After Xia Minmin successfully skipped a grade, Li Chunmei's reaction was the most indifferent. Her expression showed no change. After returning to the supermarket, she sat by the phone and made calls.
"Hello, is this Mom? This is Chunmei. Xiaomin skipped a grade! She'll be starting sixth grade in a couple of days."
"My family is hosting dinner tomorrow night. I'll call you after I've made the reservations! And that's all, I still need to call other people to tell them about tomorrow's dinner!"

“Your Xiaomin is really great. I often see her running in the neighborhood in the morning. She’s much better than my son.”
"Don't say that. Every child has their own strengths. Didn't you say your child is good at sports? Why not give it a try? There are 360 professions, and every profession can produce an expert."
"That's true. Last semester, their PE teacher wanted him to join the school basketball team, but my wife disagreed. We'll have to discuss it properly when we get home today. Maybe it's a viable option."
"Society is so good these days, you won't starve. You two need to have a better mindset and not be so impatient. You can't rush things when it comes to children."
"Jianguo, how much money do you have today?"

Throughout the day, whenever neighbors came to shop, they would ask Xia Minmin about skipping a grade, or how she educated her child, what tutoring classes she attended, and so on. Xia Jianguo would also give them a bottle of milk as a gift.
By the time the store closed at 5 p.m., Xia Jianguo had delivered about a hundred bottles of milk.
"Shall we go home first?" Li Chunmei asked.
"Yes, I need to go home to pick up Xiaomin and put the money I received today at home."
"It's been so long since I've been this busy!"
"Yeah! Where is your sister treating us?"
"It's Xiaomin's favorite Sichuan restaurant, and Xiaowu specifically chose this place."
"Haha, you know how to cater to their tastes."
The couple was also helpless, not knowing how Xiao Wu had offended Xiao Min. Ever since they found out that Xiao Wu and Xiao Mei were together, Xiao Min had been treating Xiao Wu with a cold shoulder.

After saying that, Li Chunmei pushed open Xia Minmin's door, where Xia Minmin was doing her homework.
"Xiaomin, take a rest for a while, then we'll go have dinner."
"Your brother Xiao Wu specially booked a Sichuan restaurant that you like."
Xia Minmin tidied up the desk. "Hmph, they must be up to no good."
"Dad, aren't you coming with us?"
"Your dad is in his room. We'll go over there together in a bit."
Xia Minmin stepped out of the room, took a bottle of fresh milk from the refrigerator, and started drinking it.
Xia Jianguo said, "Can we go now?"
"Xiaomin can leave after she finishes her milk. We're meeting at 5:30!"

Xia Minmin didn't leave the house all day. She appeared in the community around 5 o'clock. Neighbors kept coming over to greet her, and Xia Minmin's face was stiff from smiling.
Xia Minmin had no choice but to walk quickly forward, wanting to get out of the community as soon as possible and escape this embarrassing place.
"Mom and Dad, how many people have you told about me skipping a grade?"
"Not many, I made more than twenty calls to your mother."
“I didn’t tell anyone. It was a neighbor of ours who is a teacher at your school who told me.”
"It'll be fine in a few days. Are you going to stay at the discount supermarket with your aunt for a few days?"
"I'm not going, I'm not going to be a third wheel!"
Being caught between two couples who are in love will only make things more awkward!
"Second brother, second sister-in-law, over here." Xia Xiaomei and Xiao Wu were waiting for them downstairs in the mall.
"Little sisters, why don't you go upstairs and sit down to wait? It's tiring standing here!"
“We’re all young, we’re not tired!” Xia Xiaomei said.
"Second Brother, Second Sister-in-law, Xiaomin, hello!" Xiaowu smiled shyly.
