Chapter 425: Ominous Blade Katarina

In the palace that was mostly collapsed and even the throne was stained with blood, Mel witnessed with his own eyes how his mother killed the only remaining bloodline of the royal family - a not-so-old princess, just to cut off the roots, so that she would not start a rebellion again after being exiled, causing more casualties.

Since then, Mel has been exiled because she lacks the determination and courage to show kindness and mercy to her enemies.

But after arriving in Piltover, she used her inherent abilities to win the sponsorship of the Ferros family and learned even more.

Blood and killing have never been necessary. Under Darkwill's leadership, Noxus' cruel tyranny will only lead to more deaths, just like the Noai War a few years ago.

Standing among the soldiers, Mel stared blankly at the last airship that was about to stop, and the chaotic thoughts in his mind quickly calmed down.

"After I was born and grew up, she felt I lacked courage and responsibility, so she exiled me to Piltover alone." Meier chuckled. "I don't know why my mother suddenly came to visit me today, but considering I'm still the poorest generation of the Midalda family, I doubt she would be kind to me."

Jace took her hand, "Mel..."

But just as he opened his mouth to say something comforting, he heard a "puff" sound as the air was released from the valve, and the door of the airship opened.

The three of them looked towards the gate at the same time. Mel narrowed his eyes, Jace looked a little nervous, and Ilora was still a little frightened.

In the thick gas, a sturdy figure appeared, walked out slowly and came to the hatch.

She was a strong woman who looked to be about fifty or sixty years old.

She was nearly 1.8 meters tall, only slightly shorter than Jace. She wore custom-made plate armor, unlike that of ordinary soldiers, and a red cloak draped behind her. Her left hand, wrapped in a red cloth, was inserted into the wide belt, allowing her to quickly draw out the dagger under her palm at any time.

The woman had a head of gray curly hair combed back, and her dark skin, especially the face, neck, and arms that were not protected by the plate armor, had many pink scars, which were obviously caused by cutting with a sharp weapon and then stitching.

Mel stared at his mother and suddenly felt something was wrong...

She was too alert and didn't even ask a question when she saw me. Even her wandering eyes flashed with nervousness and anxiety from time to time.

This is completely different from her previous self who led troops to capture cities and kill people without blinking an eye.

And Mel could see that his mother was not wary or nervous about the now orderly Piltover, but about her current situation.

What is going on?

Before Meldo could think about it, at this moment, a new slender figure suddenly and silently appeared in the white smoke that had not yet completely dissipated, and soon stood beside Anbesa.

It was a young woman with fiery red hair and two short blades on her back.

She was dressed lightly and revealingly, with only a light chest armor and a short leather jacket-style armor on her upper body. Her slender waist, which could be held in one hand, showed off her "vest line" in front, paired with tights and knee-high leather boots for easy movement, as well as a black thorn-like tattoo on her left abdomen. She looked hot and very difficult to mess with, like a rose with thorns.

The young woman raised her chin slightly and glanced casually at Jace, Mel and Irola with a contemptuous attitude. A sneer appeared at the corner of her mouth, and her disdain was evident in her words.

Mel frowned, and it was obvious that her expression had become more nervous since the woman suddenly appeared next to her mother.

She was actually afraid of this arrogant woman?

Why?

"Is this Piltover?"

The red-haired woman patted Anbesa's shoulder and, taking advantage of the open-air platform, quickly scanned the surroundings, taking in all the buildings, large and small.

"It's quite different from what I imagined." She chuckled.

"That's right, Miss Du Kekao." Anbessa's voice was slightly hoarse, and she forced a smile. "I have already told you in advance the difference between Piltover and Noxus."

etc……

Du Kecao?!

Mel forced herself to suppress the shock in her heart. She knew this assassin family famous throughout Noxus very well.

General Du Caucaud was a prominent Noxian politician and warlord, and one of the leaders of the Assassins' Guild.

Not only does he have considerable prestige in the assassin industry, he also enjoys great power in the military and political affairs of Noxus. He can be said to be one of the people at the pinnacle of power.

He had two daughters, but Mel heard that his youngest daughter had died under the yellow sands of Shurima a year or two ago, apparently having touched the restrictions of the Ascended Tomb.

The only person who can still be called Miss Du Coquet, and still be called by her mother who is of equally high status, is Du Coquet’s eldest daughter Catherine.

Sending war masons to secretly infiltrate the Twin Cities is one thing, but a Noxian assassin actually dared to appear in broad daylight in public...

A hint of caution flashed in Mel's eyes.

"I told you, just call me Catalina." Catalina smiled and exchanged glances with Anbesa. "Isn't calling me by my last name a bit too formal?"

"Okay, okay... Catalina." Anbesa took a deep breath and glanced at Mel at the bottom of the escalator. "My daughter and I haven't seen each other for more than ten years. Can you give us some private space?"
