Of course, this thought was fleeting, as we didn't have time to dwell on it, or even to speculate. Suddenly, a large ancient building appeared before our eyes, its architectural style peculiar and strange, standing in the Yinshan Mountains. And to the north of this ancient building, it was exactly where the dark cloud was shrouding it. I thought, Bohongshan must be beneath that dark cloud, and was doing something shameful again!
But if you want to get there, it seems you have to pass through this strange ancient building.
"This is..." Ning Xue looked at the ancient building and suddenly said in surprise, "Could this be the ancient temple in Yinshan?"
Yinshan Ancient Temple? Upon closer inspection, this building certainly bore a striking resemblance to an ancient temple. Surrounded by the boundless expanse of the ancient plains, the majestic temple loomed large before the passerby. But the only strange thing was, from afar, the atmosphere of this ancient temple seemed so eerie and gloomy. It was as if no one had lived there for years.
"Now that you mention it, I do have that feeling. The man named Huo Liang just now said that if you want to find Bohong Mountain, you must pass by him. However, there is no ancient tomb or burial ground here. Could it be..." Gloria looked at me puzzledly.
"There's only one road ahead. It seems the Sui Hou Tomb Huo Liang mentioned is most likely inside this ancient temple," I said sullenly. Because I sensed the eerie feeling that only emanated from the depths of a tomb, I strongly suspected the tomb chamber might be inside the ancient temple!
Ning Xue gazed at the ancient temple ahead, her mind wandering. "It's said that this Yinshan ancient temple is made up of eight mourning halls. The atmosphere inside each hall is eerie and terrifying, just like the mourning sheds built for funerals after someone dies, and even more terrifying. Maybe there's more..."
When she said this, Ning Xue's face suddenly turned pale.
Even if she didn't say it, we could probably guess a thing or two. But since I have the courage to face Huo Liang and Bo Hongshan, I don't have to worry about anything else.
As we approached, the true face of the ancient Yinshan Temple gradually emerged. The temple itself wasn't large, consisting of only a few halls, but its architecture was exquisite and magnificent. The Great Yinshan Temple Hall, built on a square platform, stood two stories tall, with slightly tilted columns. Red pillars and winding corridors featured elaborately carved and painted capitals. Murals flanked the entrance, and the interior was even more dazzling. The walls, lintels, and curtains were all vibrantly painted, their vibrant colors enduring. The rocks were covered in vibrant paintings of Buddhas, rock paintings, and depictions of birds, animals, and flowers, all vibrant and vibrant.
Most uniquely, the embankment is surrounded by a rooftop corridor. Upon reaching the temple, visitors can stroll along the corridor, holding their embankments and gazing out at the vast grasslands stretching as far as the eye can see. The faint sound of smoky air rises from yurts in the distance, and occasionally, the distant bleating of sheep pierces the boundless silence of the Great Wall.
We carefully entered the first hall closest to the ancient temple. The surrounding environment suddenly became dark, and gusts of cold and chilly air rushed through our bodies, which was very creepy.
"Ning Xue, you just said that this ancient temple consists of eight mourning halls. It does have the eerie feeling of a mourning hall, but the environment and facilities...it clearly looks like a temple, not a mourning hall?" I looked carefully at the environment and layout of the hall. It didn't look like what Ning Xue said, that there was a mourning shed built after someone died in the family, a mourning hall set up, and a memorial tablet placed on it.
This was a typical temple setting, at best a bit more "luxurious" and spacious than an average small temple. Incense and candles burned on either side. In the center of the innermost hall stood a large Buddha statue. Eighty square pillars, carved and painted with various patterns, were wrapped in tufted carpets with cloud and dragon motifs. Dozens of couches were arranged on the floor, covered with Tibetan carpets. The walls were covered with paintings depicting the life of Sakyamuni Buddha and various guardian deities. Colorful banners hung from the ceiling, creating a solemn and magnificent atmosphere within the hall.
The entire hall can accommodate more than a thousand lamas to chant scriptures here. You can imagine how luxurious and spacious it is!
But, where is the funeral hall? How did it suddenly become a Buddhist temple?
I looked at Ning Xue with curiosity, but she giggled and said, "Don't worry about the details. We just came out of a huge illusion. Who can tell if what we see is an illusion? Moreover, even if it is not an illusion, this Suguqin Hall, located at the front, is the largest building in the ancient temple, covering an area of 1,500 square meters and has at least three floors. We are only on the first floor of this hall."
I rolled my eyes. Ning Xue's words made sense. Besides, I had no recollection of this Suguqin Palace. Only someone as knowledgeable as Ning Xue could know such details. The most suspicious thing was that if a ship this large could be an illusion, no one could guarantee that the Suguqin Palace we were in wasn't an illusion.
After all, it is not surprising that anything appears around Yinshan Mountain, which has been affected by Bohongshan.
We were planning to explore further into the hall, hoping to find any unusual areas on the other two floors, or to identify the passage leading directly into the heart of Yinshan. My immediate concern was finding Bo Hongshan quickly; I could wait until Bo Hongshan removed the curse from my neck. I could already feel the fierce blood curse branded on the right side of my neck, a burning sensation, as if it were on fire.
I touched it and could still feel cracks, as if the skin on my neck was slowly cracking, becoming uneven. I was terrified, but I didn't want them to know, especially Su Xiaoniu. She'd hear anything I thought, so I couldn't even think about it, constantly preoccupied with other things. On the surface, I calmly reflected my neck on the relatively smooth, transparent rock wall.
