Chapter 93: Mission accomplished, but the dead end remains!

Jiang Chan's consciousness snapped back to her body!

The intense dizziness had not completely subsided, and the lingering pain of being crushed by high-level energy seemed to remain deep in her soul, but the burning touch in her arms and the faint groan instantly pulled her back to the cold reality!

Before she could even feel the weakness in her body, she immediately took out the system's reward: a warm, cool jade bottle and a rolled-up thin silk handkerchief.

Inside the large jade bottle, a hundred emerald green pills, each the size of a soybean and exuding a refreshing herbal scent, lay quietly.

The silk was covered with the names of medicinal herbs and instructions on how to prepare them.

It's done!

Antidote!

Without the slightest hesitation, Jiang Chan uncorked the bottle and poured out a bright green pill! The medicinal fragrance was refreshing and instantly dispelled the slightly foul atmosphere around her.

"Xiao Tao! Open your mouth!" Her voice was hoarse and urgent, and she shoved the pill directly into Xiao Tao's hot and chapped lips!

The elixir melts instantly upon entering the mouth!

A miracle has happened!

Almost the instant the pill entered his mouth—

Xiao Tao's rapid, heartbreaking breathing suddenly stopped!

Immediately afterwards, the scalding hot body temperature dropped rapidly like the receding tide, and the horrifying bluish-purple and flushed face faded away at a visible speed!

Although still pale and weak, the suffocating and burning sensation of impending death had disappeared!

"Cough...cough cough..." Xiao Tao coughed lightly twice more, but this cough was no longer heart-wrenching; it was more like clearing her throat after choking.

She opened her eyes blankly, her gaze still a little hazy, but it had regained its clarity. "Sister Jiang... my throat is a little dry..."

The voice was weak, yet incredibly clear!

"Xiao Tao!" Jiang Chan hugged her tightly, her heart pounding so hard it felt like it was going to burst out of her chest!

Her heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally felt half relieved. She immediately poured out another pill and swallowed it herself. A cool and gentle power instantly flowed through her limbs and bones, dispelling all discomfort.

"Eat, one pill each!" Jiang Chan tossed the jade bottle to Chen Yan, who was staring in disbelief and almost petrified, her voice short and forceful!

Chen Yan suddenly came to his senses, looked at the emerald green pills in the bottle, and then at Xiao Tao in her arms, whose breathing had become steady and whose complexion had obviously improved. With trembling hands, he poured out two pills and carefully fed them to Zhou Shi and himself.

The groans and coughs around them stopped abruptly!

Dozens of numb, desperate eyes stared intently at the emerald green bottle in Chen Yan's hand, as if they had seen the only lighthouse in endless darkness!

"Medicine...miracle drug!"

"Help me! Give me one!"

"Please! Save my father!"

"I have money! Give it to me!"

Desperate, the crowd erupted with their last survival instincts, struggling and surging toward Chen Yan and Jiang Chan like dying beasts!

The situation was about to spiral out of control!

"Don't move!" Jiang Chan stood up abruptly, her voice not loud, but carrying a chilling, intimidating force. "Line up! One by one! One pill per person! Don't grab! Anyone who tries to grab one will be rejected!"

The chaotic crowd was stunned by her cold gaze and words, and subconsciously stopped pushing and shoving, managing to form a crooked line amidst the chaos.

Chen Yan took a deep breath, suppressed his excitement, and began distributing the pills.

One by one, the bright green pills were fed into the mouth of the dying man.

The coughing stopped!

The high fever has subsided!

The bluish-purple complexion has returned to normal!

The pain-contorted face relaxed!

In the short time it takes to burn half an incense stick!

Inside the thatched hut, it was as if a miracle had occurred. Dozens of plague patients who were on the verge of death were miraculously pulled back from the brink of death after taking that magical elixir. Although they were still extremely weak, the fatal symptoms of the plague had disappeared!

"immortal!"

"A living Bodhisattva!"

"My benefactor!"

The survivors looked at Jiang Chan and Chen Yan with fervent gratitude; some knelt down and kowtowed, while others wept uncontrollably!

The entire abandoned site, once a graveyard of despair, has been transformed into a land of life filled with laughter and tears!

Jiang Chan ignored their gratitude.

She picked up the silk handkerchief with the prescription written on it and walked to the edge of the lime line.

The guards were stunned by the miracle that had occurred in the thatched hut, their mouths agape, as if they were clay or wooden sculptures.

"Hey!" Jiang Chan shouted at the junior guard, "Prescription! Take it! Get the medicine according to this prescription and boil it; it can cure the plague! Save lives!"

The guard, having regained his senses, looked at the silk handkerchief in Jiang Chan's hand, then at the patients in the thatched hut who had clearly come back to life. His eyes first showed disbelief, then greed and doubt surged up!

"A prescription? What a joke!" The tall, thin man from before leaned closer, his shrill voice ringing out!

He pushed through the crowd, his face covered with a cloth, his eyes fixed on the silk handkerchief, then looking with suspicion at the people in the tent who were clearly in better spirits. "Who knows if it's an act? The government has its own doctors! They don't need your folk remedies!"

"Pretending? Are those people alright? Are you blind?" Jiang Chan said coldly, pointing into the shed. "Take it or not? If you don't take it, you'll just watch the city people continue to die?!"

The tall, thin man's expression shifted; he witnessed the miraculous effects of the medicine.

He snatched the silk handkerchief from Jiang Chan's hand, glanced at it briefly, and realized that he didn't recognize most of the medicinal herbs listed on it, only a few common ones.

"Hmph! Who knows if it's true or not! Wait! I'll go report to the lord!" He spoke toughly, but his actions were swift. He gripped the silk handkerchief tightly, turned around, and hurriedly ran into the city.

More than half an hour later.

The sound of horses' hooves approached from afar.

Several well-dressed men who looked like officials rode horses and stopped far away from the lime line, followed by a tall, thin man.

The leading official was a fat man with a goatee, who tightly covered his mouth and nose with a handkerchief soaked in strong medicine, revealing only his two shrewd eyes.
