Chapter 6

When Gou Fugui jumped into the pit and came into this world, he was carrying a black backpack.

The quirky and adorable manual in that black backpack eventually became Gou Fugui's golden touch, while the rest of the backpack was basically destroyed when Gou Fugui fell into the sea.

Even so, Gou Fugui was reluctant to throw away his backpack at first. After all, it was a very durable bag that he had bought for several hundred yuan, and it contained his mobile phone, wallet, comb and mirror.

Unfortunately, before he could take out the small mirror and comb from his backpack, Xie Tianlang and his three companions descended from the sky.

Upon seeing Xie Tianlang and his three companions, the transformed sea otter Fugui immediately threw away his backpack, leaving it to rest forever on the seabed, just like his clothes.

After all, a real sea otter would never carry a backpack, nor would it wear clothes.

His clothes were washed away by the waves after he transformed because they didn't fit properly, but otters have fur, so they weren't afraid. However, after throwing away his backpack, the sea otter Fugui still felt a pang of heartache—

His phone was waterlogged and unusable, and he didn't have much money in his wallet, but he hadn't had time to take the small mirror and comb he bought! And those were Tan Mujiang pure wood combs—beautiful and durable!

With a small mirror and a small comb, it's much easier and faster for him to groom himself, isn't it?

It's all that werewolf's fault!

Why did it have to fall right in front of him?

But even if he cursed Xie Tianlang to death in his heart, it was useless now; his beloved backpack was still gone. So, the sea otter Fugui, who had joined the fishing team, became unusually diligent. Although his backpack was gone, there were plenty of other backpacks out there on the sea!

He could always find a beautiful little comb and mirror in those bags!

So the people on the lifeboats and life rafts saw the lucky sea otter actively surfacing and diving, retrieving all sorts of bags floating on the surface of the sea at a speed many times faster than the people on the boat.

Everyone assumed that the lucky sea otter was looking for food or was simply curious and had only glanced at it a few times before losing interest. However, Xie Tianlang, who was also retrieving equipment, kept glancing at his Yuan Yuan and never looked away for long.

I have a feeling that this sea otter is deliberately rummaging through my bag.

Otter Fugui tilted his little head and looked at the bag in his hand with some disdain. The bag was covered with all sorts of prickly decorations, which was a bad review. The bag was not waterproof at all and had a big hole in it, which was a bad review. The bag was full of strange cosmetics that he didn't need, which was a bad review!

But what really made the sea otter furious was that it threw away the expensive bag with one paw—it was clearly a bag belonging to a sophisticated woman, yet it didn't contain a small comb or a small mirror!

I even brought cosmetics! Three lipsticks! How could I forget a comb and a mirror?!

Sea Otter Fugui angrily rubbed his face and combed the fur on his head. Women's bags without combs and mirrors are fake bags!

Then, the frustrated sea otter Fugui avoided a floating corpse and set his sights on a black backpack in front of him.

As he passed the body, Gou Fugui sighed inwardly. Even though he had helped find enough lifeboats and rafts, many lives still perished with the sinking of the giant ship.

But at this moment, the living cannot do anything for the dead, because the living still have to struggle to survive.

Gou Fugui looked at the young face, now deathly pale in the dark seawater, paused, and finally reached out his small paw to gently press it down. Then he watched as this young life sank forever into the deep sea.

Returning to the heavens and earth after death is perhaps a kind of reincarnation.

Xie Tianlang watched the sea otter, which had initially angrily rummaged through and threw its bag, and then gently pressed its paw against the dead body. Its wolf-like eyes revealed a terrifying light and did not waver for a moment.

At this moment, Qin Feng, who was standing next to him, couldn't help but call out to him, "Captain Xie, what are you looking at? Don't stay in the water for too long. It's already 5 p.m., and the seawater will get cold after nightfall. You need to conserve your energy."

Xie Tianlang curled the corners of his lips into a smile, an expression that gave him a handsome yet slightly wicked air. His gaze hadn't left the sea otter: "I'm watching a... little miracle."

Qin Feng: "..."

If you want to see sea otters, then see sea otters. I know that sea otter is cute and great, but could you please not describe it in such a cheesy way?

And to be honest, even if you really like this sea otter, you can't take it with you once we get ashore! Sea otters are doomed once they leave the ocean, and you can't exactly carry a bathtub with you, can you?

Just as Qin Feng was internally cursing and couldn't help but roll his eyes at Xie the Demon King, Xie Tianlang suddenly looked at him and revealed a chillingly pleasant smile: "You know nothing."

Even the most intelligent little animals, can they fully recognize the things humans use? They don't feel unfamiliar, they're not afraid, they actively rummage through large bags they've never seen before... and they might even show sadness and grief for the dead.

Even trained dolphins may not be able to do these things.

Xie Tianlang's eyes involuntarily drifted back to the shiny little thing. At that moment, the little thing finally found what it was looking for in a small black backpack—a set of small combs and a mirror.

Xie Tianlang laughed out loud.

A sea otter that can use human tools, grieve for human deaths, understand human speech accurately, and even say "fuck".

This is... really interesting.

"I wonder if spirits can emerge in this world after the founding of the People's Republic?"

Qin Feng: "???" What the heck?!

Fortunately, Xie Tianlang finally stopped staring at the otters. He still has plenty of time to pet, play with, and study the otters, so there's no rush.

Meanwhile, the sea otter Fugui, who had found a set of exquisite wooden combs and small mirrors, finally felt a bit more comfortable—for some reason, he had felt a chill down his spine from the very beginning, as if a wolf was staring at him.

But the sea otter's eyesight was really bad; he turned his head several times but couldn't see anything, which made him very worried.

It's much better now.

Otter Fugui found the comb and mirror, and was quite satisfied with the small backpack containing the comb and mirror.

First of all, this bag is made of genuine waterproof leather. The mirror, comb, phone, and bank cards inside didn't get wet at all. Secondly, the size of this small backpack is perfect for his otter-like gait. Larger backpacks would be difficult for his short arms to hold in place, but this small backpack can be turned sideways and put directly around his neck!

Okay, the otter suddenly realized that it doesn't have a neck, but it can still stubbornly wear this little backpack horizontally across its body, as long as it doesn't fall off.

Although it looks a bit strange to swim with an extra bag on his body, the little backpack can hold more stuff than the pockets under his armpits!

It can hold at least a dozen more sea stones or seashells.

Thinking of stones and seashells, Otter Fugui suddenly felt hungry.

He was hungry again, which is perfectly normal.

After all, he's a lucky sea otter who's done a lot of work, and sea otters are animals that expend a lot of energy. So don't be surprised if you see a sea otter constantly eating or cracking shells; after all, otters can eat, and otters can get things done!

Then the sea otter Fugui put on his little backpack and dived into the sea to find food.

Although there were many things floating on the sea surface at this time, and occasionally some snack bags appeared, for the sea otter Fugui, how could these junk foods compare to the fresh seafood he caught himself?

Even if the storm at sea hasn't ended, there's still plenty of food if you dive deep enough!

So while the people on the lifeboats struggled to hook the boxes with fishing rods or tried to fish in the storm, the sea otter Fugui had already headed to the underwater buffet—

Even at a depth of three meters, you can still feel the traces of the storm and see many corpses and objects sinking continuously.

Gou Fugui saw a dazzling and beautiful diamond necklace floating in front of him, sighed, and stretched out his furry little paws to grab the necklace and put it into his small backpack.

Ten meters below the surface, it's pitch black, and the surface ripples have almost no effect. The sea otter's vision is also limited here, but its hearing and sense of touch become exceptionally acute.

For example, a group of startled little fish swimming in front of him.

It could be for dinner, but he didn't want to eat fish.

Thirty meters below the surface, all was silent. Compared to the raging storm on the sea, it was eerily quiet.

Gou Fugui heard a muffled, downward sound, and he guessed that it was probably... the final whistle of the Brilliant Crystal ship that was continuously heading towards the bottom of the sea.

The fish in the sea here are no longer panicked. They are completely unaware of the existence of the great storm and are swimming happily and naturally in their own world.

Of course, there are also schools of shrimp that crawl swiftly across the sea, as well as large crabs and sea urchin spiky balls that look incredibly delicious!

Wow!

Sea Otter Fugui couldn't resist whistling; don't ask him how he did it. Anyway, it was time for a nice meal.

What makes Otter Richie smarter and more advantageous than ordinary sea otters is that Richie knows how to use tools!

If it were an ordinary sea otter here, it could only catch two or three sea urchins or a few large shells and stuff them into its pocket.

But! Otter Fugui with his small backpack is different! Although this backpack is a little small, it can still hold a basketball!

If you were to convert that to sea urchin spiky balls, shrimp, and crab, it would hold at least a dozen!

So the sea otter, Fugui, began a frenzied, all-you-can-eat fishing spree—

First, load in six spiky balls, then load in a dozen or so small fish and shrimp that come to our door! Oh dear, there's a group of domineering giant crabs ahead. They're too big, so we'll just squeeze in two for now!

Just by casually scooping and arranging the food, his little backpack was already full. At this point, Sea Otter Fugui glanced regretfully at the remaining food in the sea, always lamenting that his plate was too small to hold everything he wanted to eat…

But this meal is enough, and I've had enough to hold my breath for, so let's hurry up and go upstairs.

Sea otter Fugui happily returned with his catch, and as his little head surfaced, he saw Xie Tianlang turn around and catch his eye.

Whether it was a misperception or not, Gou Fugui felt he saw a fleeting worry in those eyes. But when he peeked out, there was only a smile in those eyes.

"Tsk."

What are you laughing at? Daddy came back with a bang this time! If you'd like to call me "Dad," I'll share some shrimp with you.

Thinking of this, Gou Fugui suddenly became excited. He happily let out two "ah ah" sounds, flicked his tail, and quickly swam towards Xie Tianlang.

Then, as Xie Tianlang reached out and lifted him onto the life raft, Otter Fugui excitedly patted the little bag behind him with his tiny paw: "Aww!"

Call me Dad! I'll give you some to eat!

Xie Tianlang raised an eyebrow as he watched the little creature's tail practically sticking up in the air. He then reached out and opened the small black backpack, which contained six large sea urchins, a dozen lively shrimp and small fish, and two large, menacing crabs.

This is quite a feast for dinner.

Xie Tianlang chuckled and patted Otter Fugui's head: "Yuanyuan is great! Yuanyuan, you eat. Daddy won't eat."

Sea Otter Fugui: "Awoooooo!"

Who do you think you are, Dad? Calling you "Dad" doesn't mean you have to be the dad, understand?

But at least you have the self-awareness to not steal the otter's food.

So the sea otter Fugui thought for a moment, then used his little paws to pull out two large sea urchins and four prawns that weren't jumping much, and generously gave them to Xie Tianlang, that unfilial son.

Before Xie Tianlang could even begin to appreciate the strange feeling of being fed by small animals, a voice suddenly rang out from the side:

"Hey, it's okay if we can't catch any fish! We still have this sea otter, right? We can just have it fetch food for us!"

The sea otter, Fugui, stopped eating shrimp abruptly.

Xie Tianlang, whose expression had been gentle, suddenly looked up and instantly changed his demeanor.

His expression was like that of a cruel wolf about to devour its prey; the wolf grinned menacingly at the man who had spoken.

"Who will you ask to fetch food for you?"

"Try saying it again?"

Author's Note:

Otter Rich: This ocean has been taken over by otters!

Otter Rich: Call me Dad, and I'll give you a spiky ball to eat!

Xie Tianlang: Daddy's not hungry, Yuanyuan will eat~

Xie Tianlang: No one can enslave Daddy's son. Ha.
