Chapter 151 I Want It Forever

Mr. Lu’s cooking skills are indeed good. The dish of fried duck eggs with vermicelli was so delicious that Jian Yunxi almost dropped his tongue.

"Uncle, you are really creative. How did you think of combining rice noodle skin and duck eggs? It's really delicious!"

"Haha." Father Lu was very pleased with Jian Yunxi's compliments, but he couldn't take credit for anything. "That's not my idea. I went to Taierzhuang with your aunt before and saw the local specialties."

"Your uncle came back and couldn't forget the taste, so he figured it out and made it himself."

Mother Lu added.

"Then you didn't learn how to make this sweet and sour pork ribs when you traveled to Wuxi, did you?"

"Yunxi is a smart kid. There is a famous Sanfengqiao pork ribs in Wuxi, but it's a bit sweet, so I improved it a bit."

Jian Yunxi looked around the dining table. There were mapo tofu, big plate chicken, baby cabbage with egg yolk, mushrooms and vegetables. It was such a rich meal, with both meat and vegetables, and a bowl of hot and sour soup.

"So delicious." Jian Yunxi couldn't help but sigh, and Lu Yang kept picking up food for her.

Jian Yunxi felt embarrassed.

After dinner, Jian Yunxi was about to help clean up the dishes when Lu's mother grabbed her hand.

"Yunxi, we don't have such rules in our family. Don't feel burdened. Just treat it as your own home and relax."

Lu Yang had already gone into the kitchen to help his father clean up.

Through the half-open door, she could see Father Lu washing the dishes skillfully while Lu Yang was drying them beside him - this was apparently the norm in their family.

The same is true in Jian Yunxi's family. As long as his father has time, he basically does the housework. His father is also a chef, and his mother is at best a second-in-command.

Mother Lu is a very elegant and gentle woman. Maybe it has something to do with her profession, but her tone is always soft and gentle when she speaks to Jian Yunxi.

"Yunxi, I heard from Yangyang that you won a prize in some competition last time. That's amazing!"

"Auntie, Lu Yang is really good. He won a prize in a computer competition when he was a freshman."

Mother Lu laughed when she heard this. Lu Yang heard the voice and came out: "What are you guys talking about? You look so happy."

He subconsciously sat next to Jian Yunxi, and seeing Jian Yunxi's hands clenched together and nervously placed on his knees, he pulled Jian Yunxi's hand and placed it on his legs.

Mother Lu looked at her son and Jian Yunxi sitting together and felt that they were really a perfect match. And from what Jian Yunxi had just said, it seemed that their hearts were indeed closely connected.

After packing up, Mr. Lu rushed back to the hospital, saying that he was on night shift and would not be back at night.

Lu's mother took the opportunity to ask Jian Yunxi to stay for one night and go back to school with Lu Yang tomorrow. Jian Yunxi couldn't refuse the invitation, so he agreed.

"The quilts have been dried in advance. You will stay in Yangyang's room and let him stay in the guest room."

"Auntie, I'll go to the guest room."

"No, I'll go live there." Lu Yang disagreed. The guest room in his house was just a decoration. Basically no one lived there and there was nothing in the room. He would rather let Jian Yunxi sleep in his own room.

Mother Lu was almost dying of laughter at her own son. This kid really looked like his father when he was young.

She asked Lu Yang to take Jian Yunxi for a walk around the neighborhood so that she could get familiar with the environment.

The residential complex where Lu Yang lives is relatively new. The environment inside the community is very nice, and there is a small fitness square where some elderly people are exercising and some are taking their children for a walk.

The two of them looked young and were holding hands, so they quickly attracted attention and several aunts started discussing them.

"Whose young couple are they? Why haven't I seen them before?"

"You must be visiting relatives. Otherwise, I would definitely remember you if you were so handsome!"

"Your eyesight is not very good, they look young, they are a couple."

"Oh my, how beautiful it will be to give birth to a child after this!"

Jian Yunxi and Lu Yang both blushed so much that they walked hand in hand through the area quickly. When they reached a place where there was no one around, they smiled at each other. These aunts are so imaginative.

The Workers' Stadium is just a few steps away from the community, but at this time the Workers' Stadium is just an ordinary stadium and is very quiet when there are no games.

"It's not quite what I imagined." Jian Yunxi looked up at the iconic dome structure of the Workers' Stadium, gesturing with his fingers unconsciously, "I thought it would be more lively."

Lu Yang followed her gaze. In 2009, the Workers' Stadium had not undergone as many commercial renovations as it has since. The plain concrete exterior walls bore traces of rain. "On match days, the noise here can be deafening," he smiled and pointed toward the north gate. "The 'Beijing curses' of Guoan fans can last from the start to the end of the game."

Jian Yunxi said helplessly: "The glory of the Chinese national football team came to an abrupt end in 2002."

They walked slowly along Gongti North Road, the newly grown leaves of the trees rustling in the wind. Suddenly, a noise came from the side - in the small square at the north gate of Gongti, more than a dozen stalls set up parasols, forming a small flea market.

"Let's go and have a look!" Jian Yunxi's eyes lit up. Lu Yang knew at a glance that Jian Yunxi liked to visit small stalls like this.

Most of the items on the stalls were old: faded comic books, worn tapes, outdated sneakers... An old man selling used books had an old tape recorder in front of him, playing Teresa Teng's "Sweet Honey".

"Lu Yang, do you feel like you've returned to the 80s and 90s?"

Jian Yunxi didn't find any interesting stalls. To be honest, she was not very interested in these old-fashioned things.

Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly found an open umbrella full of woolen hairpins at the end of the road. Her eyes lit up.

Lu Yang saw that she liked it and pulled her straight to the stall.
