed toward the door of hope.

Scarface rushed to the door and yanked on the doorknob—

It didn't budge! The door was locked!
