"Third Brother, over here!" After a few minutes, Lin Qingying hurriedly called out to Xie Wei, indicating that she had made a discovery.
Xie Wei approached and discovered a keyhole-like shape on the side of the stone gate.
"Does this mean they need a key? Where would we get a key?"
After saying that, Lin Qingying watched as Xie Wei took out a strangely shaped key from somewhere.
This is the key that Xie Lan gave as a reward along with information about the ruins. Xie Wei doesn't know if it's the right one, but there's no harm in trying it.
"Third Brother, where did you get the key?" Lin Qingying asked. She had been following Xie Wei the whole way and hadn't seen him get the key at any time.
"It was just found underwater, I don't know if it is or not," Xie Wei said nonsensically.
But Lin Qingying didn't see anything wrong with it, nodded, and believed Xie Wei's words.
After inserting it, give it a twist, and the stone door will slowly move.
It can be opened!
Upon entering, one finds a closed cave with a coffin in the center and the walls painted with bold, dark colors.
"What are these murals depicting? They look rather terrifying." Lin Qingying suddenly noticed the difference between the cave and the outside. The murals in this cave seemed to be telling a story.
Upon hearing Lin Qingying's words, Xie Wei looked in the direction she pointed. The mural depicted a pitch-black evil dragon surrounded by many people holding various weapons.
'Are these former cultivators? Or immortals?' Xie Wei continued looking down.
The next scene shows those people, some lying on the ground with their weapons lying aside, seemingly already dead, some kneeling on a red patch of earth watching the battle in the sky, and others bleeding from the corners of their mouths as they struggle to fight the evil dragon.
Then, after an unknown amount of time of fighting, the ground was littered with human corpses, their faces obscured. A person with flowing white hair held a black stone in their hand, and the crowd seemed to be channeling some kind of power into that stone, determined to fight the evil dragon to the death.
Finally, the dragon disappeared, and the group of people gradually faded into nothingness before vanishing completely.
The mural tells roughly this story.
"Third Brother, will there really be dragons?" Lin Qingying asked Xie Wei.
"Perhaps there is, or perhaps the people who built this site wanted to fabricate heroic deeds, or perhaps this evil head specifically refers to something," Xie Wei said, expressing his opinion.
The two then turned their gaze to the stone coffin in the very center.
