Chapter 2 The Dragon's Evil Deeds

"The old Earl of Rangnick was so kind, charging only five silver coins a month for rent and allowing some struggling shops to pay on credit."

“The Earl of Lannick, who has now inherited the title, is too cruel. In the two years since he inherited the title, the rent has more than doubled.”

An elderly man wearing glasses looked at the scene outside a bakery called Elise's Bakery and began to sigh.

Beside him was his granddaughter, Elise, who had just turned sixteen and was now his only family member.

The beautiful young girl was wearing an apron with a bear pattern, thick cotton gloves, and holding a loaf of freshly baked bread. She was glaring angrily at the bullies outside who were forcibly collecting rent.

Since the current young Lannick inherited the title, many of her familiar uncles and aunts have moved away from the town, and business in the town has been declining day by day.

Even their family's bakery, the most successful in town, had trouble selling all their bread.

This is something that has never happened before.

Irene put down the bread, untied her apron, and wanted to rush out to confront those guys.

The old man immediately stopped him. Just as he was about to say something, he suddenly heard people outside the shop exclaim in surprise.

It was a cry mixed with surprise, fear, and shock.

The old man and Irene both looked outside.

In the sky, a black dragon over six meters long slowly descended and stood on a three-story building. It folded its wings and looked down at the people below with its majestic dark golden dragon eyes.

"It's a dragon!"

It's unclear who first cried out in alarm, but people began to flee in panic, shouting that a dragon was coming. Shop doors were slammed shut, and soon the streets were deserted.

Am I that scary?

Su Qing was very frustrated; all he wanted was to find something to eat.

My gaze swept across the street and I was surprised to find three guys who hadn't hidden themselves.

Especially among the three, the two on the left and right had their sacks fall to the ground, scattering some gold and silver light.

Su Qing's eyes lit up instantly, like two golden lamps, burning brightly.

It stretched out its dragon claw, grabbed two bags of silver coins, opened them and looked inside; they were roughly equivalent to a dozen or so gold coins.

Even though mosquito legs are small, they're still meat.

Su Qing didn't mind at all.

The goatee-bearded steward was furious. He had just finished collecting rent from a household and was walking down the street when he heard someone shouting "dragon!"

Then he saw the evil dragon covered in black scales. When he tried to hide, all the shops around him shut their doors tightly.

Then he saw the dragon staring at him, and then he found his legs went weak.

Seeing that the dragon had taken their silver coins, it turned its attention to him.

The goatee-bearded steward's legs buckled again, and he nearly fell to the ground: "Great Dragon Master..."

Before he could finish speaking, Su Qing grabbed him, shook him up and down, and a few more gold coins fell out.

He then instructed the two guards beside him to do the same.

Wealth points +3

Su Qing was very satisfied. She had originally come looking for food, but she hadn't expected to have such a pleasant surprise.

They then threw the three of them out of the town one by one.

They deserved to die from the fall; if they didn't, they were lucky.

He had witnessed the actions of those three people, so naturally he felt no pity.

Walking on the street, a street that can accommodate many people walking side by side, felt a bit narrow to him.

However, Su Qing soon found what she was looking for: a bakery.

He glanced at the signboard, a strange look appearing on his ugly face, and scratched his head.

Lace Bakery?

As he bent down to open the door, he noticed a word on the floor that he had rubbed off.

It turns out to be Elaine's Bakery!

Su Qing didn't care. She stretched out her paw, opened the door, took out the basket she had "found," and began to grab handfuls of bread from it.

The baskets were quickly filled.

"That's outrageous!"

Irene was furious; that wretched dragon had robbed their family of all their bread.

The old man beside her quickly comforted his granddaughter: "Don't worry about it, it's just some cheap bread. Don't get into a fight with that terrible dragon."

The old man was worried that his proud and arrogant granddaughter would lose her temper.

After all, there is a terrifying dragon outside.

"I am not afraid of it!"

Irene is very stubborn.

As a high-level magic apprentice, she is extremely talented; in fact, she is already able to cast spells.

Moreover, she judged that the dragon was only six meters long, so it must be very young.

If she can get her to use her magic, she should be able to drive it away.

If it is left here, it may bring disaster to the entire town.

Irene felt that she should take on the responsibility of protecting the town.

After all, both magicians and knights are guardians of humanity.

Soon, Irene persuaded her grandfather, who then agreed to let his granddaughter try.

Perhaps it was because he admired his granddaughter's abilities that the old man looked at her with anticipation and affection.

Iris has really grown up. It's time to find her a handsome husband so that I can hold my great-grandson soon.

Perhaps this bakery can be passed down through generations...

"The fire element between heaven and earth... the great goddess of fire... raging and blazing..."

As she chanted for three minutes, somewhat haltingly, the girl's face turned as pale as paper. For her now, casting real magic was still too difficult, even with the magic wand given to her by her teacher.
