Xie and Wei were unaware of what had happened on the other side.
As if guided by something, Xie Wei used the intensity of his mental agitation to determine his direction and ended up in a place different from the others.
Now they were faced with a lake. He had come here using unscientific methods and had no idea what to expect, but a strong voice was telling him.
"Jump in! Jump in! Jump in!"
After much deliberation, Xie Wei decided to listen to her heart.
"Qingying, I want to go down and take a look. You can wait for me on the shore," he said to Lin Qingying.
Lin Qingying agreed without hesitation. She trusted Xie Wei unconditionally. She also knew that if the two of them stayed together, Xie Wei would prioritize her, and she would become a burden to him. She didn't want that.
Seeing her nod, Xie Wei jumped into the lake. His vision was blurred, and looking down, he saw only an abyss and fear. But Xie Wei continued to descend, and when he was almost at the bottom of the lake, he found a passage.
The passage was narrow and seemed to stretch endlessly into the distance, with no clear destination at the other end. Xie Wei wanted to share this news with Lin Qingying and rest for a while before exploring the path again.
As if a switch had been flipped, the water in the passage surged and turned into a vortex that swept Xie Wei in. Before Xie Wei could react, he was sucked into the passage.
Standing on the shore, Lin Qingying kept staring at the lake. Half an incense stick's time had passed, and she was worried about Xie Wei's safety.
Suddenly, the calm lake surface stirred. Lin Qingying thought Xie Wei was coming up and was about to breathe a sigh of relief when she saw the lake surface turn into a whirlpool, constantly crashing against the land on the shore.
"Third Brother, something's happened!" Lin Qingying jumped in without thinking, but she underestimated the situation under the lake and was swept into the depths of the lake.
When most people encounter danger, they instinctively close their eyes. Lin Qingying, however, did not. She kept her eyes open, trying to see her surroundings and find Xie Wei.
But the surrounding water pressure kept hitting her body, and even at the Innate Realm, she didn't know how long she could hold on.
In a hazy state, she seemed to see Xie Wei, and saw him swimming towards her against the current.
Xie Wei released his spiritual power, which transformed into threads that enveloped Lin Qingying against the direction of the vortex.
Her mental energy neutralized the water pressure around her, making her feel as if she were underwater as usual.
'There's such a way to use mental power!' Lin Qingying looked at the golden threads spinning around Xie Wei just like her own.
However, maintaining this state indefinitely is very difficult, especially for two people. Lin Qingying knew this well, so she quickly released her mental energy to help him share the burden.
Xie Wei tapped her head and gestured to her, roughly meaning to go forward in the direction of the vortex.
Now, walking against the current, Xie Wei was worried that Lin Qingying wouldn't be able to hold on, so he went forward to see if there was a place for them to rest.
However, Lin Qingying had only just reached the Innate Realm, and it was still somewhat difficult for her to use her mental energy as skillfully as Xie Wei. She would waste a lot of mental energy in the process, and soon she looked troubled. But she was afraid that Xie Wei would worry, so she pretended to be relaxed.
Xie Wei had long noticed that the girl's spiritual energy was somewhat unstable. Knowing that she didn't want to hold him back, he took her hand and, under her surprised gaze, used his spiritual energy to envelop both of them, guiding the flow of her spiritual energy.
This feeling was somewhat magical. The mental sensation was equivalent to an infinite amplification of the senses. Guided by Xie Wei, Lin Qingying felt as if she had merged into his body, as if the two of them were united. Her face couldn't help but turn slightly red.

Lin Qingying tried to let go, but Xie Wei seemed to sense her intention, so he tightened his grip and glared at her.
This was the first time he had taken her hand on his own initiative, and it was somewhat domineering and forceful, not allowing her to let go. Lin Qingying felt as if she had no regrets in this life.
However, the exhaustion on Xie Wei's face still pained her; she felt somewhat useless.
Finally, dappled white light appeared on the lake in front of them, indicating that they had reached the end of the passage.
The two reached the shore at the other end of the passage, panting heavily. Fortunately, it was Xie Wei; if it were a normal person, they would have died inside long ago.
The two first sat down on the shore to rest and recover their physical and mental strength.
Lin Qingying woke up earlier than Xie Wei. She stared blankly at Xie Wei, who was still resting in front of her. The strange feeling from earlier resurfaced in her mind, and she couldn't help but move closer to him.
Just as her lips were about to touch his face, Xie Wei opened his eyes. Lin Qingying snapped out of her daze, quickly withdrew her movements, and pretended to sit there obediently, but dared not look at Xie Wei.
"Ouch!" Xie Wei tapped Lin Qingying's head. She thought he had noticed her earlier action, but Xie Wei patted her head again.
This left Lin Qingying somewhat confused about Xie Wei's intentions.
There was only one road on the shore, so Xie Wei and Lin Qingying could only walk forward.
Watching Xie Wei's retreating figure, Lin Qingying's gaze unconsciously drifted to his hand. She remembered his hand in the water earlier; it was wider and warmer than hers, and she wanted to hold it!
After walking a few minutes further in, a stone gate similar to the one outside stood before them, its strange patterns appearing solemn and sacred.
Xie Wei and Lin Qingying split up and began searching for a way in.
