Chapter 201 As time goes by

She came as a hostage.

Sherry, a former member of the dark organization, whether it's due to lingering feelings or something else, ultimately chooses to help the organization's boss and colleagues.

This better explains why Shiho Miyano appeared here.

If it were just for making a few sarcastic remarks, she would surely lose her life.

Neither the heroes nor the villains could possibly understand this logic.

“You’re right!” Karasuma Renya realized what was happening and was the first to agree with her granddaughter’s idea.

"We'll take her out now and use her to negotiate with the police!"

“There are snipers outside,” Gin said coldly.

"They won't kill Sherry and the people controlling her, but others might be a different story."

Shiho Miyano, who had fallen due to her injury, slowly propped herself up and looked at him with a hearty laugh.

"As expected of you! You can think of this right away, even at a time like this."

This is indeed a problem.

The hostage-takers had always assumed that the police would be hesitant to fire their weapons.

In reality, the police always prioritize killing such criminals.

Unless the hijackers can evade snipers the entire time.

But with three people holding one hostage, it became an impossible task.

"Using me as a hostage, at most only one person can escape." Shiho Miyano laughed gleefully.

"You three, how about we do a raffle first?"

Looking at her devilish face, Gin suddenly understood her true purpose for coming here.

She did not intend to negotiate or persuade them to surrender.

They didn't come to be hostages to rescue them.

What she wanted was this moment, to make it impossible for the three people present to stand together.

They even killed each other over it.

Ah, Shirley!

You really are still that seemingly innocent demon messenger!

When Gin saw Karasuma Renya looking at him, he bent down and took the remote control from his hand.

She then grabbed Shiho Miyano's arm and handed it to him.

"Sir, you may leave now."

Karasuma Renya and Miyano Shiho were both stunned, raising their heads to look at Gin, who had made such a casual decision.

“Gin, why…”

“There’s no why,” Gin replied expressionlessly. “My lord, your life has meaning.”

"And I was already dead."

The air remained still for a while.

Karasuma Renya tilted his head back, trying to discern whether Gin's expression was sincere in the darkness.

Gin stood up straight again.

Because of his leg injury, he could only lean against a pillar, his eyes still alert, as if he were listening intently to any sounds outside the villa.

Knowing it wasn't his turn to choose, Absinthe lazily examined them.

After an unknown amount of time, Karasuma Renya laughed.

His laughter started low, then gradually grew louder, until finally he tilted his head back and laughed so hard that it filled the entire empty room, making people's eardrums hurt.

"You've already died once, Gin!"

"That's something I've never experienced in my 140 years of life!"

"What's so good about living? I've had enough of living!"

The laughter stopped, and he turned to Shiho Miyano and extended his hand.

"Give me the antidote..."

"grown ups!"

Along with Gin's urgent cry, Vermouth's languid voice rang out.

"Grandpa is right! Gin, you can't be the only one who's died, can you?"

"Isn't the pleasure of death a kind of pleasure?"

Seeing Karasuma Renya's affirmative gaze, Miyano Shiho moved her injured arm and took out a small medicine box from the inside pocket of her clothes.

There was only one pill in the semi-transparent box; it was a pure white capsule.

Karasuma Renya looked at the box for a while, then released Miyano Shiho.

He pushed her toward Gin and took the medicine himself.

“Go, Gin, take her out.”

"You are the one who should experience 'living'."

...

As Gin dragged Shiho Miyano, whose hands and feet were injured and who was having difficulty moving, toward the villa gate, he looked somewhat dazed.

This expression rarely appeared on his face.

Shiho Miyano's condition isn't much better either.

Because they didn't leave immediately, but instead watched helplessly as Karasuma Renya took the "antidote".

It is both an antidote and another kind of poison.

A poison called "Time".

After taking the medicine, Karasuma Renya remained silent for a while, seemingly savoring the bitterness that was actually indescribable.

Because that bitterness actually comes from the bottom of one's heart.

He only let out a long breath when everyone around him held their breath and stared at him.

“I’ve lived too long,” he said.

"It's been so long that I've forgotten that 'growing up' can be quite painful."

That's exactly what he's felt during these 10 years of rejuvenation.

His state is that of a fully mature soul being forcibly stuffed into a child's body.

They clearly knew, clearly understood, and clearly had the world firmly in their grasp.

Karasuma Renya did not live for 130 years in vain; even though his body showed signs of aging, his mind did not.

He possesses the wisdom, experience, knowledge, and shrewdness of a 130-year-old man—the pinnacle of human spirit that can only be attained by devoting a lifetime of time and wealth.

However, because his brain, which had been rejuvenated, could not comprehend the process, just as a low-level CPU cannot run a high-level program, all the work he had done over the past 10 years had been completely futile.
