Endless Prison

Endless Prison

"Numbers 8103 and 8105 have seriously violated New City's traffic and public safety regulations, causing casualties among New City vehicles and humans."

"I will now arrest you according to the law and take you to the central building to determine the charges."

Central building? That wasn't where Jiang Lin was. Sheng Wei and Xie Anran exchanged a glance, their attitude softened, and they obediently followed the traffic policeman onto the flying saucer.

The UFO car was very fast, and they arrived at the central building in less than a minute. Because they cooperated well, the traffic police did not put electronic shackles on them.

They even mitigated their charges, saying they were just impulsive, adventurous Homo sapiens. The traffic police sighed as they watched the two people cooperate as they entered the central building.

"8103, 8105 will be detained for two days with power outage for violating traffic regulations. Please go to the Wubian Prison on the 11th floor to repent." Their crimes were announced in the hall.

Sheng Wei and Xie Anran had their energy batteries quickly taken away.

They immediately pretended to be in hibernation, and two Homo sapiens carried them into the elevator, one on each side, and unlocked their access to the boundless prison on the 11th floor.

The cold metal door opened, and Sheng Wei and Xie Anran were mercilessly thrown in. A huge suction force fixed them to a circular exhibition stand.

After the Homo sapiens closed the metal door and left, Sheng Wei slowly opened his eyes.

There is a whole row of dormant robots here that seems to have no end, and each booth has a corresponding dormant time.

Sheng Wei was about to jump down from the booth when she saw the alarm device under her feet. She threw a magnet on the booth and jumped down.

The magnet was pressed tightly against the pressure button, so the alarm did not trigger. Sheng Wei used the same method to rescue Xie Anran as well.

But the metal door before him was obviously more difficult to deal with. It was tightly closed, without any mechanism or place that could be broken. Sheng Wei stroked the smooth door, feeling somewhat desperate.

By the time Homo sapiens released them two days later, it would have been too late.

There was no way out of this side of the door, so Sheng Wei gave up decisively and walked to the other side with Xie Anran. No wonder this place is called the Boundless Prison.

There was no end in sight to the exhibition booths. Xie Anran's scalp was tingling, so he forced himself to focus only on the road ahead.

Sheng Wei was not afraid. She looked at these imprisoned Homo sapiens with great interest. Some of them had been dormant for as long as a hundred years.

It can also be considered a kind of death. Sheng Wei was a little curious about what crime this Homo sapiens had committed to be in hibernation for two hundred years.

She leaned closer and found a line of words under the booth: This Homo sapiens once helped humans and is a traitor. Unless humans are exterminated, they will remain dormant forever.

Sheng Wei looked at the words above with a complicated expression.

"Sister Weiwei, there seems to be a small door over there." Xie Anran noticed with sharp eyes that under the dim light, there seemed to be a small door on the side, hidden behind booth 293.

Sheng Wei withdrew his gaze and walked towards the secret door.

She tried turning the doorknob, but it wouldn't budge. Since the door didn't look that fancy, she flexed her wrist and slammed it down.

Xie Anran was startled: "Is your hand okay?"

Sheng Wei nodded and continued to try to break the door. It was a pity that she didn't have a big hammer at hand, otherwise it would have been very satisfying to use a hammer. She shook her head with some regret.

The secret door was indeed a little loosened by Sheng Wei. Although the door was old, it was still difficult to open it by hand.

Sheng Wei glanced at the sealed Homo sapiens and walked towards him.

"Excuse me." She pulled the traitorous Homo sapiens off the stand. The core of this kind of Homo sapiens was made of the hardest metal.

Sheng Wei used him to smash the door without hesitation.

Xie Anran stood aside, not knowing how to describe the scene he was seeing. It was too weird.

"Click." The lock of the old door was broken and fell to the ground. Sheng Wei tried to push the door, and it actually worked.

"Your ability is really earth-related, aren't you a strongman?" Xie Anran was a little skeptical. She had never seen Sheng Wei use earth-related abilities before. He relied entirely on hot weapons and brute force.

"Hiss, I don't think it works very well." Sheng Wei looked at the palm of his hand. A small piece of dust gathered around it and dispersed with a gentle blow.

"I've seen someone's earth-based abilities condense into hard earth spikes. Have you ever tried to improve your own abilities?" Xie Anran asked curiously.

Sheng Wei carried the Homo sapiens and walked out the door first: "No time to improve."

Luckily, there was a stairwell outside, but I had no idea where it led to. The ground was covered in thick dust, and I had no idea how long it had been abandoned.

"This building should have been renovated directly on the basis of the old building, so some old things are left behind, which is convenient for us." Sheng Wei sighed.

"Do we have to take this Homo sapiens with us?" Xie Anran pointed at the Homo sapiens carried on Sheng Wei's shoulders.

"Well, it's quite useful as a weapon. This time, the Homo sapiens didn't give me any suitable weapons." The shooting device on the arm is not as convenient as the machine gun in the hand. It's worse than a sledgehammer, Sheng Wei thought depressedly.

According to the position of Shen Xu's painting, Jiang Lin and the others should be on the third floor above. Sheng Wei led Xie Anran up and asked, "Did you see any new images?"

Xie Anran shook her head. Although she wanted to see it too, the danger of Jiang Lin and Wen Yan was the last thing she saw.

I hope Jiang Lin is okay.

The door on the 14th floor was much stronger and more advanced than the one they had escaped from, likely due to the presence of an energy base station. Sheng Wei carefully checked it several times, fearing for any alarm devices.

Jiang Lin and Wen Yan were still in front of the strange metal room. To be on the safe side, they did not enter the room, but continued to search around for the most critical main switch.

"If the situation changes, we will rush in and destroy that super machine." Jiang Lin looked at the ice spike that was stuck in the crack of the door and was flashing a cold light.

"Okay." Wen Yan nodded.

They have gradually found some directions. The things here are placed in sections. The area they just came into is the least important. Even if it is destroyed, the loss will not be great.

The further you go, the more important the contents become, starting to touch upon human history and knowledge. It's surprising that those Homo sapiens actually saved all of this information in electronic form.

Wen Yan thought that since they hated humans so much, they should not keep anything related to humans.

Further in, you'll find the energy supply. Besides natural resources like sunlight and wind, the energy station in the central building relies on leftover energy batteries.

Jiang Lin and Wen Yan fumbled around here for a long time, but had no idea how to destroy it.

"I'm a little reluctant to part with those electronic materials." Jiang Lin said silently. If they were forcibly destroyed, these preserved items would also be affected.

"It's a pity that the end of the world came suddenly, and these materials were not preserved completely. In addition, the rebellion of Homo sapiens was a big deal, and a lot of information previously stored in the virtual world was lost." Wen Yan said slowly.

"If we only destroy the device they use to obtain energy, we should be able to retain the other servers." Jiang Lin said. She had a hunch that the partitioned items here should not be interoperable.

Just as they were about to take action, there was a loud bang on the door from that part of the wall.

Jiang Lin was startled and she glanced at Wen Yan.

Wen Yan shook his head, not knowing what was going on. The two quickly hid in the shadows. Soon, the patrolling Homo sapiens were attracted.

But there was only noise in this area, and no abnormalities were seen.

The patrolling Homo sapiens still called the police, and the central building system began to quickly search for abnormal surveillance footage. But unfortunately, there was no intact surveillance camera in the hidden stairwell.

The original surveillance system had long been broken due to disrepair.

So, the Homo sapiens didn't find anything unusual and could only lift the alarm. The patrolling Homo sapiens walked around in confusion for several times before leaving in dismay.

"Why do I feel like they suddenly became less smart?" Jiang Lin said softly. The strange noise was so serious, but they just left like that.

"Maybe this is beyond what they can understand in their program." Wen Yan also found it very strange.

To be on the safe side, he and Jiang Lin didn't leave the dark spot, but stared at the wall. The sound of metal on metal was particularly harsh. Jiang Lin turned on the built-in soundproofing device in his ears and felt a little better.

Xie Anran, on the other side, was also clearly annoyed by the noise. She huddled in a corner and watched Sheng Wei banging on the door. Sheng Wei seemed to know no fatigue, and instead became more and more excited.

She actually smashed a crack in the solid wall.

Sheng Wei stopped and looked inside through the gap: "It really is an energy base station."

Hearing this, Xie Anran got up from the corner, looked at the gap, and thought to himself: "Dust can erode many things."

Sheng Wei looked at her in surprise.

"Why don't you try and let the wind and sand continue to invade this crack."

Sheng Wei hesitantly gathered dust around the crack, mimicking the wind and sand outside. The dust flew rapidly around the crack, and the crack in the indestructible metal wall actually grew larger and larger.

Xie Anran raised his eyebrows. He didn't expect that the earth-related ability would be so powerful.

The metal wall in front of me looked as if it had been eroded by wind and sand for thousands of years.

Sheng Wei crawled out of the hole which was just big enough for one person to pass through. Her mind couldn't help but recall the first time she and Jiang Lin met, when she crawled out of a broken hole.

As luck would have it, when she looked up, she saw Jiang Lin with a complicated expression.

"You really don't follow the beaten path." Jiang Lin didn't know what he was feeling right now.

"Why did you come here?"

"Our base station was easy to deal with. Xie Anran's foresight allowed me to avoid all the pitfalls, but she saw you walk into a room with a supercomputer."

"I was afraid you were in danger, so I came to find you."

Sheng Wei kept her story short and omitted most of the process.

After Xie Anran came in, she also dragged the door-smashing engineer in: "Don't be afraid. This man-sapien has no energy battery. Now it's just my hammer."

"This is not only their energy base, but also stores a lot of human things, so Wen Yan and I are thinking of destroying it with minimal losses."

"Before we could make any move, you guys started banging on the door and summoned the patrolling sapiens."

Sheng Wei: "Then why didn't they find us?"

"Maybe they have never seen such a thing. There should be no surveillance where you come from." Jiang Lin said, looking through the hole and saw that it was a blocked stairwell.

"Without further ado, Anran, can you see the consequences of us destroying something?" Jiang Lin asked Xie Anran.
