Chapter 8 Welcome to Zaun

"If you want to scare me... unfortunately, I'm no longer at the age to be afraid of ghost stories." Caitlin curled her lips, but her mood was obviously much better.

"I'm not trying to scare you. Haven't you heard the story of Qian Jue? I suspect that the soul of the waiter in the cabin is the same as Qian Jue's. They both serve the great death itself, the existence called the Mother of Masks." Li Lin said with a smile.

"Compared to this allusion, I prefer the version of 'the howling of the lone wolf' as it is known by the people of Dicheng."

Caitlin looked back at Li Lin, a hint of a smile on her face. "Thank you, though. Your story made me feel much better."

Over the next twenty minutes or so, the two chatted about everything from daily life at home to the exotic customs of countries around the world, and their conversation became more and more excited.

Although Li Lin had never actually been to these places, it was not a problem for him to tell a thing or two about them based on his understanding of the background before the time travel combined with his body's original memories.

"Currently arriving at the middle plaza!"

"Hey, Li Lin, you haven't finished telling me the story of ancient fear!" Caitlin looked dissatisfied and followed Li Lin quickly.

"Okay, we've arrived at our destination. Let's talk about it next time when we have time." His voice was a little hoarse, and he waved his hand perfunctorily.

"It can also be done on the road... cough cough cough..."

Caitlin, who had just walked out of the iron cabin, stopped talking abruptly and then started coughing violently.

Li Lin gently patted her back to relieve her discomfort. At the same time, he frowned, tried to slow down his breathing, and tried to adapt to the polluted air that was difficult to breathe.

After a long while, Caitlin, whose expression was a little grim, slowly calmed down. "Thank you, thank you..."

"Look, it's not that I don't want to talk about it, it's just that I really have no choice."

Li Lin touched his uncomfortable throat. The environment in Zaan was much worse than he had imagined.

What's more, this is just the middle level.

Caitlin wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes due to coughing and covered her mouth and nose with her hands.

After she felt much better, she took in the scene in front of her and showed a surprised expression.

"Is this what the city looks like?"

"That's right." Li Lin turned his head and looked at her. Suddenly, he thought of a very classic line, and the corners of his mouth curled up, "Welcome to Zuan."
