The two approached the stone coffin.
The patterns on the "bang" (on both sides of the sarcophagus) are the same as those on the stone wall, only lacking some color and appearing somewhat monotonous, that's all.
The "Heaven" (the lid of the stone coffin) is carved with a dragon. Upon closer inspection, the dragon has five claws, and its scales are lifelike, a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Its proud expression is very vivid, with its mouth slightly open and its eyes determined as if it wants to join the Party, as if it is about to come back to life at any moment.
There are five such dragons, each located in one of the four corners and the center of the "sky". The four in the corners face the corresponding directions, while the one in the center holds a "dragon pearl" in its mouth and faces east.
It is likely that the east was considered the most prestigious direction at the time, in order to highlight the nobility of the owner of this stone coffin.
The two tried to open the stone coffin by force, but to no avail.
Xie Weiyi had noticed long ago that only the dragon in the middle was holding the "dragon pearl" in its mouth, and felt that there must be some mystery here.
He shielded Lin Qingying behind him, his fingertips gently twirling the "dragon pearl".
"The Dragon Ball kept rolling," and after a few seconds, the coffin began to vibrate, causing the pebbles on the ground to jump around, as if something was about to come out of it.
Xie Wei frowned, staring at the coffin. He took a few steps back, blocking Lin Qingying's path, and looked back at the entrance he had come from, waiting for the outcome.
"Aww~"
A dragon's roar came from the stone coffin, and then a figure gradually appeared in the "sky". Upon closer inspection, it was the five-clawed golden dragon carved on the coffin lid.
The five-clawed golden dragon circled the room once before heading straight for Xie Wei and his companion.
However, the golden dragon only enveloped Xie Wei, gradually forming a thin layer of spiritual energy around him to separate him from Lin Qingying.
"Third Brother!" Lin Qingying said anxiously when she saw the strange situation in front of her. She wanted to reach out and touch Xie Wei, but it was as if there was a wall between them.
“I can sense that it means no harm,” Xie Wei said gently, trying to calm Lin Qingying down. “Wait here for me for a moment.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a colorful spiritual energy shield appeared with a radius of about five meters centered on Xie Wei, making it impossible to see what was inside.
Under Lin Qingying's gaze, it detached from the ground and gradually floated into the air.
Xie Wei, inside the sphere, was unaware that he was suspended in mid-air; all he could see were colorful spiritual energies floating around him, dazzling and vibrant.
'Colorful spiritual energy?' Xie Wei stretched out his fingertip and curiously touched the spiritual energy floating in front of him.
It is common sense that spiritual energy in the world is formless and colorless, but he saw something that defied common sense before his eyes, so it is no wonder that he reacted this way.
The moment it touched the colorful spiritual energy, the energy suddenly gathered in the center and condensed into a figure.
The figure was tall and elegant, with a handsome and dashing appearance. His long hair flowed in the wind. Although his face was not clearly visible, one could vaguely discern his features and general expression. He appeared to be a man.
"Is this spiritual power from 'Red Dust'?" The figure raised his eyes and glanced at Xie Wei, speaking slightly, his voice as cold as expected.
"May I ask who you are, senior?" Xie Wei lowered his head, clasped his hands in a fist salute, and bowed slightly.
Seemingly pleased with the man's polite manners, the younger man stroked his nonexistent beard with feigned profundity and spoke with a hint of a smile: "Fated one, I am an immortal, whom outsiders call 'Heartless'."
"Heartless Immortal! You are the Heartless Immortal!" Xie Wei stood up, looked up at the figure, his pupils wide open, his brows furrowed, and his expression wooden.
'This immortal ruins belonged to the Heartless Immortal; no wonder Xie Lan guided me here.'
"Surprised?" The Ruthless Immortal turned around, his tone indifferent. "You've cultivated the 'Red Dust' technique, so your spiritual power should be able to sense it."
"And I suppose you should have realized it by now. The restrictions I placed on this site should be completely ineffective for you. This is thanks to your cultivation of the 'Red Dust' technique."
Xie Wei, a "dull and foolish junior," truly did not connect the agitation of his spiritual energy with this matter. After pondering his words, he asked again, "How can a person with a predestined connection understand this?"
The ruthless immortal turned around and seemed to glance at Xie Wei with approval in his eyes. The person in front of him knew how to grasp the key points and slowly began to speak.
"This site is opened once every hundred years. You are the first person in a thousand years to enter this ancient tomb, but entering this burial chamber is only one of the conditions."
"The second condition is to lure out the golden dragon carved on the stone coffin, and cultivating the 'Red Dust' technique is the second condition."
"The final condition is to gain the approval of the Golden Dragon. The eyes of the five-clawed Golden Dragon can see through a person's true nature, and those who are approved by it must possess the five virtues of a gentleman."
"Those who meet the above three conditions will be our destined ones standing before me."
"Then what does this so-called destined person need to do?" After hearing his words, Xie Wei once again put aside his questions.
The Ruthless Immortal smiled and continued, "You are very clever, much cleverer than any of my disciples, or rather, much more perceptive."
"You flatter me, senior."
"You should have seen the murals on the wall, right?"
Xie Wei nodded, already having a guess in his mind.
"That was a war from a thousand years ago..."
"When spiritual energy is at its peak, innate beings break through to the mortal realm everywhere. There are as many as ten immortals like me. Various spiritual beasts and strange beasts that have awakened their intelligence also emerge one after another in the mountains and seas."
"The nine-headed world-destroying black dragon was originally just an ordinary beast, but by chance, it received the inheritance of the ancient beast king, evolved into a nine-headed creature, and possessed the power to destroy the world. It began to lead its horde of beasts to occupy human cities, treating the humans in the cities as food or slaves."
"The cultivators of the immortal realm began to unite against the army of alien beasts, and I also led my disciples to join this war."
